GB-PBVR found 22 ATSC channels using my HVR-2250. NPVR is only finding a max of 17. I've tried numerous rescans and deleting, new scans and that's all I get. Any thoughts on this? I found some issues with QAM but not ATSC in the forum.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys. I'm keen to have a go at recording Sky directly - getting sick of terrible quality composite recordings via the decoder, so I need a DVB-S2 tuner card. Problem is my machine is a bit old and I don't have PCI-E, so I'm on the look out for a Hauppauge PVR-4000. Anyone got one they want to sell, or know where I can get hold of one?

I searched in the forums and did not see anything on this topic. I would like to upgrade to NPVR and have it working on the PC. Have not played with the old MVP or the dongle for NPVR. My question is does/wil NPVR support the Hauppauge MediaMVP-HD device.

I am trying to setup my analog device and in the Analog Recorder Settings window I Imported my XMLTV.XML file. This gave me all of my channels, but I am not sure what the number column is exactly. My channels go up to 946 but every single one of them has the number 947 in the number column. Did I do something wrong?

Martin, I wonder if you can see what is wrong with my setup. It has been crook for weeks, now, with only very brief flashes of sanity. Basically, I just can't get NPVR running. There seems to be something wrong with the PCH and my share access. It just can't see c:\mvpmc even though it is set to share with Everyone and Guest. Othe PCs on the network can see all my shares and run all media files with no problem at all.

What it can do:- From 'Media Sources' (with the icons) the PCH can see all photos, music and video and play them. It can get Internet radio and all Internet streams no problem.

Problem areas.
-In PCH setup I can't set a network share. It finds my PC and after that says 'No content on server'.
- If I browse to PCname/Lin it allows me to click 'Folders' and then displays F: and clicking that it displays My Music (this is on F, then it quirkily displays only three music folders out of about 10.
- Running NPVR link scripts results in a blank screen and, if I'm lucky, it eventually does the soft boot thing, otherwise it is power disconnect time again.

Probably due to the power plug moves, the PCH lost its settings so that had to be redone.

I am sorry to be a nuisance but I am embarrassed to say I am stumped. I ran your NMT install program this morning and the result is just the same.

The logs relate to 8 Oct around 0930.

Was hoping (at some point) to be able to get an element that can be drawn under the Guide and Channels elements in the Guide.xml.

Currently any background graphics attached to GuideDateTime, GuideTimeLine or SelectedShowDetails are drawn over the guide and channel elements.

There is a new API available for iMON (the VFD/LCD display) that many HTPC cases are equipped with.
I am a bad boy to cross-post info about it here so noone misses it. I think it is that important!

I guess we need some sort of support in NPVR to fully support this. I am thinking some kind of event API from NPVR that a plugin dev can hook into and "subscribe" to the kind of events he is interested in. That "code pattern" is common in Java for getting events for a GUI for instance. You just become a listener of a type, register yourself and recieve event of the type you want. For NPVR that could be "new music file started: name mysong.mp3, etc etc". The listener interface has it´s strength in that it is not polling. Polling is bad and takes resources when not needed. The listener interface would be more "interrupt" driven. Then of course we would neeed to get the standard stuff like pending recordings, currently playing etc. And those would have to come from standard API methods.
I haven't looked into how to develop plugins but this would be something I would want...
The support for external displays has been medioker in gb-pvr and only been possible via clumsy external hooks. Is the time here to change that?

P.S I might be persuaded to look into Windows programming again if there was enough demand on a plugion of this sort D.S

EDIT: I tried installing this and it went without issues on my win 7 x64. The USB iMON device got it's driver. However the program refuse to start, saying my HW is ANTEC VFD and not iMON VDF. So for some it might work, but not for me as it seems. :mad:

I was searching for an upgraded version of the iMON sofware for my VFD display on my Antec Fusion case and stumbled upon a new release from Soundgraph, the authors of iMON SW/HW.

There is a new API available that hooks into the iMON manager in plugin mode and takes full control over it. Supports both VFD and LCD mode + all icons. Even equalizer-data can be set.

This API would be a perfect base for a new plugin for NPVR that could display all sorts of data on the VFD/LCD without the hassle of using LCDSmartie, generating external text strings etc. It would be perfectly integrated in the plugin code. If I was a bit more fluent on Windows programming I would start right away, unfortunaltely I am more on the Java side :o.

I've just upgraded from GB-PVR to N-PVR 1.5.31.
I haven't got it set to start in fullscreen, and when I click on the maximize button it goes to fullscreen as expected, but I can't find a way to go back to a window from fullscreen.
