I'm still wrestling with this problem, and I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Standard definition channels seem to work, but most of our channels are HD. Surprisingly, if I record an HD channel, it plays back with video.

I've tried the ffdshow decoder, which worked well in GB-PVR, as well as the Cyberlink and ArcSoft decoders, all with no success.
The attached logs should indicate that I tuned to an SD channel, which displayed video, then I stopped and selected an HD channel.
I have 2 tuner cards. One has standard cable with 76 channels and the other is attached to a digital box and has 240 channels. The first 76 channels on the digital device is the same as the standard cable channels. After importing the channels for each device, I see the first 76 channels duplicated. When Importing channels for your devices, is that "telling" NPVR what channels each device can "see" or is it to simply populate the list of channels?
Curious problem here--I click on a recording and the screen turns black but the system seems to be working looking or trying to load the file to no avail. I exit back to the main screen and try again and this time it works. This happens when I first try to watch something after a reboot or a wake from sleep. All subsequent recordings can be viewed after the initial glitch.
Lately I'v had a few cases of scheduled recordings that has stopped early, last night a recording was supposed to start at 04:20 and record until 05:10. In the log I can see the recording start at 04:17 (11. jan 2011), which is correct since I have 3 min pre-padding. But the recording stops at 05:18, and since I have 8 min of post-padding it should have stopped at 05:28.
Hi, I am having trouble with the channel scan-- I am using silicondust HD HomeRun, hooked up to comcast digital cable-- I get channels just fine for live TV viewing using the silicondust app, QuickTV, but I cannot seem to get NPVR to recognize channels on the scan, when I select QAM on the device tab....NPVR sees that the tuner is connected, but wont find channels....any tips? I've tried default cable frequencies, default 70+, HRC, HRC 70+, etc.......??
I added NPVR to my firewall exceptions, and Nrecord.exe
I am running Vista
It appears that the closed captions are not being retained during analog recordings (RCA inputs nor RF input). They are, however, retained during any QAM or ATSC recordings.
First day with NPVR as main TV app, long time GBPVR user (I had it tweaked so well...). Now to work out any issues before the wife misses too many shows (she is looking at me right now with... that look)
Scheduled Recordings seem to stay past their end time. Also, they seem to only record the first few seconds before no more. i.e from the uploaded image, and logs, The Bachelor taped for 18 seconds, and Lie to Me taped for 1:18. While testing earlier I noticed a recording go for only 18 seconds as well. Not sure if coincidence or relevant.
I have 4 Tuners and in the image 5 are recording, one duplicated which may be my fault or at least easily fixable..
Tuner setup went flawless. Thanks for creating an option to set tuner priority, and disable option. Thanks for adding schedules direct native support.
I went to stop the NPVR recording service to zip the log files. after i zipped, i went to restart the recording service and I got a crash dump file. attached is the dump.
The attempt to restart the NPVR recording service the 2nd time worked. 4 recordings started, and got only 4 seconds in before ending. still show as recording...
Logs are attached. they were running for less than 2 hours before the crash so there shouldn't be too much in there.
Thanks in advance for any help.
NPVR 1.5.36, windows XP
I have XP. I have SAF installed and EVR is working--except in saved recordings, EVR lags a little bit. So EVR works just fine in Live TV, but not in playing back I'm assuming there is a way to fix that? I hope... Thoughts anyone?
Hello.
Using npvr 1.5.36. I can configure TV Listings plugin but when I go to launch it I either get nothing, or the attached .net error.
image and logs attached. I removed the logs, started recording service, launched npvr, cursored to TV listings, pressed enter and nothing happened. Pressed enter again and got the attached .net error.
I am trying to upgrade from GBPVR to NPVR. I have stopped everything to do with GBPVR (service & autorun entries). I start NPVR and try to run a scan for channels (settings>devices>highlight tuner>device setup>set country & region>scan), but I get the error shown. I have read through the forums, but could not find a similar problem. I enclose the logs, although I think the problem is here:
Any ideas anyone?? I have tried the "Keep digital graphs constructed" option in the Misc tab of the settings (as it seemed as if it had something to do with graphs), as well as choosing different decoders in the decoders tab, but I am still getting the same problem on both tuners on my Asus DTV card.
