  Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB2: doesn't work with top boxes?
Posted by: ricksaint - 2009-12-05, 10:30 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (16)

I have a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB2. When I try to set it up with my HDTV box, it didn't work. It's not supposed to, or is it something I did wrong?

Anyone knows if the WinTV-HVR 1950 would work with an HDTV box?

Thanks.

  Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB2: Recordings take too much space
Posted by: ricksaint - 2009-12-05, 10:14 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

Hi,

I am new here. Great forum! I did a search but didn't come up with adequate answers.

A two and a half hour movie took 9 Gb of space. Is that normal with the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB2?

I am running Vista 64-bit with Windows Media Center. By the way, I don't have GB-PVR. Do I need to install it? What more would I gain by doing so?

Thanks.

  2250 card using QUAM, video, no sound?
Posted by: skyking - 2009-12-05, 09:49 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

WINXP PRO
PVR250 Analog card
HVR2250 card
785 motherboard with 4200 onboard HDMI out

I go the card in and was able to map my channels, the video is a little funky at times but I will work on that.
All the analog channels in my lineup still work as usual, only the HD channels I mapped are affected.
Any suggestions?

  GBPVR opens, video and EPG working, no sound
Posted by: jstearns - 2009-12-05, 08:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

version: 1.4.7

Notes:
Card: ATI TV Wonder 600 (USB)
OS: Microsoft Server 2003
Location: US - Central
Input: over the air digital

As in the topic title, I've managed to get the video working fine, but there is no sound output. The speakers I have plugged in work, and produce sound for other apps (a youtube video worked, for example). Any help would be appreciated.

  Is my client under spec'd ?
Posted by: onionfx - 2009-12-05, 08:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi folks,
Trying to cobble together a wee client PC to service the 'good' room we're getting ready for Christmas.

Been having some issues with the client/server setup so copied over a file to the video library and still got a wee problem.

The file loads and plays fine in GBPVR, however I can't escape back to the menu once I start playing (or it takes 10-20 secs etc.)

The CPU does go to 100% when playing.

Now for the specs - don't laugh its all I had lying about

Am I pushing it too far - back in the day I would have been running a full server on this sort of hardware (and Media Portal couldn't which is why I stayed with GBPVR Smile )

Duron 700mhz
RAM 384Mb
GPU Geforce FX 5500 with S-Video out.

Any ideas of a minimum spec for a client these days?

Thanks,
Sam

  Separating Anaglog and Digital Channels
Posted by: skinny - 2009-12-05, 07:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi there,
I had this working but can't get it back how I want it.
I have 2 tuners, PVR-350 and HVR2000. I generally record Freeview channels, but have the need to record analog channels for certain programs, so they can be watched on old hardware without transcoding.
I use different EPG sources (http://epg.pvr.geek.nz/epg/listings-freeview.xml.gz and xmltvnz by Reven) for the digital and analog, in the past the Channel Name was slightly different, (eg "TV One" and "TV1") allowing me to select the analog channel when required.
Is there a way I can manually change the Channel Names, or is there something else I need to look at?
Thanks
Paul

  m2ts sound
Posted by: pvrproblems - 2009-12-05, 06:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Ok. I'm just recently able to play m2ts files. I'm ripping with DVD-Fab. I can play the file just perfectly (video and sound) in CyberLink 8. In MS Media Player, the video is fine, but the audio starts to crackle a bit after a few minutes. If I FF, Rev, Pause, it will fix it for a few moments, then it starts up again.

Media Player Classic won't play it, but does give me this info on the file
Video: WVC1 1920x1080 23.98fps [Video]
Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz 6ch 640Kbps [Audio]
Subtitle [Subtitle]

Which setting in GB-PVR should I be trying? Audio Decoder, AC3 Decoder, Audio Renderer, AAC Decoder, HE-AAC Decoder, or DD+/E-AC3 Decoder?

I've been trying combinations of AC3 Decoder and AAC Decoder, and not having much luck.

Thanks in advance

Richard

  Music Library 3 Install Errors
Posted by: dennit - 2009-12-05, 06:36 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

ML3 won't install. ML2 works fine. Config log errors below. I'd post in the plugin forum, but it looks like the type of problem that might have been seen by others who may frequent this area more often. Feel free to move it, if it shouldn't be here.
Thanks for any help:

  BBC channels not scanned on Winter Hill transmitter after 2nd December
Posted by: TonyM - 2009-12-05, 02:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

BBC channels not scanned on Winter Hill transmitter after 2nd December.

Tried scanning all channels and setting exclusively scan offset frequencies but still no success.

Solved problem by re-writing the 076.ini file for Winter Hill.
This file is in the \BDA\DVB-T \ directory, here is the new version.

076.ini

[TERTYPE]
1=Borders and Northern England
2=Storeton
[DVB]
0=6
1=C30,546166,0,0,8
2=C34,578166,0,0,8
3=C23,490166,0,0,8
4=C26,514166,0,0,8
5=C29,538166,0,0,8
6=C33,570166,0,0,8

Hope this helps
