I just upgraded from windows XP (32bit) to windows 7 (64bit). I installed all new drivers and GBPVR v1.4.7
All seems to be working well with main program. However, I have run into the following problem:
I have rectracker.exe in my postprocessing.bat file and when it runs I get a weird error.
The attached picture show the error in an MSdos window. After looking around on the internet, it appears that this program is not running in 32bit mode (ie. no "*32" after the program in the Task Manager). I have been trying to figure out how to get this program to run in 32bit mode thinking that this is the problem.
In addition, PriorityRecordings.exe did the same thing...
I suspect this is a windows 7 or 64bit thing, but I can't figure it out. Any suggestions regarding how to get these programs to run in 32bit mode?
I have already tried using the "Compatibility" mode under the files properties and tried running in administrator mode.
When troubleshooting problem recordings, etc., it is extremely helpful to know which tuner was being used. Therefore, I would love it if GBPVR would record the tuner ID somewhere (either in the database or even in a text/log file).
Also, it would be helpful if the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log file's "checking signal stats" lines identified which tuner the stats correspond to.
I've compiled my own copy of ffmpeg-0.5. It is twice as fast as my earlier version. I was only getting 60fps converting 1080i to 720p but now am getting over 120fps. This is a experimental build. It has xvid, libmp3lame, libx264, faac built in. It gets avcodec alignment errors when ran but still works. I'm going to recompile it with gcc version 4.2 or higher to get rid of the errors. It uses pthreads instead of win32 threads. I think that is why it is faster. Xvid is really slow on my machine only giving about 16fps. I'll stick with 2 pass mpeg4 conversion.
I'll put it into production tonight to work on a few files.
I was trying to get audio to work and not having much success when I did something that seems to be causing a manual record of one channel to automatically start. I cannot seem to get it to stop. I am not even sure what to search the forum for at this point.
Now when I start PVRX2 it crashes. Win7 is REAL nice about telling me that it is trying to resolve the problem just before it tells me to exit program.
Related issues - Recordings are display black w/o sound in PVRX2, however they appear to be fine when played elsewhere.

I have an issue I have been trying to figure out but I am not familiar enough yet with the logs to diagnose.
When pulling up live TV from either the guide or just the 'Live TV' menu option TV will either play fine, play a 3-10 seconds and kick me back to the menu or play about 30 seconds and then kick me back to the menu. I have no idea why this is and I haven't been able to pick out a pattern.
I have a HDHomeRun attached to a server running Windows Server 2008 R2 with a Windows 7 client.
it would be nice to make the overall gbpvr interface more functional with a touch screen. implementing up/down/left/right buttons (could be invisible hot areas or arrows as in the video library) and menu navigation (home), for example.
sometimes i just don't want to turn on the dlp or my desktop (to connect to the htpc via vnc) or hold the keyboard in order use gbpvr for just a couple of minutes. that's the intended use of the ahanix 7" touchscreen.

I am in process of rebuilding my HTPC. Two cards I am currently looking are Avermedia AVerTV Digi Super 007 and Gigabyte GT-P8000. Price is similar.
Basically, I heard both are good and I won't make an mistake whichever I buy.
But, my question here is: which one goes along better with GBPVR (i.e. PVRX2)?
Whose remote is more useful/easy to use either with GBPVR or with other software? Can they (remotes) be customized via LM Remote KeyMap or similar software?

I am planning to set up GB-PVR for my parents. Personally I've been running MythTV for several years, but it is more than I want to support for them.
I've read the wiki and some of this forum. I'd like to know if I have the right impression on the best capture cards for GB-PVR. I want a capture card that is as rock solid as you can get, supports ClearQAM and analog, and is as affordable as possible. I only need 1 tuner for now, and I have PCI, PCI-e, and USB inputs available.
It seems the Hauppauge HVR-2250 is the gold standard. The HVR-1950 also looked interesting. I was initially leaning towards the HVR-1600, until I discovered it has poor ClearQAM sensitivity for many. I also saw the HVR-1800, but I don't know where it fits in all of this. Does anyone have thoughts on these, or other capture devices you may feel are better?
I was initially conflicted between MediaPortal and GB-PVR. After researching, it seems most people believe GB-PVR is more robust, and the support for media extenders really encouraged me to go with it. Hopefully the PCH A-200 will be supported soon, otherwise I guess I'll have to get an old A-100 for them.
Thanks to all the developers. It sounds like this is more polished than MythTV and will set up relatively easily.
