Hi I have had GBPVR running for several years using MVP's with no issues. I have recently upgrading one to a PCH A-110. I have got GBPVR running on the box but when I try to access my Shared folders on my WHS it just sits trying to connect but then fails. It shows no messages. I tried setting up a share on my GBPVR server and I have access to this. I have access to all folders from GBPVR on the server and from my existing MVP's. I have enabled guest access with no password on the WHS. Any suggestions?
1) record, during live viewing, or recorded playback:
whenever users press certain remote buttons, like MUTE/UNMUTE, FFWD, PAUSE, etc, that might indicate that a commercial break has just happened
what channel they were watching
the exact time they pressed the button (relative to the programme screening time)
a unique identifier for the programme, such as the Country+Channel+Title+Description.
2) upload that info to a central internet server, where it is aggregated with all other users data, to produce a master schedule, including the most likely places commercials started and ended. Various factors could weight the results, e.g. MUTE buttons being more likely to indicate the start of a commercial; or somehow "learning" which users are more accurate than others.
3) download that data and use it instead of, or alongside, Comskip-type file-scanning software.
4) sync'd to the same clock.
The more people take part, the more accurate the data becomes.
And once the server is established, there's probably no reason why it couldn't be used for downloading/uploading schedules too.
I imagine it would be per-country based.
Unfortunately, I'm in no position to help implement any of this. But I thought I'd throw the idea out there, in case anyone wants to pick it up.
Hi, is there any guide to using an iMon VFD and Remote package?
I see there is an iMon VFD plugin, but it's the remote that I've never really made use of. I vaguely recall it may be a matter of setting up a whole lot of key mappings and using a 3rd-party plugin, but hazy on the details now.
Also I'm currently on 1.4.7, but will solution(s) for 1.4.7 also work for NPVR?
are there play events like in gbpvr yet? [for Imon plugin display]
i figured i'd have to rewrite it but hadn't seen anything about the events which it relies upon..
all my machines have vfd's and i just got drive temperature display working on them..
also, what was the new remote post-message code and is the keylist the same?
thanx
Quote:(I was thinking of running it through a TS fixer program after the audio was done as I hardly watch anything in progress or live)
I was thinking of post-processing my recordings through some sort of TS Fixer, as I sometimes get timeline corruption due to some minor signal glitch. So may I ask what program you were thinking of JohnnyCam, or what program anyone else might recommend?
I use the Genre filter on GBPVR a lot to find movies and kids stuff, and just noticed that it's missing from NEWA (drop down just left of date on TV Guide screen).
I've encountered a minor snag I don't seem to be able to solve. I went to stream something from EWA earlier and discovered that the 'Stream' button was unavailable. No big deal, simply a matter of pointing EWA to the correct location of VLC (in the Program Files (x86) folder).
However, I still can't get the stream to work. I click 'Stream', then 'Start Stream', but no joy, the player cannot connect. On further investigation, the server isn't starting VLC (not according to Task Manager at any rate), and the GBPVR log files show no indication that EWA is trying to do anything.
I've been searching everywhere and can't seem to find it.
The release notes for the initial beta of NPVR said that there was support for North American digital closed captions. How do I enable it?
