Would there be any benefit to using a copy of a debloated ver of win 11 such as Tiny 11 for NextPVR?

I’m new to nextpvr. I’ve been looking for a ‘one size fits all’ solution for my IPTV needs. So far nextpvr has been great. One issue I have found is the following:

When playing a stream fullscreen using the web app, I have a large black bar at the bottom of the screen. I have tested this on chrome, safari and opera – all the same. I’ve also tested multiple different channels from multiple locations, no difference. When not in fullscreen mode, the stream seems to align quite well with the browser window, relatively speaking.
I haven’t been able to find any ‘aspect ratio’ settings on the server. I’m not someone particularly adversed to black bars when watching a movie, but this is a bit of an eye-sore as it fills the whole screen barring about 200px at the bottom.

A similar problem is on the iOS app on an iPhone 12, iPad seems to be fine, black bars top and bottom but equally sized.

I could understand if this is an aspect issue, but using apps dedicated to IPTV, I don’t have this problem.

Hi all,

I am having trouble with the EPG on a fresh installation of NextPVR version 6.1.1.221106 on Ubuntu 22.04 using a Hauppauge 2200 DVB-T.

It took two scans for all of the channels in Melbourne, Australia to appear, however, when I tried to update the EPG (using DVB/ATSC) only two channel sets (ABC and Channel 10) had appeared. I noticed that it claimed to skip far more than it inserted into the guide:
EPG Update complete. [4860 inserted, 0 updated, 24727 skipped]

Subsequent attempts to update the EPG just gave: [0 inserted, 0 updated, 0 skipped]

I restarted the nextpvr-server (via service command), and this enabled it to run another round of updating the EPG, however there are still several channels missing from the EPG. How do I make the other channels populate in the EPG?

I probably posted this before, and I searched to see if I could find any updates.


Is there a way to re-order the channel numbers so that they are not randomly presented as per the satellite scan

Is there a way to stop the NextPVR service from advertising its existence to clients?  I have two servers but I only want one of them to automatically show up in the client.

So in the NextPVR guide, I routinely see an issue with spacing between an episode title and the 'plot' text:

It seems to me NextPVR is smushing the episode title and plot together, but without a needed space.

Any chance that could be tidied up?  It seems to only affect shows that habe a title + blurb - shows that seem to have just a blurb read fine.

Read through various threads of older versions of NextPVR issues with DST.

These are the symptoms:
- pi4 set to proper time, proper timezone
- nextpvr ui, viewed through firefox, shows the hours of the program guide off by 1 hour (everything starts an hour earlier)
- recordings are now starting, according to the program guide ui, one hour early
- when looking at the specific scheduled recordings, everything shows to start (and end) one hour early

i've checked the time on the pi, rebooted the pi, it's still having this issue.

Should i retrieve the program guide, could that solve it? [eta: no did not solve it]

Do you need the logs to see if anything's off?

[eta: so example: "battleground" on TCM, 51.15 should start recording at 10.15am central dst, but in the program guide, and program details, it shows as 9.15am start time. all channels, and all program entries, and all scheduled recording times are off by one hour]
[eta: linux terminal 'date' and 'timedatectl' says that time is correctly set to CDT timezone]

Hi Sub,

with RECURRDING_RECORDINGS - do you take the "priority" value into account when making a decision on scarce tuner availability?

I see that the currently priority value is same as the oid value, however there's no way to change the order on the web UI.

Does anybody know where to get a freesat EPG line-up in xml format

I am trying to record a show which starts at 11:20 pm and ends at 1:20 am. I had set up the same type recording yesterday and the recording stopped at 12 am. I just went in to the recording I set up for tonight (I was going to extend it an hour for daylight savings switch over) and it won't let me set it beyond 12am.
