I have a problem with images sometimes blurring when in motion, sometimes to a fairly extreme extent. However, at other times (even the same shows from the same channel) there is very little, if any, of this.

I have been noticing the blur for awhile, but I was surprised, when catching up on a series, to find that some episodes were blurry and some were not. I happen to have some of the same episodes on a commercial PVR, where no blur is evident. There was even one that developed the problem halfway through. I have therefore ruled out the playback codecs and renderers, and decided that the problem must be in recording some broadcasts.

I have backtracked carefully to determine what else might have been happening during the "blurry" recordings (e.g. other shows recording, system maintenance tasks), but have not been able to establish any correlation.

A related issue: The problem seems reduced when I watch at 60Hz. (This seems odd, considering that broadcasts are in PAL, at 25 or 50Hz.) However, the a/v sync sometimes (only sometimes) gradually drifts when I watch at 60Hz.

I'm setting up gbpvr for my mum to use just as a video file player.

I have a portable USB HD - F: - in windows.

I've gone into the config program and in the Directories tab i have added F:\ in the Video Library Directories.

I've then shut the config program down and done a reboot fo the PC.

When I am in the main program and go to the video library I get the [default] which is C:\, and a couple of other directories, but I don't see F:\

I've gone back to check in teh config program and F:\ is appearing in the Video Libray Directories

Does anyone had an idea of what I am doing wrong :confused:

Can someone give me basic comparison of the features and lack of feaures of the different Hauppauge WinTV-HVR cards? 1250,1600, 1850, and 2250.

I have an
AMD785 motherboard with integrated 4200 graphics
Hauppauge 2250 capture card
sargas 2.7 Ghz currently at stock speed.
2GB ram
XP Pro
ATI Mpeg decoder

Watching HD content is fine. The usual stutter when you select a channel but once you are watching no artifacts, etc.

As soon as I start recording it gets grainy, worse than SD content. It looks almost watery. I checked and it is playing back at 720 by 540? If I simply play the HD channel it will play at 720P or 1080I.
The really bizarre thing, I tried pausing a 720P channel one time, and it worked perfectly. That has only happened the one time.
If I do get a recording to go at 1080i, the playback is stuttering far beyond usability.

just wondered if there was a way I could tweak this manually or something built into the CS layout beyond my possibilities?

I generated a sub folder in the main menu layout to list some Television things as main menu was getting cluttered.

With Blue skin appears as attached and menu items are centralised vertically.

With CS appears as attached and menu items are loaded towards the bottom?

This happens from time to time where the Slimm tray icon will not show a program is being recorded.

Don't have alot more to go on. This is what happened this time:

• I was watching TV in 'Live TV' mode, I know the tray icon was flashing green. GB-PVR went back to the main menu when it was time to start recording the program (no clue what the tray icon was doing but I do know I did not see a yellow bubble saying 'recording has started').
  
• I went away from the computer about 30 mins and then came back to the computer. I had to restart the computer so I looked to see if the tray icon was flashing green and it was gray. Restarted.
  
• When the computer finished booting up the tray icon was flashing green.
  

Hi all,

set up a sub-directory on my Main Menu server XP O/S system other day no probs. Tried it on Vista client but didn't get same results, all Main Menu items still load the same.

Syntax in Config.xml that is relevant is:

I 1.4.7 I cannot tell gbpvr to stop creating folders when recording. In older version I could check a box to stop folder creation.

How can I stop gbpvr from creating new folder when recording?

Here is my issue...I am recording multiple shows at once, sometimes 6 at a time. I am using comclean2 because the cuttermaran program creates a clean cut of the file (@ correct gop structure). Cuttermaran needs both a .mp2 and a .m2v file. These are created by enabling the demux ability inside comskip.ini.
The first recording uses the .cpf (cuttermaran project file) to open the project and uses the already created .mp2 and .mv2 files. After finishing, it moves on to the second recording, but erases the two demuxed files and proceeds to recreate them!? This adds unneeded time to the project...
Has anyone solved this problem before? Does this even make sense! Let me know, thanks!
