Is it just me, or have we stopped picking up the details for Film4, ITV4 and a few others. I'm on the Sandy Heath transmitter.

  ASUS O!Play media players
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2010-07-22, 06:45 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

Anyone know anything about these new ASUS media players?
http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=aLsLIiFYl0Jw0H9Q

Patriot also has a similar sort of device called the BoxOffice: http://www.patriotmem.com/products/detai...95&type=20

I saw yet another one that looked just like the Patriot unit, but I've forgotten what it was called or who made it (oh, here it is, the Hornettek Phantom http://www.hornettek.com/index.php/hdd-m...ta/phantom). I suspect these are all the same basic unit being customized by these various vendors.

Anyone know anything about any of these?

I'm assuming they're not NMT's, but I wonder if they could become extenders for NPVR one day?

Recording static, not channel and search question
Posted by: curt1s - 2010-07-21, 10:08 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hello,

I have 3 questions:

1. In NPVR how can I search for shows like GBPVR supported?
2. In NPVR how can I specify external tuner, fixed channel like GBPVR?
3. When I try to record all i get is static. GBPVR records fine on the same card. What log files can I attach here for analysis for NPVR?

Thanks!

  Fanless ION2 dual core
Posted by: sub - 2010-07-21, 07:35 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (31)

We've seen lots of cool ION/ION2 devices announced over the last 18 months or so, many of which never seem to materialise.

The latest I've seen is this one: http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=iIZKMXSj0jZKiebE. Dual core atom, fanless, 802.11n, USB3, etc. Apparently its already available from some European online retailers. If only it had popped up a week earlier... I could have used by birthday as an excuse to buy myself a present Big Grin

  Where to get TV Guide?
Posted by: aiu0835 - 2010-07-21, 05:33 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

I just installed NPVR to use with Hauppauge HD PVR 1212. However, I'm not sure where or how to get the TV Guide? What plugins or utilities do I need?

Does NPVR support hauppauge MVP running MVPMC
Posted by: StevHodge - 2010-07-21, 01:30 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

In GB-PVR you could select the dongle to be downloaded into the Hauppauge MVP, and mine worked best with the MVPMC dongle. There isn't such an option in settings on NPVR - suppose it is in some configuration file somewhere.
The MVPs don't seem to work properly with NPVR, and I think they are downloading the Hauppauge dongle. Certainly don't get the MVP screens, there is no sound on the playback, and I can't exit once a video has started playing , maybe other problems too
Could someone post me a childs guide to getting the MVPs running MVPMC to work with NPVR

  AverTV Digi Super 007
Posted by: camo82 - 2010-07-21, 08:39 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Hi there,

I've just bought this card today. I have installed it, and it is working flawlessly with the AverTV software that came with the card.

In GB-PVR, I have full EPG and perfect sound - but only a BLACK SCREEN.

I have tried changing the renderer etc, to no avail.

P.S. This card is not in the supported card list in GB-PVR, but the program automatically detected my card as another AverTV card with very similar spec....

Little help?

Will multiple independent instances of NPVR be possible?
Posted by: peter_h - 2010-07-21, 02:52 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

I have 4 monitors in different rooms of the house connected to 1 mediaServer via 2 video cards. Ideally, I'd like to be able to run multiple, independent instances of the PVR GUI on each screen.

Is that going to be possible with NPVR?

Duplicate the video window on multiple monitors
Posted by: peter_h - 2010-07-21, 02:23 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

I have a scenario where my mediaServer has 4 monitors connected to 2 graphics cards.
1 goes to the kitchen, 1 to the kitchen "bar" (between dining and kitchen), 1 to the lounge (open plan to kitchen) and 1 to a bedrooom.

What I'd like is the ability to be able to duplicate the currently playing video in additional windows located in any of these monitors. So that, for instance, whomever is cooking and listening to the show that is playing in the lounge (audio is also fed to the kitchen area) can also watch it playing from the kitchen monitors. Or even have it playing on only 1 kitchen monitor while leaving the other free for a recipe in a browser, say.

Technically, I believe this can be done by inserting the standard "Infinite Tee Filter" into the DirectShow graph, just after the video decoder, and connecting it to additional renderers. I've done some experiments using GraphStudio and managed to achieve it easily, connecting up an additional 3 duplicate windows.

So even if the UI isn't implemented anytime soon, it would be great if the API functions to do this were added to NPVR, so it could be developed further by a plugin developer. (I may be tempted to jump into plugin development myself if the API functions were available for this and no-one else was keen Smile ).
