Short version of my question: can I tune in (eg) BBC1 from both Freeview and Freesat tuners and have it seen as the same channel by gbpvr?
Long version...
I have 3x DVB-T (UK Freeview) tuners and 2x DVB-S (Freesat) tuners.
I've been running happily for months with all the Freeview channels tuned in, but only those channels that are exclusive to Freesat (BBC HD, France 24, etc) tuned in. In other words, all the channels that are available on both Freeview and Freesat are only tuned into my DVB-T tuners.
This is fine (and provides more than enough coverage for anything we need to record), but changing channels when gbpvr needs to jump between tuners slows things down. If I go Freeview->Freeview->Freeview (or Freesat->Freesat->Freesat) I get two speedy changes in each case, but as soon as it needs to do Freeview->Freesat (or vice versa) there's a noticeable delay.
One solution would be to order all the channels so that all the Freeview ones are first, then have all the Freesat ones. But that won't keep the wife happy
So my question is this... I assume I can tune in the missing duplicate channels and still have gbpvr realise they are the same channel, even though they're attached to different tuners with different EPG sources? So, for example, "BBC1" can exist across all five tuners? Then I can set whichever tuner has the majority of channels (probably a Freesat one) to be the Live TV tuner, and minimize the number of timers a cross-tuner jump needs to be made.
Is it simply enough for the channel names to be the same? If Freeview used "ITV2+1" and Freesat used "ITV2 +1" for example, they would be seen as different channels surely?
My Freeview channels get their EPG data over the air, but the Freesat ones come from an xmltv file (although it comes from another program that grabs it from the sat transmissions before saving to xml). I can post-process this to rename channels to match if need be.
Finally, assuming this is possible, and it does all work, which set of EPG data would get displayed? I think most of the time the guides are identical anyway, but if they did differ, which one would be shown? I'd guess at whichever one was imported second?
I do foresee a couple of issues with such a setup: a) it's going to be more hassle setting up tuners. b) if a channel is still ok on a live DVB-S tuner, but has changed frequency on a DVB-T tuner used for recordings (which does happen from time to time), then I'm probably only going to notice when attempting to play back a recording that hasn't worked. (Edit) oh and c) I'll get a crapper picture on ITV (if I use Freesat for Live TV rather than Freeview) but I never watch it anyway. Or are there other Freeview and Freesat channels that are worse on one than the other?
I have a pvr-150 with the beanbag. The blaster is plugged into the beanbag (port 1 but same with port 2) which in turn is plugged into a USB port. The remote and bean bag work fine.
When I try to run the ir blaster configuration wizard I get hardware not found.
In desperation I installed the entire Hauppuage CD which also made no difference.

After 46 beta builds, albain has finally created a bitstream trial for ffdshow for the ATI 5xxx series video cards and the Asus Xonar. The following formats have been added to the standard DTS/AC3 bitsreaming:

As far as I know, Windows 7 is required.
Once Xonar bitstreaming is confirmed, the HD audio bitstream branch will be merged with the main ffddshow-tryouts trunk.
I just upgrade to Windows 7 and install 1.4.7 GBPVR. Everything is fine except that I can't get any channel scan with the HVR1600 OTA channels. I try it with the MCE, and it recognizes all the local channels so the driver for the device works.
I am attached the logs to see if any errors can be found and corrected.
I have been using GBPVR for a while now and recently upgraded to 1.4.7, and noticed something very odd. All my Season Recordings are Web Scheduled and worked flawlessly prior to the upgrade.
Following the upgrade, it seems the external channel change script is not being executed. I have scheduled some test recordings via web scheduling and the channel does not change [no cmd window launches]. I can however go into GBPVR on the machine, watch live TV, change channels and they do change [external channel script is launched and executes properly]...
Any one else seen this issue, I did some searches and couldn't find anything... Any assistance would be appreciated.
I am using gbpvrwake.exe to make sure that the screen wakes up during recording. But I found that when start the pc, the cmdbox comes in front of the pvrx exe, this does not look very nice. Is it possible to hide the window that pvrx stays in front?

I have many pictures in the TIF format. The name of each is âname.TIFâ. But GBPVR will not recognize them unless they are named âname.TIFFâ. Is there a way to get GBPVR to recognize .TIF as well as .TIFF pictures as I donât really want to change the extension on all my photos.

My live TV works just fine but a recording or watching a show that is currently recording looks like it is only half in tune. Top half of the screen looks like the picture I used to get on an old rabbit eared TV I had when I was 7.
I have made no changes to my setup or computer what-so-ever, and then one night, pow, pure misery.
