  Deleting recordings
Posted by: cncb - 2012-10-10, 08:25 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (37)

I am trying the Oct. 8 XBMC Windows build with the Oct. 4 build of the NPVR addon. When I select "Delete" in the context menu for the recording in XBMC nothing happens. Is this supposed to work yet? Thanks.

Any one used OpenRemote to control GB/N-PVR?
Posted by: pz1 - 2012-10-10, 04:32 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - No Replies

I am still using the old GBPVR with MVP for occasional recordings of programs that are scheduled at odd hours. I have tried with some success to replace my remotes with a Harmony 700 remote. I find the software to program it rather awkward, and it is at times not functioning as expected..
Since some time I am looking into the possibilities of OpenRemote (http://www.openremote.com) to help me conserve energy. As quite a few people there use the system to control their "home theatres" I wonder if anybody here has tried to use it to control GB/N-PVR in combination with the extenders like NMT or MVP?
Pieter

HD Homerun produces 0 length files, especially in the early AM hours
Posted by: DHL - 2012-10-10, 10:27 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

I have upgraded to NPVR 2.5.9 (this issue also existed in 2.5.5, but did not exist in previous versions as often). Almost every morning, the following recording produces a zero length file. Most other recordings during the day do record properly, however, not all. The HD Homerun logs indicate that the tuning is successful. I am and have also been running WMC on this same computer and using a different set of tuner cards for WMC. I have prevented WMC from using the HD Homerun. I restarted the NPVR recording service and it then began recording this manually scheduled event. The HD Homerun has the latest Firmware installed.

  EPG Update on Boot?
Posted by: iamboriskarloff - 2012-10-10, 04:50 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hi - Firstly thanks for this fabulous project. I've been using it successfully for years. The PC that I run NPVR 2.5.9 on is not generally on all of the time. I turn it in when I want to record or watch something and NPVR starts up at boot. I usually schedule the recording via the web interface.

It is set to update the free-to-air EPG at a particular time every day, but if the PC isn't turned on at the time it doesn't get updated. I know I can update manually, but is it possible somehow to get it to update the EPG automatically at boot. If not, would it be easy to add a manual option to update the EPG via a button in the web interface?

Thanks,

Dave

[HDPVR/Colossus] Channel Changing with NPVR Addon
Posted by: toricred - 2012-10-10, 12:53 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (53)

I'm having a problem using the NPVR addon for XBMC. It works to tune a channel perfectly the first time, then when I change channel XBMC gets stuck waiting. This log was taken when I waited for about 30 seconds to change the channel to 206 ESPN. Note that shutting down XBMC and restarting it clears the problem up and I can tune a channel again, but the cycle repeats.

Attached are the web.log, nrecord.log, and xbmc.log files.

  ImageGrabLite Rename
Posted by: Graham - 2012-10-09, 09:42 PM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (10)

I use xmltvGUI to obtain xmltv data in the UK. I have ticked on the option in xmltvGUI to add the series and episode numbers to the subtitle.

Attempts to use IGL to rename are failing. I am guessing this is because IGL does an Internet lookup on the subtitle to get the series and episode data and doesn't like the look of my subtitles.

But, the series and episode numbers are in the epg-event table and ... you can see where I am going.

The attached is logs from two rename attempts and the two corresponding rows from epg-event.

Thanks.

Screen problem after waking from sleep
Posted by: HuskerGrad - 2012-10-09, 09:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I know this isn't an issue with NextPVR, but thought someone here might have seen something like this.

I recently rebuilt my computer and after hooking it up to my TV, every time it wakes from sleep the screen distorted so that only about the top half of the screen is displayed. It is though the resolution is messed up. It is as though the resolution is set to something bizarre like 1200x1800 and the bottom half is off the bottom of the screen, if that makes sense. When I restart it, it is fine until it goes to sleep again. This didn't happen when it was hooked up to an actual monitor, only when I hooked it up to my TV via S-Video.
Is this an issue with my video card?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jeff

  looking 4 USB-capture software
Posted by: josee - 2012-10-09, 08:02 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Hello,
I am searching the net for better software as I don't like MyTV from König Electronic software.
It was delivered with my USB video grabber CMP-USBVG6 which is connected to
the Dutch Cablenetwork via Digital Cable Receiver (Decoder).
I do get a complete videosignal + sound from the grabber delivered via USB 2.0.
Channelchoice and volume are via remote control to the receiver.
It is working fine, exept for the software.

The question is: Can PVR pick up the USB-signal en show the selected TV-programm in a window?
Channelselection is not needed, and volume is just an extra option.

Thanks beforehand, Josee

p.s. As an alternative I also do have a Silvercrest SVG 2.0 A1 USB-Video-Grabber, which has no usable software.

Stange Behaviour handling pre padding on system with 3 tuners
Posted by: Handy.Man - 2012-10-09, 12:41 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

Hello,

I have a Win7 64bits computer with
- Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 Dual ATSC Tuner showed as Hauppauge WinTV-7164 BDA ATSC/QAM Tuner
- Diamond ATI Theater HD 750 TVW750USB TV Tuner USB ATSC showed as a ATI BDA Digital Tuner
I have enabled Use backgroung recording and Use out-of-porcess digital recording

I sometimes have strange problems when i update a recording and change pre/post padding. Most of the time it works fine, but it will sometimes shuffle channel around on the tuner for no 'apparent' reason.

Earlier in the afternoon, I program a show to start on channel 17 at 19h00, update to add 1min pre-post padding. I also check to see if the show on channel 2 scheduled at 18:30 has 1min pre-post padding. I may have update that recording for 1min pre/post padding

At 18:29 3 shows (ch 2, 6, 15) are recording and it did not stop them to start ch 2 with 1min pre padding, no tuner are available and the recording will start at 18:30 instead of 18:29. However it was already recording on channel 2 on tuner24, it should have been able to grab and pre pad the show, instead it started recording on tuner26.

This happen on occasion when instead of keeping the tuner on the same channel, NextPVR will get confused and record 2 channels on the same tuner!, basically killing the one already recording by tuning to a another channel.

This happenned tonigh at 18:59 when it started recording 1min pre-padding on ch 17, killing the one on ch 2, however there was 2 tuners available at 19:00???

When I look at the log file, it seems to check only 2 tuners.

Channel mapping doesn't list some channels that appear in SchedulesDirect
Posted by: ijourneaux - 2012-10-08, 10:34 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I have jsut started playing with NPVR (since it can now be a backend to XBMC). Got everything setup 5 tuners (HDHomeRun and HDHomeRun Prime). Setup schedulesDirect. Unfortunately several of list on the schedulesdirect website are not availabe to be mapped in Setting|Channels. For instance channels 610 (CW), 680 (CNNHD) and 682 (HLN) are listed in Schedules direct but are not available when you try to map for guide data.

Am I doing something wrong? Perhaps I should rescan channels and remap?
