MVPMCX2 install problem 'cannot create directory'
Posted by: arkennedy75 - 2009-12-19, 03:50 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (5)

After following the 'install for dummies' thread I get a 'cannot create directory' after selecting 'GBPVR via Network Browser'. I ran the NMTChecker and got the following results:

Checking for mvpmc share on DESKTOP
mvpmc H:\mvpmc

Checking GB-PVR.html links
<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/NETWORK_SHARE/DESKTOP:mvpmc/gbpvr.cgi">GB-PVR</a>
<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/NETWORK_SHARE/NETWORK_BROWSER/browser.cgi">GB-PVR via Network Browser</a>
<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/USB_DRIVE_A-1/mvpmc/usb_a.cgi">GB-PVR via USB</a>

MAC

GB-PVR Installed H:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\

Checking NMT Version

Checking NMT Display

Calling NMT Source

Attached are my logs. Also, my local drive is 'H:' not 'C:', not sure if that is causing issues. Thanks you for your help.

crop borders on s-video input on HVR-1600?
Posted by: sgilani - 2009-12-19, 09:35 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

my IPTV provider annoyingly places 40-pixel wide black borders on the left and right of the picture, and there's no setting or any way of changing that output from the box.

i'm using the s-video input on my HVR-1600. Is there any way that I can somehow crop the borders? I'm stumped on this one.. anyone have ideas?

I also have a HVR-850 and HVR-950Q sitting around (with a/v cables); can that SoftMCE stuff do it by chance?

  Fresh Install Error
Posted by: sterlicious - 2009-12-19, 04:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

My (dedicated) computer running GBPVR was recently ravaged by a virus, so I've formatted a new drive and decided to start over. However, I've tried running the .msi files for 1.2.13, 1.3.7 and 1.4.7 and continually receive "The installation ended prematurely because of an error."

Thoughts? I have tried installing "vcredist_x86.exe". I assume it's installed, but it just kind of runs for a minute and then disappears without an announcement that it finished. I have also tried deleting GBPVR registry keys and the 'sc delete "gb-pvr recording service"' work-around.

I am completely at a loss right now.

No longer get any QAM channels even though TV still does
Posted by: ElihuRozen - 2009-12-19, 04:09 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

When Comcast first switched the standard cable channels like USA, ESPN, TNT, etc to QAM, I could receive them on my 1600. Recently, they moved them from the 70's & 80's to the 20's, 30's & 40's. The SD signals for the local channels are still in the 80's. Now, I can't get anything on my 1600. My 2 TV's still get the unecrypted channels on QAM at the new locations.

I got an 1800 since some people said that the QAM tuner in the 1600 wasn't always able to handle weak signals. It can't get anything either. I tried using the cable that is going into the 4-way splitter that I use since I need to feed my TV, a 500, an STB feeds the 1800 analog, a DTA that feeds the 1600 analog & the QAM tuner in either the 1600 or 1800. (Note for those of you counting along at home, the signal to the TV & STB gets split after coming off the 4-way.) Even without the splitter, I still couldn't get them.

When I tried WinTV 7 & TSReader Lite, they don't get anything either. (I'm not positive how to tell TSReader Lite which card to use. If you hold the ctrl key while it is starting, you can select the tuner. I don't know which is device 0 & which is device 1 or if it even sees both.)

I tried re-arranging the mess of wires behind my system so the TV cables don't go near power cables since that can cause problems.

This is my lineup from silicondust: http://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/lin...up_1299886 If you click that link, you might still need to select Comcast from the provider dropdown.

I tried a lot of different values in the qam.ini. Actually, now I've been using the qam-custom.ini, but I can see config using my values. For instance, the local SD stations are at channel 82. In the past, I configured channel 82 as 570250 with the 1600 & it worked. On the DTA it says 571.750 MHz when I hold the info button to get into the status screens. I tried 570000 (subtracting 1750 for the Hauppauge); I tried 571750; I tried 571000; I tried 572000; still nothing.

Some info screens from the DTA:

After upgrade to 1.4.7 settings error
Posted by: statik - 2009-12-19, 12:12 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

When trying to adjust the settings through the PVRX2 menu. I was able to choose the Skin but when I tried to change the Default Suspend, Defualt Recording view, or Startup behavior. I ended up with an error that caused PVRX2 to lock up. I suspect it has something to do with the Comm. Skin. I have attached the log.

  Will this card work?
Posted by: cad - 2009-12-18, 10:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Seems to be a pretty good deal on this card? Will it work with GB-PVR? I couldn't seem to find it on the list. There is a Wonder model but it doesn't seem to be exactly the same.

  Slowness using Play Program button
Posted by: mthomas - 2009-12-18, 07:37 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (4)

Anyone else seeing slowness when playing a program using the Play Program button in EWA?

I'm using GB-PVR 1.4.7 with the included EWA and VLC 1.0.3. When I use the Play Program button in EWA there is about a 45 second delay before the program plays in VLC. I see this same delay if I skip ahead in the program using a keyboard shortcut or using the slider in VLC. This only occurs when I use EWA on the same host on which GBPVR is running. If I connect from another host (on my LAN) there is no delay. Similarly, if I simply open the file GBPVR has saved using VLC on the GBPVR host, there is no delay. Wierd.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.

Thanks,

...Mike

  Storing a plugin.xml
Posted by: mvallevand - 2009-12-18, 05:54 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

To avoid config.xml where is the best location for a plugin specific XML file?
I was originally thinking

Code:
PluginHelperFactory.getPluginHelper().GetInstallDirectory() + "Plugins/WebRadio/WebRadio.xml";

but I don't know if this is going to be consistent with 1.5 which I assume will use the DataDir reg key more even for config.xml. Should all the plugin specific xml files be in the root of DataDir if it is found?

How to Recover from CONFIG Error: 2573
Posted by: LewE - 2009-12-18, 05:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Last night I did something stupiod and tried to change my channel lineup from Schedules Direct while PVRX2 was recording.

This morning, when I tried to run Config it would start and then not respond or use any more CPU cycles. Each time I tried to run it it would get as far as the Task Manager screen capture shows and go no further.

If I tried to END PROCESS config in Task Manager it wouldn't do anything. It owuldn't hang but it wouldn't kill it. If I ran Config again I would just end up with another instance of Config.

I tried the sc delete "GB-PVR Recording Service" and was successful with that but when I re-ran the 147.msi installation program and tried to have it repair things and even when it ran successfully, I still had the problem with config.

I tried reinstalling the vcredist_86 to see if that was the problem and still no luick. I even restored my computer to a coule days ago before the last Windows Update was installed and this didn't help.

I had Windows do error checking on hte C: Drive. Unfortunately, I wasn't watching while it did that so I am not sure whether it found any errors and how many there were.

Now, when I try to run the gbpvr147.msi file I get a popup saying Internal Error 2753 in Config.exe.

I've tried uninstalling GBPVR and all sorts of combinations.

Right now, GBPVR is not installed on my computer and I can't seem to reinstall it.

What should I do to get out of this problem?
