I have been battling a problem off and on for a few days now that I need some help with.
First, I am running NextPVR 2.5.9 with all the current patches. I have a HDHomerun Prime and Comcast cablecard. I am able to use the QuickTV app that came with the prime and the NextPVR interface to tune live TV without issue.
However, I cannot seem to get streaming to work reliably. For the attached logs, I used VLC as my player but I have replicated the behavior using OpenElec XBMC client and also MX Player on Android. I can connect initially using http://<npvr machine>:8866/live?channel=xx and watch a stream without issue. However, after stopping the stream (using the 'stop' button in VLC), any attempt to open another stream - either the same channel or another - fails. With VLC/MXPlayer, it simply appears that nothing happens. With XBMC, it looks to be working for several minutes after which time XBMC will restart.
I've attached what I believe to be the relevant logs. I am no expert here, but NRecord.log looks to be the location with the most relevant information. In the log, I can see my request to tune Discovery HD (707) which worked flawlessly. Next, that is stopped and I attempt to tune ESPN HD (735) which then exhibits the problem behavior. I can see some differences in the log that lead me to believe there's a clue there, but I do not know where to go with it. Hopefully someone does.
How can I play .ts files? I clicked "Play", but the recorded file, a t. files doesn't start playing. I assume, I have the wrong decoders or something like that.
Or should I rather convert the recorded files? May be that could do NPVR automatically.
My unit is giving me a picture with a wavy type distortion (see below) at the top of the screen with live tv and recordings. It kind of waves back and forth and is less noticeable on dark programs. I am using the current version of nextpvr with a comcast dta, windows xp. I have been using this setup for a year or so, longer without the dta. I have reinstalled video drivers, swapped dta, swapped coax cables. I hadn't made any changes i can recall immediately before this started happening.
I can't figure out what is happening or how to fix it, I need help.
Where can I find the option to set a time automatically added before the starting time and added after the ending time? So when you program a recording to be started at 11:00 and ends at 12:00, the record automatically starts at 10:50 (set 10 minutes starting before) and ends at 12:20 (when you have set 20 minutes after ending time).
I have just today got my ceton card playing better with npvr. I can tune and watch channels now!! However, trying to tune a channel inside xbmc it just spins and spins with the buffering balloon showing. Anyone else seeing this? is this supposed to work now?
I have used my Ceton with SageTV in the past very successfully. I have been using it with WMC now for several months and I'm just starting to experiement with NextPVR/XBMC/raspberry PI. The first step is to get the Ceton working well in NextPVR. I have followed the PDF in the wiki and got my tuners setup and channels/guide mapped. However, when I try to tune a cablecard channel (yes it's copy free) from either the host or a client pc I just get the ".... please wait ....." box for a long time and then the "unable to communicate with recording device" message. I've tried with firewall on and off. I've restarted all services several times. Rebooted machine several times.
Can someone post a networkrecorder.xml file that they have working with the ceton card so I can compare?
How can I create the xml file with XMLTV for using the EPG? The content of the needed zip file (TV-Listings etc.) I have added to the folders. How can I make XMLTV create the data file?
Is there a comfortable way to change channel numbers in NPVR?
Or do i still have to enter the Channel number, have to watch for duplicates in channel numbers etc. ?
Would be nice if there is a kind of drag n drop functionality to reorder my channels.
