Guide does not show listings from xmltv.xml file
Posted by: The_Keymaker - 2012-12-20, 08:19 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (27)

Hello all.

My new NPVR installation won't show the gude details from my xmltv.xml file. The xml file was created using MC2XML and I can open the xml file and see all the channels and show details. However, when I manually update the guide, NPVR displays 'no show details' for each channel and time slot in the guide.

I've emptied the EPG and updated EPG several times and the guide still shows 'no show details'. I've searched the forum and although there was a similar problem reported, there appeared to be no definitive solution.

Anyone have any suggestions about what I'm doing wrong or what I can do to resolve this? My logs are attached.

Regards.

  Does record end automagically adjust?
Posted by: davej00 - 2012-12-20, 02:05 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I have come back to NextPVR after a couple of years absence from originally using GB-PVR.

I have got caught a couple of times by setting my post-record padding to 5 minutes and the show over running.

I thought NextPVR would automatically adjust the end time based on the data in the (DVB-) stream (it knows what program its recording)

Is that not the case?

Does the listings plugin perhaps do this?

or do I just need to set the post-record padding to (say) 10 minutes?

Thanks

- Dave

  On Demand Recording
Posted by: christopherve7alb - 2012-12-20, 06:12 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

I mainly use my NextPVR system to watch live news programming and oftentimes I'll see a story I want to record. I know it's possible to use the ctrl-k command to instantly start a recording, but I've noticed that the recording will continue to run until the end of the program. It would be really great if the ability to start and stop recordings on demand could be included in a future update.

Auto Channel Change with no Recording
Posted by: webstar - 2012-12-20, 03:44 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Is there a way to setup Npvr to change the channel on a schedule but not record.

My goal is to change the channel of the front end running live tv but that is all.

  EPG / Schedules Direct issue
Posted by: totallhavoc - 2012-12-20, 12:20 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I just installed NextPVR for the first time and I'm having some issues with Schedules Direct. I already have a SD account as I used it with another PVR. When I choose a channel and try to set it to use schedules direct, I don't have any options under "Lineup" and "Mappings". This happens even after putting my username and password in, then clicking on download. I checked the log file for errors and this is what I have:

2012-12-19 19:11:38.872 [DEBUG][1] Got SchedulesDirect response
2012-12-19 19:11:38.872 [DEBUG][1] Response header: Connection=close
2012-12-19 19:11:38.872 [DEBUG][1] Response header: Content-Type=text/xml;charset=utf-8
2012-12-19 19:11:38.872 [DEBUG][1] Response header: Date=Thu, 20 Dec 2012 00:11:24 GMT
2012-12-19 19:11:38.872 [DEBUG][1] Response header: Server=Apache-Coyote/1.1
2012-12-19 19:11:38.872 [DEBUG][1] Response header: X-Powered-By=Servlet 2.4; JBoss-4.0.5.GA (build: CVSTag=Branch_4_0 date=200610162339)/Tomcat-5.5
2012-12-19 19:11:38.872 [DEBUG][1] Received uncompressed text from SchedulesDirect

I also noted that a schedulesdirect.xml file is not getting created.

Any ideas?

  System - Updated 19th December, 2012
Posted by: imilne - 2012-12-19, 08:38 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

This plugin provides a system overview of recordings, connected drives (including network drives), active tuners, basic hardware monitoring, and power related options.

http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Plugin.System

[ATTACH=CONFIG]35231[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=CONFIG]35232[/ATTACH]

The latest version was released on December 19th and includes a small change to allow the plugin to cope with the (hopefully) rare situation that caused it to crash due to corrupt Windows registry entries (for Performance Monitor). This affected the plugin's ability to monitor CPU usage.

For feedback and support, please use the 3rd party Plugins area of the forum.

  Available recordings not showing up
Posted by: SteveTyrakowski - 2012-12-19, 04:49 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (23)

Hi,

I have OpeneElec 3 beta 5? running and I turned on the NextPvr add-on. It seems to be making a connection OK because it gets the EPG, shows me any currently recording shows as well as the next scheduled recording. I can also view live TV by selecting in the Channels display.

What I am not getting are the available recordings. If I am currently recording, then when I go to the recordings under LiveTV it shows those, but none of the already recorded shows. If nothing is recording at the time, then the recordings page only shows the .. entry.

Any clues what might be wrong? It obviously is getting access to the SQL database since it can see current and future recordings, and it can play live TV so it is streaming OK.

Is there possibly some limit to the number of recordings it can put into the XBMC database? I do have about 1325 shows in the nextpvr database. the only other guess is that the 1st folder alphabetically is a movie "$ (Dollars)". Could the special character there possibly be causing the problem? I will test removing this later when I get home, because actually I see that there is no video file in that folder. My program that converts the TS files to mp4 might have had a problem with the filename too which I never noticed.

Just curious if the filenaming routing in NextPvr does any checking for dangerous characters when composing the name and possibly use a safer name. Similar issues have been a real PITA for barcode program I've written at work. When the users decide to put a double quote character into a part number to denote inches it can cause all sorts of fun when sending the ASCII strings to the printer. Passing filenames to external programs and between different operation systems leaves the potential for lots of craziness with special characters.

Thanks,
Steve Tyrakowski

Martin/All Is it technically possible for NPVR/MVP to ever play Copy Once Recordings
Posted by: jt25741 - 2012-12-19, 02:10 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (4)

Contemplating expanding to HDHR Prime with cable card...as my provider charges the same for my cable service and what Cox says "Advanced TV" -- which turns on 200 more channels or so (mostly junk but that is a different problem).

Currently I am doing just ClearQAM on a handful of channels. But it works well.

I have read that only Microsoft MC does DRM "right" and can playback these copy-once channels -- even through extender like Xbox.

Question: Is it a technical possibility, with development effort, that NPVR can handle such files in a similar fashion, through MVPMCX2 or native on the PCH? Or is this stuff so locked down by a combination of what the tuner lays in the stream and what is needed on the media center side-- that no chance exists for this to ever work with NPVR?

Thanks for your help and ideas. My goal would be to continue to use WinXP/NPVR unchanged on my little low-power Atom based machine with NMT as playback device. Otherwise I would need Windows 7, bigger/faster PC.....and buy another Xbox Extender.... all things I prefer not to do...and will put off if I can.

Any other advice appreciated. Thanks for educating me on this.

Jim

  MusicBox 4 and LastFM
Posted by: McBainUK - 2012-12-19, 02:09 PM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (2)

Does MusicBox4 support Last.FM scobbling? There's a Last.FM/Audioscrobbler section on it's wiki page but I can't see anything related in the settings screen of the plugin.

Also, the support link from the wiki page takes me to the GB-PVR sub-forum. Is this intentional?

  Artist images in Music Libary
Posted by: McBainUK - 2012-12-19, 01:50 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

My music is sorted like this:

Code:
[Adele] - folder.jpg - [19] -- folder.jpg -- (mp3 tracks) - [20] -- folder.jpg -- (mp3 tracks) [Aiden] - folder.jpg - [Convection] -- folder.jpg -- (mp3 tracks)

I've found that if there's a folder.jpg in the artist folder (at the same level as the album folders), it will be shown in the default NextPVR music library while browsing. This is a nice bit of bling, but I don't feel like manually getting the artist art from somewhere like fanart.tv manually. Does anyone know of tool that could download the artist art automatically? Something like Ember Media Manager but for music file metadata instead of video.
