  NPVR Not Scanning HDHR
Posted by: hornfrog - 2013-02-26, 06:43 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

I've an HDHR installed and finds all channels.
NPVR detects the device's tuners.
All NPVR exe's added to exception list in Windows FireWall
Upon Settings->Devices->Device Setup->Scan, the scanner just shows "Scanning physical channel 2" and nothing else happens. I can exit that with OK/Cancel, but no channels are ever detected.

HDHR is set up to use NPVR. I've also tried Other ATSC/QAM with various service starts and stops. Tried disabling all Windows and router firewalls. No difference. The log indicates a potential SW error: "Unexpected error in scanning form: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

The log is below - any assistance appreciated.

Unable to watch DVB-C encrypted channels with CI
Posted by: Oopsjoppe - 2013-02-25, 09:36 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Hi!
I have a setup with Windows 7 64bit running a single Technotrend CT-3650 CI for my DVB-C provider. My CA-module is a CryptoCam (Cryptoguard decryption) which can be seen here

All the free channels work great and everything is fine but when I scan for my encrypted channels (which works great in another digital receiver) I get that all channels are encrypted even though I have chosen "Common Interface H/W" and ofcourse inserted the "provider card" into the CAM.

Does anyone have any idea? I am not even sure that the CAM is identified and works? Or the provider card? Can I see this somewhere?

I have attached the log files from a channel scan. Would appreciate any help!

  Unable to scan DVB-T channels
Posted by: lafaki - 2013-02-25, 05:05 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I recently installed the latest NPVR software on my HTPC (to be used with XBMC 12) including the patches.

I have tried scanning with all different options but cannot find any channels at all.
My DVB-T card is Terratec Cinergy 2400i and the country is Greece.

Is there any specific configuration that I should use?
As I have all channel frequencies and tuning details, is there any way to import the channels from an import file?

Thanks,
Akis

Live TV is hanging after new install
Posted by: ericb - 2013-02-25, 03:33 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (21)

Hi, Just started using NextPVR. Using a MyGica X5075 card. Running Win 7 64 bit with I3 and 8Gb RAM.
I was able to get the channels list to update but am having a few problems.
When i go to Live TV the app just hangs and shows ...please wait...
I also had a problem when I clicked on the Update EPG where it froze my entire computer.
Anyone have any ideas on this?
THanks in advance!
Eric

  Setup Questions from a Newby
Posted by: cmarzahn - 2013-02-25, 01:48 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

Have a Windows 8 machine - new - plenty of processing power. Using a Hauppage 2250 HVR.
Still working thru some IRQ issues from installing the card. But I have, nevertheless, installed both card and NPVR 2.5.9 (latest release.) The questions I have are likely quite simple for those, like yourselves, who have been here before. I've selected the decoder as MPEG2. Still get a black screen. Should I have checked somewhere to be certain the decoder I'm using is compatible with Cox in the Hampton Roads market of Virginia? I have the device up and the scan done. It found 27 channels. Most of them look like "normal" names for the channels. Can't seem to get something up on live TV. Addtionally, I'm unclear if I have to "start NPVR" first, as there is a second button. I have it started. Does that only apply to the recording feature or must it be started for live TV, too.

Hope I'm not just being a newby pain... I did read thru the wiki and some of the forum items to get this far. Any solutions?

  This video cannot be played.
Posted by: fuzzweed - 2013-02-25, 12:31 AM - Forum: nDroid - Replies (3)

Something's happened to my live streaming; I can still watch recordings fine, but get a 'sorry cant play video' from attempts to watch live TV. My IP addresses have changed since getting a new router and changing ISP. but I think I've updated everything and restarted several times.

Only thing I can see in any of the logs is the NPVR web log

'Got Web Request (172.27.72.10): /live
2013-02-25 00:23:42.104 [DEBUG][6] Not allowing internet based streaming request from: 172.27.72.10

Which is the right IP and time for the failed attempt, but not much more to go on...

  writeTime
Posted by: Graham - 2013-02-24, 09:47 PM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (1)

mvallevand Wrote:I wrote a standalone utility called writeTime that can generate Timing.Info in post processing.

Some of my recordings (from a standard DVB-T tuner) don't do very well at skipping forward and back. Could I run this in post-processing to replace any existing (and dodgy) timing info? Thanks.

DVDs don't work with VMR9 Custom renderer
Posted by: Braklet - 2013-02-24, 02:28 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

System: WinXP Pro SP3, nVidia 7900GS, old PureVideo codecs. DirectShow can decode & play commercial DVDs in WMP.

I use VMR9 Custom renderer for TV and video, since it always provided the best balance of quality and usability in GB-PVR.

Tried playing a DVD using VMR9 Custom and just got sound behind a pink screen. Happens with commercial Video DVDs and ISOs mounted with Daemon Tools.

I switched DVD renderers and got acceptable video with Overlay and EVR. All VMR renderers resulted in pink screen, a small video tile, distorted aspect or windowed playback (NPVR is set to fullscreen on my system).

Don't have a problem per se since DVDs seem to work over EVR, but I'm curious about what's going on. AFAIK GB-PVR only had one rendering option used for live TV, recordings and DVDs. Also seemed to work great with VMR9 Custom. PureVideo is set to prioritize VMR9 playback and I'd like to make sure I don't drop back to CPU rendering.

Thanks for any light shed on how NPVR works with rendering.

  MP4FileLibU.dll Is Missing
Posted by: feilh - 2013-02-23, 09:09 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

When I try to play an mp4 file from NPVR (2.5.9 fully patched). Windows 8 Pro 64bit. I have installed Windows Movie Maker and saf unlocked. I get the System Error:

"The program can't start because MP4FileLibU.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

The mp4 file will play fine in Windows Media Player and MPC. I tried re-installing the mp4splitter from MPC standalone filters. i created the mp4 using MCEBuddy converting a NPVR .ts recording. I don't see anything of interest in the below log:

  NPVR 2.5.9 Installation Issue
Posted by: btpoole - 2013-02-23, 07:13 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Very new to NPVR and whole concept but thought I would give it try. I have downloaded installation file and all other supporting files as directed. I have installed all files. When I attempt to install NPVR I get an error message stating "Server database not found at \\hhushpc\npvr\npvr.db3". If I press ok program continues to install but I have a feeling it will not work correctly. Any help appreciated.
