Hi,
Is there any way to configure GBPVR to show right to left content (Hebrew) as excepted ? I mean align to right and not align to left.
I mean to the EPG data for a specific TV program etc'...

  Jumpy recordings in 1.3.11
Posted by: wodger - 2009-10-08, 07:43 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Just in the last couple of days I'm seeing poor/jumpy recordings. The picture freezes up for a second frequently, stops and starts, but the sound is fine - until you get futher into the recording. It just gets worse the longer you watch. Playback is fine on older recordings. I restarted the computer only a few days ago and it's gone longer without a restart previously.

The total space in the recordings directory space available is 381GB of which I've used about 104GB, so probably neither of the two drives is full yet (not sure how Windows actually uses the space).

Could this be something to do with dynamic spanned disks being used as the recordings folder .. or maybe it just needs a defrag? It has been perfect up til now.

commercials detected but not skipper over during playback
Posted by: Wakalaka - 2009-10-08, 06:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have v1.4.7 installed and while it is detecting commercials, it isn't skipping past them during playback. How can I help debug this?

Create Manual Recording from External Program
Posted by: SkierHiker - 2009-10-08, 03:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

First, I apologize for not scouring the Forum for this answer but I'm in a time crunch and hopefully will get a reply soon.

I'm looking for away to create a manual timed recording from a Microsoft WPF application. I don't need the GB-PVR GUI only the Recording Service. What my WPF app is going to do is to create the recording, wait for it to start recording, then playback the recording using the WPF media control. This will run on a Windows 7 computer with a Hauppauge encoder. I tried this with MCE and everything worked except the WPF media control does not playback any sound from the WTV file so I'm hoping I can get it to work using GB-PVR and MPG files.

In case you're wondering, this app is a digital sign that encompasses a live TV feed in the middle.

Thanks - Mark.

Hauppauge 2250 - Channel mapping help needed
Posted by: jorm - 2009-10-08, 01:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

So i just got myself a new hauppauge 2250 for my new computer. WinTV can display the channels. I pulled the listings which is a 4 meg file with show info. I mapped the channels in config.

I believe I have the mux's setup correctly. The channels are enabled.

In the attached logs I see that it sees the shows.
2009-10-07 21:52:53.901 VERBOSE [4] - channel 26.1 WVENDT : 261 shows
2009-10-07 21:52:53.901 VERBOSE [4] - channel 27.2 WRDQDT2 : 334 shows

However when I click on tv guide it does not enter the guide. When I click search it is blank.

Any help would be appreciated.

  Adding second tuner
Posted by: Engineer_Ted - 2009-10-08, 12:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Man, had everything going well, until I added a second hauppauge wintv 1950 tuner.

Device manager sees both tuners, but when I plugged in the second tuner, the first tuner only receives static. Cable input is as good as always.

Swapped tuners (both usb) and got video back on one tuner (while keeping the second one unplugged) for the time being.

Then I decided to just delete all the capture sources and start from scratch. Both tuners plugged in, added the first tuner (in capture), 1950QAM, went to digital mapping section, it can't detect any channels.

I'm fried for the night, I can't even get one of these suckers to work let alone two. I did have one working with both plugged in at one point, but just can't seem to get both working.

Also re-installed the drivers on the disk that came with the tuners. I've rebooted and started the capture source from scratch. No go.

  Standalone to Server/Client Move
Posted by: dan7827 - 2009-10-07, 10:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

Hi all,
I've Been running gbpvr fine on my pc along with other background progs and decided it best to move them to a spare pc and make a server out of it. gbpvr 1.4.7 has been installed on the server, working 1.4.7 standalone config/db has been copied over and the db paths corrected. Thought all was well but neither client/server option is working fully, here's what I get:

  • File Sharing
Recordings work about as fast as running in a standalone setup. Live TV loads in also about the same time as a standalone setup but has stuttering playback (seems to me as issue when writing to the file server side and reading client side at the same time).
  • Streaming
Live TV works but with a huge delay when starting/changing a channel, recordings look like they are loading but only show a black screen and pvrx2 has to be killed.

Any ideas of a fix?

Thanks!

  Missing Something with Windows 7
Posted by: systemshark - 2009-10-07, 07:26 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Folks,

Ok I've missed something but I can't think what

it's a fresh windows 7 installation (Windows 7 Ultimate RTM) on my laptop (complete reformat) and I've got all the device drivers working fine and I'm good to go.

I've installed vcredist_x86.zip and GBPVR10407.msi.

Everything installed fine, Config works and is updating config.xml etc

When I start GBPVR is doesn't draw the GBPVR main menu, the Window is there and if up arrow and hit enter, I exit correctly....

I'm not seeing anthing in logs .. which I'll add once I'm home

Any suggestions??

  mencoder error messages
Posted by: fvfv - 2009-10-07, 04:45 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

I guess stattik might be able to help me with this, but I do not know how to post this specifically in his sub-forum.

I use stattik transcode script to convert mpg2 ATSC HD recordings to divx. It has worked extremely well in the past.

Due probably to errors on the stream or may be the BDA multiplexer that I use (ATI Mpeg Mux), there are cases where mencoder fails and the scripts hangs with a windows message error box. The script runs at night but due to the error it waits for some one to close the error message before continuing.

What this does is that if the script needs to run for 4 or 5 recordings , the system's memory is exhausted and the other recordings do not process or break the original recording.

Is there any way to tell mencoder to run "QUIET", like so many linux scripts that you add to the command line "--quiet" and the error messages are not displayed ?

I know that the script responds very well to %ERROR% variables if mencoder encounters an error, but due to that window error message, sometimes my recordings do not get transcoded and even worst, when I close the error message the script continues to the end deleting the original recording and now I have nothing.
