I use an application called TV Rename. It has an option to download thumbnails and episode details from The TV DB. it stores the details in nfo files (where the name matches the episode) in the format below (example "lie to me" episode 215.) the thumbnails are .dbn extension.

I know that WIz' Metadata grabber does collect data in the correct format, but there are so many other utilities that will pull xmbc compatible metadata. I think it would be cool if NPVR could make use of these.
When I open PVRX2 and start LiveTV the screen gets black for a second and then I'm in the main menu again. When I use the TuningAssistant I find all channels and everything is working there.
I got my EPG file with mc2xml which seems to be working. I can choose to record something but never watch it.
My card is Hauppauge WinTV PCI-FM.
I tried various configurations wherever I was unsure, but I always got this result.
Any idea what might cause this?
This will probably be yet another stupid question from me and I am sure that the answer is right under my nose. But, I currently have one PCH A-100 installed and one MVP on a Win7 box using GB-PVR v. 1.4.7. I would like to replace the MVP with an A-110 that I just purchased. The question that I have searched for an answer for is: How do I do it? Do I just rerun the installer or just edit the configuration file?
I apologize if this is elementary level stuff that is right under my nose, but my search fu is week please.
Can anyone tell me if there is a Hauppauge single hybrid tuner card with the same ATSC tuner sensitivity as the HVR-2250? I asked Hauppauge if any of the single tuner cards use the same chip as the HVR-2250 and they said no. I really want a better tuner in my upstairs PC but I don't want to spend the $ on another HVR-2250.
My wish list for a maximally useful skin.
- Clean and uncomplicated
- A TV Guide that maximises the number of channels and hours visible on the screen. The old blue skin was pretty good but if possible more channels would be better. The more channels you can see the fewer times you need to scroll back over the program guide.
- A Videos screen that maximises the number of items listed on the screen. This makes searching through long lists of movies and recordings more effective. Old blue skin was pretty good for this.
- Vertical scrolling Main Menu - like the old blue skin. The vertical scrolling menus allow you to see lots of menu items.
If anyone else is interested in a skin of this type or has similar wishlist items then please add comments. If someone is kind enough to develop a skin of this type then please let us know.
Can a plugin direct NPVR to use a different named font or colour for an element than than the default defined by the skin? Using @is values to do this is cumbersome and I figure I must be missing something.
Everything else is working except playback.
It was working last night don't know what happened.
live tv works and it will still record.
When I click play the black play scren comes up then it reverts back to the list of recordings:confused:
Any Ideas?
I've been having some problems with GBPVR on my computer and hopefully someone here can help me figure them out. I'm running windows 7 and I have an ATI TV Wonder 650 attached via USB. I've noticed recently that after I restart my computer and click on the recording status option in the GBPVR tray icon I see 8 different capture sources listed, all described as "Tuner 1:" without a status listed. When this happens, I can go to live TV and all I see is a black screen for a moment then it reverts back to the GBPVR menu.
I've found a way to fix this problem by going into the config screen, clicking on the capture sources tab and then clicking ok. I didn't really do anything in the config menu but I still get a restarting message and then my capture source is only listed as a single, correctly named, source. After I do this, my live TV option works as expected.
On a side note, I first tried using the stop/restart commands in the start menu to get my capture sources fixed but they did not appear to do the same thing as going into the config screen.
In addition, the capture sources periodically revert back to the 8 incorrectly listed capture sources and everything stops working again. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Obviously with this type of behavior happening setting a recording schedule becomes difficult because I never know when it will all crap out.
Not really sure how to describe the problem but since i upgraded my system from an analogue tuner to a digital (HVR-4400) I am expericencing huge problems with my NMT setup. I see the same behavoiour for both GBPVR and NPVR. When selecting a channel to watch it seams to me it that my tuner need some additional time before it start to stream the file (it does not happen all the time but often). This in turn confuses the MVPVCX2 who probably tries to stream a file which is not quite ready? This results in a black screen and the only way to get it back is to unplug the NMT.
I can see this delay quite clearly when watching on the computer, that sometimes the tuner needs up to 20 sec before i see a picture and the file is created.
Is there any logs I should look at or is there a way to delay the time prior to MVPMCX2 starts to stream the file.
