I have a dual tuner, TBS6280, that has 2 tuners. So it appears as 2 devices under NextPVR, tuner A and tuner B.
I notice that all the schedules make use of Tuner A for all the recording. I'm kinda worried about the asymmetric usage, and would like to ask if there is a way to spread out the usage to be roughly equal load on the 2 tuners?
I thought of a way, and that is to remove the channel list on Tuner A occasionally, but other than that, what can I do?
Hi,
I know there are a lot of posts about this so sorry if my problem is solved elsewhere. I have gone through close to 25 threads and tried other peoples solutions to no avail.
Just setting up npvr for the first time. I get channel listing but no picture or sound when selecting live tv. I get it in other programs VLC, HDHR set up software, Media portal (switching from that software). I've tried changing my decoders and renderer but none seem to work. Tried with the firewall on with allowances for NRecord and NextPVR. Tried it with the firewall off. Tried re-installing codecs saf6 and then cccp when that didn't work. uninstalled all my old codecs ac3filter and anything saf6 wanted me to uninstall. then re-installed saf6. My log's don't appear to have any errors but this is where the experts hang out so I've posted them. Hope someone can help.
Also I've tried recording and I get 0KB files. Let me know if you would like me to post the NRecord logs as well. Thanks again,
So, I've got things working over HDMI in Win7 x64 without issue -- I can play youtube videos and see/hear everything just fine via HDMI.. However, when I fire up NPVR I get video without the audio.. I tried fooling around with the decoder settings -- changing from default audio decoding to other decoders and noticed no change.. I think I saw a link somewhere that listed a bunch of decoders that can be used but can't find it now.. I'm thinking I need to install that set and see how things go..
I'm trying to use episode search to auto record some shows based on title or description content, but I cannot get it to work. Clicking on the show in tv-guide to record work, but I want it to do it automatic based on rules I set. I gather this is what episode search is for.
Have ended up with Sky TV (New Zealand) after a deal was offered that was too good to turn down... Currently have decoder connected via S-Vid to Npvr. Looking into integrating using card reader etc, and have found a bit of info both here and over on geekzone which looks like it all should work OK. Have a HVR4000 card (once I retrieve it from my Dad's at least...), and wondered how the mux thing worked on satellite feed?? How many physical tuners are required to pick up all the sky channels using multi-record?? I am assuming this query doesn't wander over to the dark side as I am paying for the Sky subscription...
Hello. Newbie to the forum. I recently switched over to NPVR. I installed NPVRSetup_2_5_5 a few weeks back and got it up and running with minimal headaches. My system is running a Windows 8 (90 day trial) and a Hauppauge HDPVR. Last night I noticed the 2.5.9 upgrade available. I followed the instructions to close the app, stop the service, and exit the sys tray app. However, after the upgrade, I only got a blank screen when viewing live TV. I reviewed all the setting and everything appeared to be the same in the decoder and device sections. The only way I could seem to get live tv to work was by open the TotalMedia Extreme software (which was bundled with the HDPVR) and open 'Record Video'. TME would display an error that the capture device was in use. Once I clicked 'OK' then I would see video in NPVR.
After a handful of reboots, and changing options in the device and decorder sections I still had no luck. For now, I completely uninstalled 2.5.9 from the control panel, deleted the NPVR folder from the user profile, and deleted the npvr folder from program files. Interestingly enough after re-installing 2.5.5, when I go to the settings in NPVR it says I'm running version 2.5.9, but the nextpvr.exe file is dated 7/8/2012.
Just thought I'd share my experience. Otherwise thanks for your time and effort in developing this app.
I appear to be missing something here. Trying to set up a satellite device I get this crash when I try to scan for channels.
Using MS Windows Vista, TBS driver version 2.0.1.5, attempting "28.2 Freesat Only"
The DVB viewer provided with the card seems to work OK.

I did a search on this and it was announced over a year ago. Anyone know when we might start to see some of these devices?
