  NPVR DB question
Posted by: saitoh183 - 2013-02-23, 07:12 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (16)

I wanted to know where NPVR stores the recording information in the DB that you can export from the configuration screen. The reason i ask is that since my recordings were mapped to \\SRV-SAITOH\Recorded TV originally, i exported my recording list changed all the paths to that contained \\SRV-SAITOH\Recorded TV to V:\. Then i moved all my recordings out of \\SRV-SAITOH\Recorded TV so that NPVR registers them as gone, restarted NPVR service...recordings were now gone. Moved recordings back to \\SRV-SAITOH\Recorded TV but imported my recording file that points to V:\ and restarted service again. They showed up but then today they were gone again. I imported them again, restarted the service. I checked in NEWA and it doesnt see them but in NPVR they appear. So i wanted to go check the DB to see what it had but i only find the 3 recordings i had in my Default path.

On a side note for future reference, what is the proper procedure if we need to change the path of a recording that is stored?

Edit
I found them im the DB table Scheduled recording.
I stopped the service, imported the shows, started the service again, refresh the npvr DB table and they appeared. waited a bit and then refresh the table again and the entries disappeared....wth is going on..lol

  Bringing an iPad to NZ
Posted by: mikeh49 - 2013-02-23, 04:11 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

@NZ guys

A friend's son is yachting the South Pacific and summering in the Bay of Islands/Opua in NZ. The son has asked the father to bring him an iPad. What are the considerations as far as customs, duties, etc? Would it be expensive if the intent was to leave the device there, but ultimately return to the US with it?

Thanks.

Use metdata from ImageGrabLite to update/supplement Show Detail
Posted by: jksmurf - 2013-02-23, 04:13 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (13)

sub - big wish
It'd be great if you could find a way for NPVR to reference the metadata in addition to the images, both produced by Imagegrablite.
My TVxB grabs get quite limited detail.

Thanks!

k.

Audio signals available but no picture

I have tried to set up PVR and at the moment I can receive live tv with audio signals but without picture. What might cause that?

Does not work goes to blank screen
Posted by: treasuredphotos - 2013-02-23, 01:25 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

I setup the channels but it does not start. All it does is goes to a blank screen. I tried to uninstall the software then reinstall, but this does not remove everything. When it started again the channels where still there that I had scanned before. The tuner does work with Windows Media center and WinTV from Hauppauuge. Does anyone have an idea what I need to do other than uninstall it?

GB-PVR -> NPVR migration: welcome additions
Posted by: Braklet - 2013-02-22, 08:01 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

My satisfaction with NPVR grows. I recently stumbled on the right-click menu to select/disable different streams in the MPEG data, which makes life a TON easier for me watching live sports broadcasts.

I often prefer radio to TV audio coverage, and came up with a scheme to retransmit & add delay to radio using VLC. This works well, but in order to use it with GB-PVR I had to terminate the audio renderer to an unused device in the Config.exe application. This overhead meant I couldn't switch sound while a recording was made.

With NPVR, I simply disable the audio stream and voila! Radio coverage.

I also prefer the in-process Settings design to the old external Config.

Thanks!

VBI closed caption subtitles possible with Hauppauge analog capture?
Posted by: Braklet - 2013-02-22, 06:23 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

My WinXP based HTPC uses a Hauppauge HVR-2250. An S-video input is connected to a Dish Network satellite receiver (North America).

Using WinTV7, I verified that this hardware is capable of feeding the VBI CC stream and displaying it as subtitles. I also display VBI CC subtitles from the same satellite source using another computer running MythTV and an HVR-1800.

I've attempted to display these subtitles by right clicking in NPVR and selecting the CC stream, but can't display any subtitles. I also notice that recordings made with this hardware are missing the CC stream.

Is there any way to preserve VBI CC from analog sources, and if so how would I go about it?

Thanks!

Can NPVR access a shared DVD drive accross the LAN?
Posted by: OTAjunkie - 2013-02-22, 03:51 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

I'd like to be able to use the DVD drive on my server from my clients. I've shared the drive in windows and can access it with VLC and WMP.
After trying out some script in the config file of the client NPVR does not say the path is bad("no DVD") but yields a blank screen.
config edit: "<DVDDrive>//\\NPVR Server\D\</DVDDrive>"
<DaemonToolsExe>C:\Program Files (x86)\DAEMON Tools Lite\DTLite.exe</DaemonToolsExe>
<DaemonToolsDrive>K:\</DaemonToolsDrive>
<DaemonToolsDelay>3500</DaemonToolsDelay>

Am I close? Can this be done?

Thanks,

never mind,,, I traded my backslashes for forwardslashes and we're good!

  Navigation in sub-folders
Posted by: StevHodge - 2013-02-22, 11:27 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

This is a small problem with a work around, but it is still bugging me somewhat so would appreciate some help
In the 'recording' tab the add-on finds the NPVR recordings which are arranged in folders by the name of the programme -ie how NPVR does it -hardly surprising
My problem is that if I go down the tree into one of the programme folders to get a listing of the programmes inside the subfolder I cannot easily get out of it.

If you hit return or escape - yes you do get out but it throws you right back the Live TV tab. And then if you go back to recordings you get taken straight back to the sub-folder where you were before. Irritating!

On the native XMBC video tab, which I have set to access the same folder, I can get out by hitting the up arrow, but there is no up arrow in the NPVR plug-in that I can see. Nor can I find a key either on the key map or trial and error that does it. This is why I think may be an NPVR add-on problem rather than an XMBC problem

BTW the work around is go to one of the other tabs on the top level (TV or audio say), then back to recording, when it behaves properly

How to View Live with External Player instead of VLC plugin?
Posted by: yardern - 2013-02-22, 02:35 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (8)

Dear Experts,

I am running Win7 64bit, Chrome for NEWA.
NEWA comes with NextPVR 2.5.9.

In the TV guide of NEWA, if I click "View Live" at left side of the grid, it pops up a VLC window trying to play live TV. But not successful.

How could I get it to play with an external player?
In the "Config", I have checked "Open Stream in External Player", but it has no influence.

Do I have to use Firefox even for View Live with External Player?

Thanks

Yardern
