I've create a util for use within batch files (mostly postprocessing.bat) that will put the batch file to sleep for a random period.
I created this as often JavaWiz Rename programme often errors when attempts to update the GBPVR database. I realised that it's because I'd completed two recording the I was executing two versions of WizRename and they where tripping over each other...
So how to use it...
just put randomsleep.exe into the batch file and it will stop for a random period.
Commandline Usage :-
Randomsleep.exe ... sleeps for a random period. max is 5 seconds
Randomsleep.exe 6000 ... sleeprs for random period max is 6 seconds.
RandomSleep.exe /? - the help screen.
How to use this :-

I have set up both digital tuners as QAM on my HVR-2250. Sometimes it records the wrong channel and sometimes I get a blank file, and other times it records the right channel. If I stop the recording and start it again I will generally get the right channel then. When I get a wrong channel it will be one of the other channels in the TS. And I seem to get the same wrong channel every time.
I made sure my channels were set up correctly. And I confirmed it happens on both tuners. It also happened with multi-record on or off.
I will try to upload the logs later when I get home.
ETA: I've attached the logs from recording two small videos. The first time I got the wrong channel, "T:415250,0,0~P:12~TSID:9450~V:2624~A:2625~PMT:58~PCR:2624~N:>415250.12 Unknown9* (000)" to be specific. The second recording captured the correct channel.
As I was watching the Jay Leno show last night (live) I got to thinking it might be nice to just record the first ten minutes each night (the monologue), then splice them together to make a one hour "monologue show".
This could also be usefull to record just the last nn minutes of a show, like Dancing With the Stars, where you're only interested in viewing the final results, and not the whole program.
Is there anyway to do this? I did some searching here in the forums and in the wiki but couldn't come up with a solution. I know the pending recordings are in the database and I presume the start/stop times are from the EPG, but that's the extent of my knowledge.
I know I could record the whole show, then cut the first 10 minutes to a new file and later combine them all in a batch command, but a neater method would just be to modify the start/stop time before the recording started.
I had it working consistently using my MCE remote and Ir blaster with hip to control the volume on my Panasonic Viera TV.
I made some hard ware changes (it possbly went back to default driver) and it stopped working, HIP would still send the signal to the MCE blaster and the LED flashes but the TV now does nothing?:confused:
I now canât remember which driver I had it working with and thatmay not be the problem?
I have tried
1. the default driver (eHome Infrared Receiver) Then and disable the default handling of the keys with registry changes.
2. Use the replacement driver (MCE Infrared Remote Control)

I decided to start a new thread since the subject has moved somewhat away from the original one.
I have successfully recorded four encrypted channels on one capture device, one of the channels were decrypted and the others encrypted. I don't know if this is a limitation in MDAPI or the recording service. I have successfully decrypted using OfflineCSA (Offline decrypter) v2.5 with Acamd and NewCS. The decrypted file plays fine in both WMP11 and WMP-classic but not in PVRX2. When trying to play it pvrx2 just returns after a second of black screen.
I have an old desktop with 2 tv cards am using since 2 years. Compro Videomate (without hardware encoder). Hauppauge PVR500MCE.
Hauppauge returns poor unviewable snowy pictures and doesnt tune all the channels. Compro works perfectly fine. I assumed the problem was with the card.
After my recent purchase of 10 hauppauge PVR150s, I also purchased another desktop, exactly same specs & O/s.
The PVR150s are working fine in the new desktop. I have successfully commissioned 4 tuners for simultaneous recordings.
I then replaced my PVR 500 with a new PVR 150 in the old desktop. Strangely, it behaved in the same way.
This is very surprising because for a long time I thought the problem was with my card. It worked fine for a brief period after I purchased it more than 2 years go before it went bad. Also changed my O/s to WinXP MCE but without success.
I have seen some threads about getting Cyberlink decoders to work with GBPVR, like this one; http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=18462
They are for older versions of PowerDVD, and I wondered if anyone has managed to achieve the same with the latest versions?
How does the logic work for setting the repeat flag? I'm importing from digiguide and setting new show detection to Auto but it just doesn't seem to be coming through correctly. The original xml file has a previouslyshown flag for repeat episodes, with Ultra work with this?
Don't know why but 2 systems cannot get live tv of QAM channels within GBPVR using either of my tuners (HDHR, HVR 2250, ATI650, HVR1600). Analog works fine. Recording works fine. I can crtl-K and when it starts recording, it displays live tv. The HDHR app plays live tv fine so it's something within GBPVR.
It worked this morning and I simply restarted the systems a few hours later and nothing. No MS updates were installed nor new programs. It's gotta be something simple but I couldn't find anything in the logs that stuck out however, I'm not sleuthy enough to usually find things in the logs so if any detectives want to snoop around, I'm listening.
