hi, I've been having problems with Pausing live TV. I've tried lots of different decoders but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
the problem is that when i un-pause, I either get a black screen (with sound) or, i get pixelation and then it skips bits. So at the moment, I dare not use it.
Have a new strange problem. When I pick a show to watch from the guide, the show comes up for about one second, then it flips to the guide with the show still playing (you can hear the audio). It says "please wait"... You can even pause the show, but you never see it, only the guide. You hit the exit button, the show stops and you are able to look at the guide again. I can watch pre-recorded shows no problem. If you select live tv from the main menu, you only see the main menu and the "please wait" which also never goes away until you exit.
I'm wondering, as a general rule, what format do you guys store your recordings in. Do you leave them as they come out of NPVR (TS) or do you convert them into something else. If you do convert them, what do you convert them into and what size. I'm thinking of converting by OTA recordings to 720p to make the files smaller and manageable. Any thoughts?
OK just a shot in the dark but if anyone could give me a guest account on a Sharepoint server also running SQL server I'd be very grateful. The SQL server aspect is optional as I can find another way of storing simple data.
I've been approached by a company to see if I can develop a remote data-entry system for use by their staff and I'd like to see if I can come up with a viable proof of concept. The company uses Sharepoint and its been years since I used it so I'm not sure if I can think of a way to do it without access to a system I can test on.
I'd be the only person using the guest account and promise not to do anything nasty (not sure I'd know how to).
Anyway, as I said it's just a shot in the dark. PM me if you can help and I'll explain a bit more about what I need.
This might be a dumb question...I am running Next PVR on an HP proliant n40l. I've run handbrake to convert the TS files to something more manageable from a size and format perspective. As expected, it pegs the 2 cores to 100%. I'm a little bit concerned about the heat, etc.
Short of building another machine dedicated to transcoding, is there a product that I can use in conjuction with NPVR and my HD Homerun (over the air version) to reduce load on the processors?
Sub, when trying the transcode page from a remote computer I get a message here that says that ffmpeg.exe wants to display a message. When I click View it opens a command prompt window but there is no text in it. However another window shows up from NDigitalHost giving some details about the device, oid etc. I have AllowRemoteStreaming and AllowRemoteTranscode set to true in config.xml. Any ideas?
When looking at the recordings ready for watching I just get a big list. Is it possible to view this grouped according to series. I remember gbpvr used to display the series name, and they were also stored in their own directories as well.
Has the heirachical view been dropped?
Went to go watch TV tonight, as I knew the PVR had recorded some stuff. Turns out nothing recorded since finishing a show from around 3:00 in the morning. Tried to watch live tv, but I had to restart the service to be able to watch. Kind of strange.
Here are my log files if anyone wants to have a look.
