Click ok
Recurring is added, there is NO pending recording added, nothing happens, Guide doesn't turn red.
If I do QuickRecord, the guide will change red but that's not very useful?
I tried this before and it worked (guide turned red, pending recording was correct) and then it didn't record. The pending recording just fell off the list, nothing recorded, nothing in the logs? Of all the aspects of NPVR, I thought this would be simplest since it's just scheduling but I've yet to really successfully get it to record on its own? Manual record works (proving everything is connected properly but that's about it).
We've been doing a lot of recordings with the HD-PVRs, and we've noticed that once in awhile we get a recording that plays, but is just a black screen and no audio.
The time look looks fine, even the comskip breaks are there and accurate.
The .ts can be played with VLC and looks great.
I attached my logs and the recording in question was the last thing played and is called The Voice.
I have setup a test channel on my ATI TV 650 using SVideo input. I have audio when viewing live tv and recorded on this first test channel. The video is only a black screen, both when I watch live tv or playback the recording.
When looking at the recorded tv folder, windows does give me a thumbnail of the recording and it is accurate. When I try to play back the .ts file, Windows Media Player crashes.
Also of note, when playing back the recording in nPVR, the OSD only shows the time and never has a playback bar visible (although I know it should be on there from the screenshots of nPVR I have seen).
I have the final RTM version of Windows 8 x64.
Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated as I am looking forward to getting nPVR working and ditching Media Center.
I'm coming over from BTV and there is a lot to like here, and I appreciate all the effort to make NPVR and NEWA a great product.
I was wondering though if the actual recording time or duration could be added somewhere to the listing for each show? I find that info very helpful with BTV as it lets me instantly tell if there was a problem with the recording, and I can reschedule it.

Also, BTV's web admin takes a more minimalistic approach to listing the recordings, just showing some basic info as shown in the picture, and you have to click the Options button to see more. By doing this you can see a lot more recordings on the screen at one time.
Not trying to be rude, callous, or anything like that, but the current table view has a lot of empty space per listing, so maybe this could be reduced down some? For example, just use one row for the 4 blue streaming buttons instead of 2 x 2 that takes up 2 rows. Just a suggestion that I'm sure you didn't want to hear.
It seems like when I add in a recurring recording NPVR goes in and adds in a whole slew of individual pending recordings for each date/time where it will record. Is this how it's supposed to work? Will NPVR continuously add in the new dates/times as it goes (I have it set to record forever but to only keep 8 recordings).
It makes it kind of difficult to manage since the pending recordings screen ends up with a TON of items as does NEWA.
I did search the forum but there are lots of black screen problems - I'm not sure if mine is related or not.
Everything was looking ok - I could select a channel to watch from the guide - great.
Now I select the channel to watch and I get a blank screen, not picture or sound. (except for the main menu burnt-in on my plasma - can the menu contrast be reduced?!).
I get blank screens for all channels now - I had a selection of blanks and some working at one point but now they are all gone.
Tried a reboot, tried restart recording service (which had fixed things before).
I'm on XP 32bit. GBPVR used to be ok but now things have moved on is this the case of I have to upgrade to win7 to keep up with a working system?
I'll try and grab some logs later - but if there are any "oh yes this is fixed by xyz" quick solutions then that would be great. (missus is giving me the "why did you upgrade it - it worked before" grilling).
So, it seems I am getting this error. I am running NPVR 2.5.5 completely bone stock with a HD homerun for OTA broadcasts. It is running on Windows with the firewall off (on its own network). I tested with manual recordings at they work fine but tonight was the first night it was supposed to go on its own. I was bummed to return to find it didn't record with this error message.
I've searched the forums and haven't really found a definitive answer as to why this happening or how it is to be fixed. Things I've seen include needing to reboot the computer or changing something in the config file. I did check for a TS file as I read sometimes it throws this error but actually does record, sadly this is not the case for me.
Using the network recorder over a remote line I get picture for some seconds but then NextPVR throws an exception while trying to update the timeline. See attached exception text, screenshot and logs.
