  No Sound at all.
Posted by: rd400f - 2010-04-17, 07:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi
Sorry but I have tried to find the answer in older post but couldn't.
I am running v1.4.7 on XP Pro and have a NVIDIA Quadro FX560 video card.
NOVA T 500 tuner card

I can see all my channels in Live TV but none have any sound.

I have also got CyberLink PowerCinema 5.1 that is the HD edition with AAC+ and when I use that I get sound on all channels but none on any recorded TV.

It will most likely be something stupid and simple but I cannot see it right now.

So any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Richard

Anyone using comskip in New Zealand - TVNZ, TV3 etc ?
Posted by: wodger - 2010-04-17, 02:46 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Has anyone got comskip working well for NZ TV? I experimented with it briefly a couple of years ago but didn't put it back on after a rebuild.

Not sure what they do in other countries, but TVNZ seems to be pretty tricky with when they play their logo at the end of an ad-break and other things they do, seemingly to make this kind of thing pretty challenging. Would be great if it worked though.

  Should it work
Posted by: bkterry - 2010-04-17, 01:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Greetings, I have bought a second hand HP Pavilion Slimline PC with Vista premium and have tried to get GBPVR to run on it. I can get the epg loaded, and listen to radio, and record a program (but not replay it), and cannot get Live tv. I have spent considerable time adding dongles (it says the default dongle is incompatible with Vista) and generally playing, but still no live tv. Most of the forum posts are in a language I do not follow too well, as I am not that well versed in the intricacies and depths of computing as spoken, so if you reply, can you please couch it in laymans terms. I dare ask if the Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1200 should do the job, even although it is not listed on your list. The list goes from 1100 straight to 1300, so hope that 1200 is not a lone one that does not work. The software that may be relevant says Hauppauge MCE XP/Vista Software Encoder (2.0.25180).
Any help would be most welcome. Thanks.
PS I am using version 1.1.7

Installing PCTV Dual Sat pro PCI (4000i) card
Posted by: harfordg - 2010-04-16, 12:40 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (13)

Hi There,

I am trying to get my brand new PCTV Dual Sat pro PCI (4000i) card to work with most up to date version of gbpvr - I have installed the Visual C++ redistributable too.

I am using a brand new XP sp3 /Dell Optiplex 320 PC installation to test out this card.
The utilites that come with the card work fine (The card works well with the bundled TVCenter application (6.3.0.584) and I can browse for channels etc using
Windows device manager finds the cards and has the manufacturer's driver installed on it.

When the config is run the utility cannot find the card.

I have been looking around the forum for a while and cannot see an answer.

I am quite prepared to send this card back to manufacturer and purchase whatever card(s) you recommend - I would like at least 2 Satelite inputs if possible.

Can you help?

I have attached configs for your information.

Kind Regards

Live TV Plays fine, but recordings all show 0 bytes?
Posted by: jdconnel - 2010-04-16, 12:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I can play live TV fine.
The TV guide it up to date
But when I record, the directory is created, and the file just sits at 0 bytes.

I recently rebuilt my system, and have just reconfigured / copied my setup from the old one.

I have attached my logs.

Thanks,
Jamie

GB-PVR 1.4.7 suddenly sending Windows Error Message to close
Posted by: Kid_Ego5150 - 2010-04-16, 03:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Just recently GB-PVR will suddenly send up a Windows error message and need to close. It usually happens after about 5 minutes from starting the program. I've left it idle just to make sure it's not something I'm doing at the time to kill it but it still sends an error. I also tested it by clicking on a few plugins but they seem fine. The weather2 plugin however sent an error immediately. No major changes have been made to the system (either by software or hardware) or anything added in terms of plugins. I'm not really sure what to look for in the logs so they are attached. I did notice an error message in the log that mentioned a database was locked but not sure what that implies to. If anyone can make a diagnosis from the logs I'd appreciate it. Thanks for your help.

  Current status of GBPVR, PCH
Posted by: drbenjamin - 2010-04-16, 02:12 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Sorry if this is a FAQ, but I want to double check before buying a unit -
after 4 very happy years with a GBPVR/MVP setup, I decided to upgrade to HD. Two frustrating months later I am throwing in the towel on trying to use my computer to watch shows as well as record them, and want to return to the simple reliable pairing of a computer doing the recording and a MVP-like device for watching. My setup is 2 SD tuners into a Hauppauge 150/2250 pair, and a single HD tuner into a HD-PVR. It sounds like the PCH is what I want, but -

1) Is comskip working with the PCH? Including HD .ts recordings from the HD-PVR? Will pausing a show mess things up?
2) Can I LiveTV/slipstream seamlessly on both HD and SD recordings?
3) Can I have a PCH on my HD set and an MVP on my SD set? I know that the MVP will only play SD recordings.

My headaches with the PC mostly revolve around the audio getting out of synch with the video so that is my major concern with the PCH.

Thanks for the help!

Help do not know how to configure comskip to work with records or live.

Hi I have just installed the Comskip files in the main directory of GBPVR. I do not know how to either configure or activate Comskip to work with live channels or recorded shows. I own a HP Compac business tower with a Pentium 4 CPU 2.8 GHZ Mobo and 1 gig of ram also have a INVIDIA GEForce 6200 256 mb video card. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have Comskip checked off in commercial directories but I am stumped on how to activate its feature. Any help would be appreciated

Several issues after upgrading to Win7
Posted by: blaster556 - 2010-04-15, 11:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

This morning I started out running a perfectly functioning GBPVR 1.4.7 on Vista. I decided it was time for Win 7 x64 and did a fresh install.

I re-installed my HD HOMERUN and GBPVR 1.4.7 software.

tuner 0 is digital OTA
tuner 1 is digital QAM

I copied back the bda.ini, config.xml and gbpvr.db3 files.

I opened up the Win7 firewall to allow full access to config.exe, GBPVRRecording Service, and PVRX2.

If I go into config, I can scan tuner 0 just fine, and all the stations seemed to be mapped properly.
if I try to scan tuner 1 (digital QAM) it hangs forever scanning 3 of 8.

if I go into PVRX2, and I go into the TV Guide, it just pops back out. The log file says there are no channels configured, which is false from what I can see.

PVRX2 also does not show my previously recorded shows, nor my pending shows.

The log file for the recording service does seem to pick up and appears to be scheduling my pending shows.

Any thoughts on my issues?

Thanks...

  Live TV picture quality
Posted by: liteswap - 2010-04-15, 11:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Is it me, or is Live TV PQ much worse than that which is recorded? That's certainly how it looks here (recording only off Freesat).
