  No Video in Live mode
Posted by: djsims2 - 2009-12-23, 11:06 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Okay so i dont really know much at all about this sort of stuff. I have all of my channels tuned in okay but there is no video at all however there is sound. I have also found out that this happens on the DVD player too.
I have a Hauppage WinTV 88x

I don't really understand the codecs and stuff but i believe i have the necessary codecs installed. i have everything like the h.264 codec and the fddshow codec.

I'm not very good at this stuff so please try to keep it simple.

Thanks

  Can GB-PVR record DVB-S to 1280X720
Posted by: Warwick - 2009-12-23, 09:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I notice GBPVR records DVB-S TS at 720X576. To display this full screen on my TV via a PCH I need to zoom it. Other video recorded at 1280X720 (non GBPVR) displays full screen without zooming.

Is it possible for GB-PVR to record DVB-S at 1280X576? The TV displays the source that is being recorded at full-screen. Is it being automatically upscaled by the TV?

  IR32 with Windows7
Posted by: peterh - 2009-12-23, 09:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Latest in the rebuild saga....finally moved the Windows 7/32 replacement into the 'front line' transferring the Nova T PCI to the new machine, but when I try to restart IR I get a message saying IR has stopped working. Any tricks to get this working? I also have an Asus ES2-750 fitted which has an IR input so possibly could use that? Any thoughts?

Thanks

  MCE remote codes changed
Posted by: JonnyCam - 2009-12-23, 08:24 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

On my client, I have a microsoft remote, working with HIP.
It has worked great fo the last 18 months or so, then the other night is stopped working.

The red light was flashing on the beanbag, so it was getting a signal, but not doing anything with it. HIP seemed to be set up exactly the same.

When I ended up trying to re-learn a code, the code number for each button was a lot different than what was stored in HIP in the past.

Can anyone explain how this could happen?
I thought the IR codes would have been stored in some flash chip in the remote. (now I have to relearn each button)

  Uninstall Question
Posted by: dreiffel - 2009-12-23, 07:46 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (2)

While testing out my A-100, I Installed NMT install software on my laptop 1st, and now the A-100 always sees the laptop software initially rather than my HTPC , what do I remove from my laptop to stop this happening. Do I just remove the MVPMC folder? or do I also have to uninstall GB-PVR also.

  Internet TV? Hulu, Options?
Posted by: ottoguy - 2009-12-23, 02:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

My cable company is switching to all digital so I have to either setup an IR blaster with their stupid cable boxes or find another solution.

Has anyone found a good internet tv company that will completely replace standard cable/fios/dish? I was thinking some sort of internet tv company that uses set top boxes I could just feed into GBPVR.

I see the hulu, but don't see how it easily intigrates with GBPVR, and how it would stream to the MVP boxes.

  post message codes deleted!
Posted by: pBS - 2009-12-23, 01:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

all the links to the list of post message codes have been deleted....apparently they were all old enough to go by the wayside....
is there any way 'important' attachments can be kept from deletion?
i'd hate to have to upload to wiki but i guess it's ok for reference stuff..

maybe make it 2 years timeout?

Live TV has audio but no video
Posted by: gitargr8 - 2009-12-23, 03:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi, I was able to get my hauppage 2250 set up in config for digital ATSC, however when I run the GBPVR app, I get audio, but no video. I know I have a decent signal, because I am able to watch shows in WinTV7, but that program is really annoying. Any advice?

Thanks,
~Ryan

  New Wiki pages
Posted by: steeb - 2009-12-23, 01:51 AM - Forum: Forum Issues & Documentation - Replies (38)

Dear all,

there's a few of us working out some updated and new Wiki pages. Due to the way the Wiki works there are some limitations, but I don't mean this in a bad way, just the way it works.

For instance if I was going to upload a helpful Wiki page about setting up a DVB-S source after initial installation of GBPVR where may I put that on the Wiki so that Newbie could find easily?

For me I'd go 'Manual' then prob 'Quick Start'. But quick start page as it is does't work through my thought process currently if I was pretending to be a Newbie.

Where would you look after install of GBPVR for 1st time on how to set up, for instance, a DVB-S source?

Cheers

Steeb

can you schedule playing of videos or tv in gbpvr
Posted by: txinga - 2009-12-22, 10:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Maybe I'm not searching correctly but I can't find an answer to this.

Is it possible to schedule shows to play? I'm thinking of when I'm away from the house have the TV or even the monitor to fire up, start a show either recorded or live TV with sound. That would make it look and sound like someone is home. Kinda like x10 does for lighting.

Edit: Does WinTV (blasphemy, I know) start the player to do the actual recording? It might be an option too...

Thanks,

txinga
