  No video/audio
Posted by: Hal2010 - 2010-06-17, 02:27 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (57)

I should probably start by saying that I am new to NPVR, and have never installed GB-PVR. Instead I plunged straight into NPVR understanding that it is beta, and without ‘carried-forward’ files. I found the installation straight forward; maybe too straight-forward given what’s happened.
I have:
read through the user manual, installed vcredist x86.zip, installed NPVR, configured the system including tuning my Hauppauge Nova T 500 (not the TD as I think was the device identified during the install) , searched the forums, and tried the various codec(settings/decoders). I have also tried Live TV, Watch, and Open File playback with the results below. From what has happened I suspect the codec but thought I might save myself some grief, if before I start fooling around, I get some expert help. As a bit of extra info; I have/can use WinTV v7 (with ArcSoft ASAudio.ax and ASVid.ax), PowerCinema 5 to watch/record DVB. Yes, both are still installed but were not running. I use Vista Ultimate (kept up to date), and meet the minimum computer system requirements.
Live TV
No video or audio. I have tried various codec combinations.
With some I get ‘...please wait...’ and then the system goes ‘not responding’. On other occaisions I get a black screen (on one of my tries the channel indicator showed that I was able to change channels). I’ve had ‘device failed to start’ but I cannot recreate this at the moment. You get the idea!
TV Guide
No video or audio with ‘watch’.
Record seems to work OK as I can playback with PowerDVD9 and WinTV v7 but not with ‘open files’.
I have the utility InstalledCodec installed and can give you further details if required.
Sorry if this post is too verbose and contrary to protcol. I was unsure of how much detail you would need.

  Resume playback
Posted by: fhmanas - 2010-06-17, 02:16 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Where is the resume option. Whenever I exit watching a video and play again, it starts at the beginning. Anyway to resume from where I left off?

  What is Test3

Just wondering, what is Test3 for, aside from the obvious test, but what does it represent?

How to silence World Cup vuvuzelas
Posted by: time_lord - 2010-06-17, 01:54 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi, saw an article suggesting ways to silence World Cup vuvuzelas. (There's also talk of the BBC putting in a noise filter...)

Has anyone thought about activating a filter like this? I guess it's not a GBPVR thing but more related to the audio filters used...

Web Radio 3.0 on GB-PVR (Classic)
Posted by: mvallevand - 2010-06-17, 12:45 AM - Forum: UbuStream, Web Radio and Universe - Replies (5)

I thought I'd provide a status report on whether I'd back port Web Radio 3.0 for 1.4.7 and the short answer is "I'm not sure". NPVR video playback on the PCH for me is currently useless so I am torn, since I've written what I think is a nice enhancement that realistically I can't even use and I don't really know when this will change. PCH support is not sub's priority, and that's fine with me because it is his project, but GBPVR does take my time if have to create a 1.4.7 plugin, I will just postpone further support for NPVR until there is a stable NMT client.

  Black screen on QAM viewing
Posted by: soccerdad - 2010-06-16, 09:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi Sub,

The patch for the HVR1800 worked for me to get my scans. Thanks. Now I am getting a black screen when I select a known good frequency from the guide. Logs are complaining about a missing DLL?

EWA recording failed for HD chans only
Posted by: drbenjamin - 2010-06-16, 04:07 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (2)

All

I posted this in the main support forum not realizing EWA had it's own forum. After a few months of trouble free operation, I've run into a problem. I have 2 SD capture sources and an HD-PVR. Recently, wen I try to schedule a recording on an HD channel through EWA I get a red "recording failed" box. No problems scheduling recordings on SD channels through EWA, and no problems scheduling recordings on the GB-PVR UI for both SD and HD. I installed the latest version of EWA this AM but that didn't help.I am trying to figure out what is going wrong, but as far as I can see no logs are created by EWA. Any pointers on how to chase this down? Could it be a corrupt extendedEWA.db3?

TIA

  NPVR NewStyleButtonListPlugin request
Posted by: whurlston - 2010-06-16, 03:18 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (4)

Would it be possible to get an Initialise(UiList.ViewMode viewMode) override so that the list does not have to be populated twice if you want to start in ViewMode.COVERS? Or is there a better way to do this?

Code:
protected override void Initialise() { base.Initialise(); // PopulateList called here. uiList.SetViewMode(UiList.ViewMode.COVERS); PopulateList(); // refresh list after changing viewmode. }

Fresh Windows installation, h.264 not working in gbpvr but is locally in powerdvd,
Posted by: nptech - 2010-06-16, 10:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Due to me not having much luck with various codec configurations, I decided to choose a clean slate to try and get dxva working, if I can't get dxva working I am not fussed anymore!

This is currently my issue at present, note the only thing I record as doing differently compared to the original installation is I didn't update power dvd to the final latest... (on the original nstall)

---

Monograph remporting cyberlink splitter & divx codec or power dvd , and monogram/cyberlink audio filters,

this isn't correct whats happening the filter won't budge!! ( powerdvd demux not acccessible?) and for some reason powerdvd cyber link h.264 codec isn't accessible via gbpvr and possibly monograph. But works fine locally in power dvd.

10:33 PM 6/16/2010

Power DVD Cyber Link was installed, locale update installed via cd and registered locally.

Updated to final 7.x version 7.3 (online)

Local playing of MP4 (H.264) media fine via cyber link power dvd but monograph / gbpvr can't play video, presume because of Demux is listed as cyberlink and for some reason once latest update was installed no 3rd plarty software,
can access the codec h.264 of cyber link. Was this a copyright issue?

divx player can play h.264 locally with its codec, which I tried reigstering with bpvr and monograph but the demux is still currently listed as cyberlink...
