After installing the new TVListings with genre colors which needs to run xmltvextras in postupdateepg.bat, it seems that this bat is not being run after epg update. I don't think it has been running for me in nPVR at all.
Logs attached.
Logs also show an error regarding UpdateRecurringRecording() that Martin mentioned I should bring to your attention, but should probably be a separate thread.
I know I have done this before without a problem but now when I try to change the channel number for a channel it just produces a

Several DVB channels provides me with multiple audio streams and embedded subtitles in my ts recording files. How do I get to choose what audio track to use and subtitle to display.
I am mostly playing things on the PCHs and I have been able to switch audio track using the audio key on the PCH remote but no sign of subtitles.
In GBPVR I remember an option to extract the subtitle to a srt file but i cannot find that setting in NPVR? The only thing related is the config setting subtitle which I have set to swe.
Delete or ignore this post if it's blasphemous, but I have been spending some time with WMC 7 lately and there are some things I really like about it.
- Fast forward and rewind on recorded TV. It's nice to be able to fast forward as opposed to just skipping. This functioned well in GBPVR with the .dvr-ms format, but does not seem to work well with .ts recordings and is not part of the NMT extender experience.
- Movie finder. There's a Movies menu on WMC where it locates all the upcoming movies on the EPG. I'm sure there's a way to do this in NPVR or GBPVR, but I haven't figured it out yet. This feature seems really handy to me.
I would like to try the Xbox 360 as an extender to compare it to the PCH experience.
Unfortunately, the primary use of NPVR in our household is for watching recorded TV. We have had numerous issues with .ts file timelines, skipping, etc. that have just about ruined the WAF with GBPVR and NPVR. When the Mrs. saw how smoothly WMC moved through recordings she mentioned that would be nice...
To be fair, there are a number of things NPVR does better than WMC. For me, the major items are the following:
- Multi-stream recording on QAM. I would need two more tuners with WMC to be able to capture the same things that I record every Wednesday and Thursday night. This is the two-edged sword of .ts files. Cool multi-stream abilities saddled with unpredictable timelines and playback issues.
- Extender support. The PCH is a great addition to the entertainment center with its ability to play Blu-ray rips, DVD rips and interface with NPVR. From what I can gather the Xbox 360 is more limited in its abilities.
is there a way to have digital and analog channels on the same virtual channel without them appearing twice in the guide? for example, I have 2 analog tuners and 2 digital tuners--they can all tune to channel 3. is it possible for channel 3 to follow the device priority, so when i record or watch channel 3, it reflects whatever is on the first device unless that device is being used, then it moves to the next one down the list. Right now, my analog channel 3 and my digital channel 3 show up twice on the guide.
Under pvrx2, i could manually add a channel into the configuration file if a channel scan didn't pick up a particular channel. Is there a way to do that with nPVR?
Worthy of a small "woo" I guess, although I'd rather have Film4 HD
Basically negates any need to get a Freeview HD tuner now, which is good for me as my Freeview reception can fluctuate quite a bit during the year (due to trees).
Has anyone been able to decrypt the TS stream offline. I used to be able to do this with GBPVR and Offline Descrambler with NCEmucam.
Now I use CCcam to access the card I can't get it to work. I'm not sure if there is a change in the way NPVR records the stream compared to GBPVR or if it's CCcam that's the problem.
If anyone has managed to do it I would appreciate a little help
So, this is pretty off-topic, but that's what this forum is for...
Anyone else around here all geeked up for the Centennial of US Naval Aviation? 100 years ago the first naval aircraft landed on the water, was hoisted aboard a US Navy cruiser off the coast of San Diego, then returned to the water and took off again. Thus began the combination of air and sea power.
I'll be down in San Diego on Naval Air Station - North Island in two weeks to see the big kick-off event of the year. The big highlight will be an aerial parade of 190 aircraft spanning the entire history of naval aviation, including a 30 plane flight from the John C Stennis carrier strike group.
here's a couple of shots of Navy or Marine aircraft I've taken which don't completely suck and have already been cropped down to a more reasonable size for uploading
After having a variety of sleep, client, PCH and other minor issues, I rebuilt my main DVR box. (specs below). Actually it was just a reload of Vista and only the minimum programs. After Martin helped me sort the final PCH issues things are working awsome! The PC client is streaming in HD on a wireless G network with almost no stutters, the PCH is solid, boots easy, and wakes the server. The server now sleeps and wakes as needed. I am an awe of how well everything is working. Thanks to Sub, martin, johnson4x2 and everyone else for getting the entire package working so well together. The WAF is getting higher by the day. I finally can get family using it again.
Sort of a support Q....My daughter is 19 months old and today she was sick so I had to stay home, whilst trying to get some work done I sat her in front of the TV while I was in the kitchen on the laptop. At least twice she managed to find the volume control of the mono block amps and crank them up to 11...she sh*t her self...she turned the dac off....she bought me the remote at least 3 times which is an indication that she "broke something", she found the keyboard a couple of times and she managed to power down the pc twice. grrrr
A couple of things I was impressed with:
She managed to turn on the tv and get to live tv without me being in the room
and the point:
I walked in the lounge to check on her at one point and she had the keyboard in her hand...it appeared as though she had an inset picture in the top left 1/4 of the screen and I think the guide underneath...as soon as I lifted the keyboard from her hands it went back to full screen so she must have been holding a key down, is this a known/intended function...or only a sleep deprived halucination?
