Increase Live TV buffer from Settings
Posted by: jman315 - 2012-10-15, 04:16 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (8)

Instead of having to create the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NPVR\SlipSeconds=xxxx to increase the Live TV buffer, can this be an option listed on the Settings -> Misc section?

  Resuming and comskip in XBMC
Posted by: mvallevand - 2012-10-15, 03:48 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (10)

Here is a very quick sample of comskip and resume of a NextPVR HDPVR h264 5:1 recording I recently got the donator version of comskip and it is working very well. The only issue is the jumps just happen there is no indication on the timeline.

Note this is from a WD Live NAS, and there is no issue with performance, it actually works much better than streaming the same file via the PC backend.

FCC to allow U.S. basic cable to be encrypted
Posted by: mian - 2012-10-15, 12:00 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (22)

http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-10...-fcc-rules

Quote:Cable companies led by Comcast Corp. (CMCSA) won U.S. permission to encrypt their basic service to fight theft and reduce service calls.

The Federal Communications Commission voted 5-0 to allow encryption, the agency said in an order released yesterday. Cable companies already encrypt offerings on more expensive channel packages that feature more programming.

The FCC had prohibited encryption on basic service so customers wouldn’t need to rent a set-top box to view local stations. The prohibition didn’t hold for satellite providers DirecTV (DTV) and Dish Network Corp. (DISH) or for cable competitors such as TV services offered by AT&T Inc. (T) and Verizon Communications Inc.

  Filtering Recordings
Posted by: mvallevand - 2012-10-14, 11:52 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

There are a few wishlist requests regarding the ability to filter out archived recordings which is still a good idea, but I have a new take on this. I would like a filter out db entries when those files that don't exist. I want to keep the entry in the table for various reasons, one is avoid duplicates but I would like to turn the filter of because it also reminds me of what movies I've watched since I don't always remember them by name.

If this feature comes about, I would probably like the option to delete file only, but for now I can use other methods for that.

Migrating from For The Record (FTR) to NPVR
Posted by: toricred - 2012-10-14, 11:35 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

I have completed my move over to NextPVR as the PVR back end for XBMC. Thanks to Martin's tireless effort I was able to import all my recurring recordings and recording history. Here's a quick step-by-step on the move:

1. If you haven't already, you will need to install the patch located at < http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post443348 >

2. Next download the attached utility and uncompress the file into you NextPVR program folder.

3. C
reate a folder called ForTNImport in the NextPVR Datadirectory.

4. Export an xml file from the FTR Schedules/Recordings screen and name it
RecordingSchedules.xml.

5. P
lace the xml file and MyVideos60.db, or MyVideos69.db in there.

6.
Backup your npvr.db3 in case anything goes wrong.

7. Run
ForTN, Nothing does anything except import.

8. Enjoy

Can we add end date for manual recurring recording and EPG recording?
Posted by: superman2012 - 2012-10-14, 11:27 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hi everyone.

Can we add end date for manual recurring recording and EPG recording so that they will be removed automatically from the recurring recording list?
Or must we manually remove all unwanted entries from the recurring recording list?

manual recurring recording - infinite or with a end date
EPG recording - infinite, with a end date or auto remove after XX days/weeks of inactivity?

Thank you!

Posted by: mvallevand - 2012-10-14, 05:44 PM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (3)

X-NEWA won't support teletext until the general XBMC player supports it. Teletext is a special feature of PVR LiveTV demux, but I am not sure that this will work with NextPVR currently. The patches for this are just getting committed today but it looks like it might be the htsp demux only.

  black screen after external app
Posted by: jam_zhou - 2012-10-14, 05:16 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

when I exit an external app I only get a black screen. The NPVR UI will return once I move left or right. I'd like to see the UI right away.

  Dark Screen
Posted by: JiiJii - 2012-10-14, 12:31 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (11)

Is it normal that the screen is dark when i'm for example browsing recordings? It's like the focus of the window is off the screen.

I must say that this XBMC plugin is great! Thanks Sub!

  Time bug for recurring recordings.
Posted by: superman2012 - 2012-10-14, 11:27 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Hi everyone.

I'm a UTC +08:00 user with NPVR 2.5.9.

Bug 1 :
Manual weekly recurring recording doesn't work correctly if start time is any time between 12am to 7.59am.

Example :

Manual weekly recurring recording :

Start Date : 16th Oct 2012 TUESDAY
Recording time : 2am to 3am

Recording never appear in pending list for 16th Oct. Nothing for 15th Oct either.
The first recording will be next week 22nd MONDAY 2am to 3am instead of 23rd TUESDAY 2am to 3am.

Bug 2 :
Updating any manual recurring recording will show a change of time.

Recording time : 7am to 9am

Updating the recurring recording(maybe to change filename) will show a change of recording time to 11pm to 1am.
Although we can easily change the time back to the correct time, but in case some people never notice the change of time when updating.

Thank you!
