GB-PVR => NPVR migration; where to set analog audio/video bitrates?
Posted by: Braklet - 2013-02-11, 06:18 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I use custom settings in GB-PVR to tailor my Hauppauge analog MPEG-2 encoder so that I can fit 120 minutes of video on a single 4.7G DVD-R blank. These data used to be contained in the "direct.ini" file.

I found corresponding video data in NPVR config.xml:

Code:
<Analog> <Bitrate>4820000</Bitrate> <BitratePeak>9540000</BitratePeak> <BitrateMode>VBR</BitrateMode> <FieldOrder>default</FieldOrder> </Analog>

but nothing for audio. How does NPVR set this up in the Hauppauge driver?

Thanks!

GB-PVR => NPVR migration; video library missing episode ID information
Posted by: Braklet - 2013-02-11, 06:10 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (36)

I'm a long time GB-PVR user and finally decided to take the NextPVR plunge. Some things went very smoothly, but one issue has me stumped and I wonder if anybody has found a solution.

Following these suggestions, I imported my GB-PVR library into NPVR. The recordings appear as expected, however after importing season recordings I notice that NPVR re-schedules existing recordings.

GB-PVR's recording-dump.xml contains <uid> fields with unique ID values set by Tribune and forwarded by Schedules Direct. I took a look in npvr.db3 and see that EPG_EVENT table contains the uid information in column unique_id. However, I've found no way to map this unique_id to any field in the SCHEDULED_RECORDING table.

My video library contains some ~2000 recordings so I hope there is some way to recover or rebuild unique episode mapping in NPVR.

I can't believe I'm the first person to run across this issue but I couldn't figure out the right forum search terms. Can anyone help shed light?

Many thanks!

  MVP/NMT Device addition and Removal
Posted by: jack.garcia - 2013-02-11, 04:56 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Per the wiki at this page I don't have a Add button next to the Known devices box, There are also to fixed devices which don't match any computer MAC address wise on my local network. Also these to MAC address can not be removed with the Remove button. Find attached an image Sad

I am able to steam and access the NEWA on other computers over wireless from my main PC that runs the NVPR service, what I'm trying to do is make it so I can adjust the the resolution on the clients watching the TV via the VLC plugin. Is this done server (PC running the service) or the client PC (watching the TV)?

Update EPG without running "NPVRServiceControl.exe start"?

Is it possible to update the EPG without first running ""NPVRServiceControl.exe" start"? I use MC2XML (pulling data from SD).

  dvb-s scan incomplete
Posted by: cal007 - 2013-02-11, 07:49 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hello Dear members,
I just installed recently the version 2.59 of nextpvr. I am using a DVB-S/ S2 sat card for TV and radio.
After installing everything the TV card was detected as expected (BDA). I am on Astra 19,2 so I started channel scan.

I observe that the scan does not result in finding all channels. I updated the sat ini file in order to provide all frequencies, but not a big change.
every time I scan, it finds a few more channels, but far from the complete list. It seems as it does not detect all the channels per frequency.

Does anybody have the same problem or am I doing something wrong?

Also, I do not find any BDA.ini, as stated in some other threads here....but which seems to be for the former GB-PVR valid only. I suppose it is not related to that ini anyway, as the TV card is working in principle.

Thank you for providing a hint.

Best regards,
cal

  Nova 500 dual DVB-T tuner flaky in Win7 64bit?
Posted by: wannabepvr - 2013-02-11, 05:40 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Hi guys, I am building a new machine (NPVR2.5.9) and moving my Nova 500 dual digital from XP-32 bit to windows7-64bit.
I had to use the windows "update" drivers from Microsoft as none of the Hauppauge drivers seem to be 64bit.

But the tuner is now a bit flaky and will start sometimes and not others. Are you all using these Microsoft drivers successfully?

My HVR 1250 is workind perfectly..

Anyone have experience using one of these with Android XBMC as a client for NPVR? Looks like it could be interesting.

DVB-T low profile multi tuner recommendation?
Posted by: reven - 2013-02-10, 11:07 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

Hi Guys,

I'm after a DVB-T low profile multi tuner card.

My current card is a TBS-6984 DVB-S quad tuner, but moving soon and will need a DVB-T card. I want one with at least 2 DVB-T tuners, but if there is one that has 4 I'll likely go for that one.

I would prefer only one input on the card, so I don't need to split the tv signal and have extra wires in the way. And I'm not interested in a USB tuner, this will be placed in a server cabinet so less stuff hanging around the better (also don't want a HDHomerun, I want a self contained unit).

any recommendations?

cheers.

  Certain Channels Stutter
Posted by: mattdid - 2013-02-10, 10:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

I am new to npvr. I am having issues with certain channels while watching live TV. The majority of channels work perfectly and without issue, however some channels, (comedy central HD for example) stutters in both video and audio. My setup is as follows, win 8, i7 using intel integrated graphics 2000, ceton pcie tuner. I have the network tuner plugin setup with SageDCT and I am using SAF6 for the decoders. I have tried varied combinations of decoders yet that has not solved the issue. Currently I am using PDVD12 (video MPG2) and LAV (audio ACC). I have tried varying the buffer time however that does not fix the issue. When viewing the tv buffer ts files the comedy central ones will not play in windows media player(other channels will), however will play in MPC-HC. In MPC-HC they contain the stutters. I assume that means that there is something different with file formats and it maybe a decoding issue? Anyone had the same issue or have an idea, appreciate the help.
