do i have to setup homegroup or something?
i turned off firewall for home networks and uac..
I have had my system working prefectly for the last while. for some reason about a week ago the following issue cropped up.
I have 2 DVB-S tuners with multi record on them.
Each card only connects to 2 mux's.
If I record a program from mux1 back to back with a program from mux2 it does not overlap, using only 1 tuner.
If I record a program from each at the same time, it works.
If I record 2 programs from one at the same time, it works.
I just incapable to add US cable as a second(ary) source.
Original OTA ATSC source was established more or less without excessive blood letting (though there are huge problems with XTML EPG originating from "legacy" MCE source -- but it's a different story).
Now, in the presence of ATSC source, adding QAM source (separate tuner on this particular card, and separate ("stream") driver) has become impossible.
Tried to delete ATSC source, and only then I could establish something out of "ATI 650 Pro" (actually, why? it's a different/older model) with cable. Tried the Tuning assistant, only to find 3 or 4 channels out of my regular 75, all looking like from another (non-US) grid of frequencies.
Have read and searched plenty of this interesting forum, only to find some obscure reference to some sort of config tweak for "us cable", couldn't find it, sorry. On the other hand, the proximity talk was about tweaking bda.ini for US cable. Mine looks like tweaked already (not edited since installation 2 days ago):
[ATI 650 Pro (QAM)]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC TUNING_SPECIAL=2
FILTER_TUNER=ATI BDA Digital Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=ATI BDA Digital Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
Maybe I should stop GB Recording service, before attempting to add cable tuner?
TIA
(any advice on simplest working US EPG (both ATSC and Cable) arrangement would be also greatly appreciated -- tvguide.xml from MCE "legacy" I'm getting already, just GB won't read it....)
Whenever I watch 2 HD channels in particular my PC locks up anywhere between 30sec to 4min of HD Live TV. I've been messing with decoders and muxers quite a bit trying to fix this (I have no idea what I'm doing with them). I've tried unlocked SAF, nvidia pure video, ATI Muxer, ArcSoft decoder, and AC3 Filter. I'm pretty sure my hardware isn't lacking but here are my PC specs:
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciate. Also I have it set to VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive. I also included my logs from before I had to do a hard reset when it last locked up on me.
After working for about a year the program guide on my GBPVR setup has stopped updating.
I am using mc2xml. Every thing I have checked seems to be in order. When I manually update the program guide on the system page, GPPVR reports it is updating but the program guide is not updated.
Any suggestions on what to try? I usually have at least a week of schedule but now the schedule ends day after tomorrow and my wife is going away and needs to record stuff.
I am using 1.3.11 and everything else is working fine.
I am using DVBServer/DVBSource to wrap 3 physical dvb-c tuners into 3 virtual dvb-s tuners. Since a couple of days it refuses to record on one of these tuners. On this tuner I make recordings of figure skating (Kunstschaatsen) from the Olympics. Today (23/2) on 16:25 the recording started but resulted in a file with zero length. The recording is supposed to be in H.264. Has anybody a clue what goes wrong here because due to this we missed all figure skating from the last couple of days :mad:
A log file is enclosed.
Is it possible to use an external TV tuner attached to one computer, recording to a storage device on another computer (attached with 100Mbit Etherhet)?
So, you'd have:
Upstairs computer with TV tuner
Downstairs computer with 3TB disk
...will this work reasonably well, or is it a bad idea? The thought is that the upstairs computer (our bedroom) will be more quiet with less disk (and the satellite box is there that we'll want to control via IR blaster), and the downstairs computer is in a utility room with a long HDMI cable to a television in a separate room downstairs.
Any guidance? Should I be throttling the quality of the live TV recording or something?
I AM A FIRST TIME USER iI SET UP AND FOLLOWED WHAT I THOUGHT WAS GOING WELL I RAN TUNER ASSISTANT AND COULD SEE MY CHANNELS COMING IN NO SOUND ...THAT WAS TO BE EXPECTED ..WHEN I GO TO PVRX2 I GO TO VIDEOS OR TV AND THERE IS NO SCREEN BUT I CAN HEAR THE SOUND CAN ANYONE HELP ME? THANK YOU:confused:
I've got a spare copy of 7 and I'm trying to resist the urge to tall it on my server, the main reason I'm considering it is to get h/w accel + HD working.
I've already got x64 and x32 dual booting on a client so I know some of the pitfalls the x32 version seemed easier do get the right decoders merrited.
Any advantages for a server and lounge PC to having x64 on there?
I'm trying to include the shows image when burning a DVD using BurnDVDx2.
I have been able to include the image by copying the image file to the source folder and renaming it the same as the mpg file. This works but requires me to constantly rename the file before burning a DVD.
Is there a way to make use of 1 image file for a show without having to rename the image file each time? e.g. much in the way GBPVr makes use of a shows image file in the media/art folder.
