NVPR is too smart :0) - is there a way to add a "fake" recording device for dev work
Posted by: carpeVideo - 2010-06-15, 03:34 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I do most of my development on a machine with no actual capture device. That wasn't a problem with GBPVR as I could add an analog device that didn't exist and then add an EPG attached to that. With NPVR there is no way to do that. Does anyone know how to fool it to give a selection option in devices in the setting screen???

  Tuner XMLTV channel mapping
Posted by: Graham - 2010-06-15, 03:33 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

UK DVB-T. Devices default to DVB EPG. Good choice.

I can change DVB EPG to XMLTV and XMLTV to None. I cannot change XMLTV or None to DVB EPG.

I have tried the changes after pressing the Details button and after pressing the Bulk button.

Plus how can I change all channels from DVB EPG to XMLTV with "one click" ?

I just found that I can hold down the Ctrl key and select channels with the mouse and then press the Delete button to be rid of the selected channels. Bye bye shopping channels. This is also good.

  Device setup copy
Posted by: Graham - 2010-06-15, 03:24 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I use UK DVB-T. Device setup and scanning works really well. Huge improvement on PVRX2.

A message pops up asking me if I want top copy an existing device. This is good.

But ...

I can't force a copy after a rescan. My vote would be for Copy and Paste buttons at the bottom of the Devices tab page.

  Video in top left corner
Posted by: Graham - 2010-06-15, 03:07 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (55)

NVPR gives me a naff display for Live TV and when playing recordings. The video is one quarter size and in the top left. Right clicking and fiddling with Aspect Ratio changes the size of the video but the display slows to about one frame per second. Tried several decoders (PDVD9, ffdshow, Mainconcept) ... problem persists.

Decoders are the same as in PVRX2. I can't reproduce the problem in PVRX2 ... it's good with VMR9 FSE and VMR9 Custom.

Video is Nvidia 8200.

HVR-2250 Blaster Dropping Digits when Changing Channels on D12-100 DirecTV Receiver
Posted by: amadams - 2010-06-15, 02:16 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I have an HVR-2250 card and a DirecTV D12-100 satelite receiver. When changing channels in WinTV 7 or GB-PVR some of the digits in the channel number are dropped. Sometimes it is the first digit and sometimes it is the first 2 digits. Has anyone got the IR blaster that plugs into the card working properly?

Also, I have noticed that haupblast.exe in GB-PVR does not seem to work with the new Hauppauge blaster software. If IR32.exe is not running I cannot use the non-MCE 45 button remote from my HVR-1600 in GB-PVR. I wasn't even going to try the MCE style remote that came with the HVR-2250. I am using GB-PVR 1.4.7.

  Any plans for NPVR?
Posted by: b00sfuk - 2010-06-15, 11:30 AM - Forum: Slimm GB-PVR and GBPVRcli - Replies (8)

Hi Mister Slimm, any plans for updating your utilities for NPVR or have you moved on (I read you no longer use GB-PVR)?
I think some of the tray icon function is now in NPVR but I'm particularly interested in GBPVRCli. If it is dead anybody know of an alternative way to get future recordings out of the database and into a text file.
thanks again.

  VMR rendering (and window aspect)
Posted by: speising - 2010-06-15, 08:14 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

hi sub!

this is, what VMR9 and 7 output looks on my machine in NPVR. EVR works, but there's the well known analog black bars problem...
additionally (a small thing only, since i wouldn't normally use it windowed), the window always displays in 19:9, even though i configured it to 4:3.
it resets itself to 4:3 the moment i try to resize it.

alternate .ini to reduce us atsc scanning time
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2010-06-15, 04:03 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

For US ATSC, channels 2-6 (VHF-LO) are rarely used, and UHF channels above 51 (the 700mhz band) have been re-allocated for other uses. Also, Channel 37 is not used (it's reserved for SETI or something like that?). So there's little point in scanning those physical channels.

The attached .ini file can be placed in the NPVR\tuning\atsc directory, and then selected from the Frequencies drop down in the channel scan dialog. This reduces the number of scanned channels from 68 to 44.

As far as I recall the same file will work with GB-PVR as well.

  NMT crashing on seek
Posted by: drbenjamin - 2010-06-15, 03:58 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (18)

Hey guys

had trouble with a show tonight, an episode of Stargate Universe (Stargate Universe_20100611_18001900.ts). Recorded on an HD-PVR, ran comskip, and tried to playback on my eGreat m34A. About 2/3 through the show the audio started to break up and the player quit back to the GB-PVR screen. I dropped my MVP servers to 1 (for logs) and then tried to manually skip forward to the end of the show. The attached logs show about 6 attempts; every time I tried to skip it would advance the audio but leave a static image for video, then crash to the GB-PVR UI. ANy help appreciated, I can also telnet to the m34a if that would help.

  Recording directory
Posted by: pcostanza - 2010-06-15, 03:36 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I changed the recording directory, restarted NPVR but did not reboot and it has not changed. Settings show it correctly as does config
<RecordingDirectory>G:\Recorded TV\</RecordingDirectory>
Originally, it was set on the same drive (G) but I wanted it in a separate folder. Can't reboot as I'm recording but should one be needed?
