.. which I never did anything with, I've found that The Unit, on TV3 every Thursday at about midnight, always stops recording after just shy of 10 minutes. Sub, I wondered if you had any suggestions (like last time) or things I should do before the next recording occurs, after which I'll post the logs etc. I'm at work right now so will post the current logs later, which should have last the most recent instance of this problem.
This is the only show it happens with and I've tried deleting and recreating the recording (I think).
I've not had this problem for several versions. It appears to have returned, maybe with 2.5.9?
When watching LiveTV I'll have random freezes on the client. Sometimes 5 minutes apart, sometimes after viewing for 2 hours.
Stopping and restarting LiveTV usually does the trick to get things going again.
I have 2 HD-PVRs and have noted this happens no matter which is being used (hopefully that eliminates the capture source.)
Recordings streamed to clients work just fine, perfectly in fact. We've probably watch collectively 60-80 hours of recordings with 2.5.9 with the clients. All clear there.
It just froze now while typing this. On a lark, I've started it again and paused it for 1 minute and started viewing. I wonder if a little buffer will help.
Not sure if this is a TVlistings, NPVR or user issue.
This is what I received when trying to record cuckoo.
Hopefully the screen shots speak for themselves.
I'm new to nPVR (didn't really take any notice of it until the XBMC plugin) but impressed from my limited time using it, however my channel changing is quite slow in both the NPVR frontend & XBMC.
My setup comprises a TBS6981 sat card, Omnikey 3121 card reader and I'm using Oscam/Acamd (also tried Oscam/Hadu) and UK encrypted channels take approximately 6 seconds to clear, is this the best I can expect?
Well after a good few attemps..... It let me join the forum
Ok, so I grabbed the installer, run through the setup and setup and scanned my card. It seemed to pick the channels up fine. I've set folders up and just set them to "Everyone" on sercirity just to test. When I start NextPVR, it starts ok but as soon as I go for live TV I just get the windows circle spinning and have to kill the program. The PC meets the specs, I've rechecked permissions etc but it doesn't seem to like running for some reason.
System:
ASUS socket 2011 motherboard
32GB RAM
SSD OS Drive
i7 3930K
ATI 7970
Black Gold 3630 DVB S2/T2 card
Win 7 x64
I've looked in the log files but can't see anything that jumps out as obvious
Please may there be a configuration option regarding series and episode numbers in the Subtitle field. My vote would be for three options ...
1) Always add Series and Episode numbers to Subtitle.
2) Never add Series and Episode numbers to Subtitle.
3) Add Series and Episode numbers to Subtitle when Subtitle is blank.
Looking at the potential of NextPVR especially as XBMC backend i decided to uninstall FTR and go for NextPVR. The install went fine. I have a TBS6984 Quad port DVB adapter installed, working fine with FTR Argus. On each port i have 4 satellites connected, so i'm using the DiSEqC 1.x A/B/C/D option.
When scanning it finds channels but it crashes before finishing. Also i cannot see if the DiSEqC switching is working or not. This is loggen in the windows eventlog:

I have four tuners. Last night they were all in use.
One of the recordings was zero length, and another very short (15 mins of a 1 hour show).
All shows had 1 min pre-padding and 15 mins post padding.
Times below are based on the file names.
Shows were:
QI 20:00-20:32 (ABC Frequency, tuner 20)
The Bridge 20:30-21:35 (SBS Freq, tuner 22) short
Living with the Amish 20:30-21:30 (SBS freq, tuner 22) zero length
Gruen Planet 20:32-21:08 (ABC Freq, tuner 21)
Good Wife 20:34-21:36 (Ch10 Freq, tuner 23)
Kitchen Cabinet 21:31-22:03 (ABC Freq, tuner 21)
As can be seen only three frequencies are in use, although all four tuners are used.
Both failing shows are on the one tuner, but it works fine with Live TV.
Postprocessing started at the expected time (i.e. 15 mins after show end), except for the zero length file.
Log is attached.
Any idea why things are short/missing?
Martin, 1.2.3 works excellent here, quick startup too. But the fact that XBMC does not have teletext subtitle support is really a showstopper for me, very disappointion. Apart from that there's a lot I like in XBMC.
I'm a new NextPVR user, and I'm having trouble getting all of the channels that showed up in Windows Media Center to show up in NextPVR.
For reference, I'm using the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 in Cambridge (02139, near Boston), with NPVR 2.5.9.
For example, I know that channel WCVB-DT (an HD ABC station) should exist, but it doesn't show up. It used to be channel 5.3 in WMC. On the other hand, WHDH-HD (NBC HD) does exist and show up in NPVR, as (Freq:42 SID:4, which was 7.3 in WMC).
Any idea what's going on? I've been fiddling with this for hours over the past week, but most of the old forum topics here about missing channels are too old, and refer to fields that no longer exist in config.xml.
Log files are attached. One is a QAM scan, and the other is a full ATSC scan.
