I just installed Community Skin Ver 4 Widescreen, and have a problem. The Skin Plugin shows in config, but not on the PRRX2 main menu. I am using Windows 7 RTM. Everything else is good, including the Music plugin, and that one shows in the main menu, but not skin plugin. I am seeing the default skin of Community, so I know it's there. Any ideas?
I'm interested in the opinion of anyone who has a MSDN subscription. I am thinking of getting one for my small company. The Operating Systems subscription is $700 (unless I can find a coupon code) :confused: but anytime my small business shells out cash, especially in hard times, I question myself.
I'm under the impression that I can activate 10 machines but am not sure if this is allowed for a business or not.
Plus, can just anyone get a subscription or do you have to have special credentials?
I tried finding this in the Wiki but was unable to obtain this information directly. If you have a single tuner which you add within the capture source tab as two line items with separate EPG configurations (perhaps some channel differences) by using say the MC2XML Grabber to download and create a xmltv from Microsoft MCE and another xmltv created from the TitanTV site. Once the EPG is updated for these two guys how does the TV guide know which of these it should use to display the EPG data within the TV guide?
I have been using GBPVR on my PC for about 3-4 years. I recently bought a HDTV and have reading up on the popcorn hour and how it integrates with GBPVR. Long story short, I thought I would ask the experts.
1) I understand that popcorn hour allows users to stream content from another location. I would be curious to know if it allows you to also record back to the location of the content. In other words, Iâd like to centralize my video files so I can watch them on either location. If I buy a popcorn hour unit can I use the GBPVR menu to then record back to my pc? Or will it just stream and show the menu?
2) I have noticed that some popcorn units allow you add hard drive. If you add a hard drive can you use GBPVR to record to the popcorn hour? (I'm assuming so but I'd like to know for sure.) Will it record in hard drive?
3) How does comskip work with popcorn hour? If I stream from another location will it still work? If I buy a popcorn hour and put in a hard drive will comskip work on there?
4) How difficult is it to get a popcorn hour to work with a cable box? Iâm assuming pretty easyâ¦.
5) Am I better off to just build a media PC or buy a popcorn hour? If I buy a popcorn hour what model would you recommend?
I installed the Burndvdx2 plugin the other day, however it says I have no files! Is this due to an incompatibility with the TS-Mux, and if so is this a feature that will be implemented in a future version?
I have had some problems with codecs (anyone heard that before) but at last I got it working on all filetypes by using the latest ffdshow.
Everything goes to ffdshow now and I have subtitles even in .mkv (that was the reason for my earlier trouble)
But it takes a long time with black screen (20-30 sek) before the file starts playing.
I suspect that there are some old stuff left in the system that creates this problem. But how do I clean the system from old garbage/codec traces (if this is the cause)?
Yes, a clean install would probably fix it, but that is the last option...
Is there any reason why a brand new Hauppauge HVR-2200 (PAL version of the HVR-2250) is only recording at 3500 Kbits/sec when I have set the medium quality (default) settings at 6000 Kb/sec and peak at 9000 Kb/sec?
This card is a replacement for a PVR500 which worked o.k. but I had a sometimes the famous timeline problem in spite of the registry patch and was not so happy with the analog picture quality. It was however recording at the correct bitrates.
Is it still true that the HVR-2200 cannot record at more then 6000 Kb/sec?
The webservice mvpmcx2 (2.5) starts GB-PVR without any problems. However, after quit the application (hit USB-Eject twice on the remote) and activate again mvpmcx2, the message "Request can't be processed" appears on the screen. After reboot the NMT (Egreat M34A) mvpmcx2 starts GB-PVR.
This utility is for anyone who is having issues with the channel scanning reporting the wrong video PID or video type for channels found in the scan. It will only work on ATSC/QAM tuning strings and should not be used for DVB.
It can also be used to remove all encrypted channel entries from your scan cache.
Unzip the package to the folder of your choice. The recommended location is:

But it can be installed anywhere. The included System.Data.SQLite.dll is the same as the one in the GB-PVR 1.4.7 package but a copy must be in the same folder as the utility so I included it.
Usage:
GBPVR scanning should be performed before using the utility (it can't repair tuning strings that don't exist).
Channels do not need to be mapped.
If Config is running, exit the channel mapping screen before using the utility.
Run the utility and select the capture source for which you wish to fix the tuning string information. (Only digital capture sources will be listed.)
If you have already mapped channels for that capture source, select the "Fix database entries" option to avoid having to remap.
Selecting "Remove encrypted channels" will clear all encrypted channels from the scan cache file to make mapping easier.
Press the "Fix" button to apply the changes to the selected capture source.
A popup will appear informing you of the number of changed entries in the scan cache file and in the database (if applicable).
Restart the Recording Service. (If Config is running, the service will be restarted automatically when selecting "OK" to exit Config.)
Considerations:
Database entry fixes will only apply to capture sources that have a scan cache. If you used JavaWiz's BDA Channel Mapping tool to copy mappings, this tool will not work on the capture sources that did not have a scan performed. You can run the utility on the capture source that you scanned and then use the BDA Channel Mapping tool to propagate the entries to the other capture sources as you did before.
Only unencrypted entries are changed in the scan cache file.
Only database entries that correspond to scan cache entries are changed. If your channels were renamed using the Silicondust lineup server, you may need to remap them from the new scan cache entries. (I may provide a fix for this later.)
