mc2xml EPG problem
Posted by: tjc - 2009-10-06, 02:05 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Is anyone else having problems with mc2xml program guide? Worked fine until updating Monday afternoon, now "no show details" for the OTA guide. I have not made any changes on my end. I'm thinking the problem is not with GB-PVR but with the service, emptying epg, then updating epg does not help. I use mc2xml also for my cable channels and that portion is working as it should. Zip here is 46123

  Jetcomp.exe used anymore?
Posted by: htewam - 2009-10-05, 11:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Been using gbpvr for a lot of years now... re-installing upgrades in the same directory. I noticed the other day that I still have jetcomp.exe in .\gbpvr with a datestamp of 8/11/1999... since gbpvr isn't using the .mdb database anymore, I wondered if this was just left-over trash that I could delete without messing up my installation.

No channels picked up during scan with HDHomeRun
Posted by: goplaycheckers - 2009-10-05, 10:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (25)

I've got a HDHomeRun running the latest 20090830 firmware and GBPVR 1.4.7 on a fresh install of Windows 7 (32bit). Windows Firewall is off. I run a channel scan in the HDHomeRun software and pick up 44 channels, and the tuner light blinks on the front of the HDHomeRun while the scan is in progress. I then configure a tuner in GBPVR config and attempt to scan for channels, but get no channels, and no indication that GBPVR is even communicating with the HDHomeRun. Any ideas?

Logs are attached, thanks in advance!

  Networking over the internet
Posted by: highflyer875 - 2009-10-05, 09:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I have GBPVR working fine with my HVR-2250 tuner card, but I am having no luck setting up my client/ server so I can watch my files and stream live TV from my server box in Cleveland and watch on my client computer in FL.

Sever is XP Home and Client is Vista Business 32 bit.

My goals:
1) Stream live TV over the net like the sling box pro.
2) Stream live TV over the home network.
3) Set my server computer to record using the web and home network
4) Watch files on my server over the net(not home network) to my client

I have read the WIKI and many of the threads on Networking, but it just is not clear on how to set up the Client to to search the web for the proper DSN address. I have turned off my firewall on the Server and still can not see the web page to set the recorder over the web. http://000.000.00.00:7647/gbpvr/index.aspx (using my DSN number for my wifi router).http://111.222.33.44:7647/gbpvr/Login.aspx does not work either.

Should I be using the DSN of the computer itself? If so where do I fine the DSN in XP?

I have set the GBPVR file folders on the server for sharing over the network as instructed on my C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\ and F: drive (record folder).

Under instruction #6 on the WIKI under Networking it says: At the right side of the page, there will be 4 fields (Server, recordings share, live tv buffer share, Database share. Fill these in with the server’s name and the three shares that you created.

Do I need to place the DSN number there and then the folders of just the home network name and destination?

Any cheat sheet instruction sheet would be helpfull. I will try again from the Wiki under PC Client. Thank you for your help

  Web server on 1.4.7 gone?
Posted by: daneo - 2009-10-05, 07:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Is anyone having issues on 1.4.7 with the web interface? The upgrade went smoothly, no issues -- but no response on my browsers either!

I see nothing in netstat or log files that show anything is wrong...

  No Sound or Picture
Posted by: zb1 - 2009-10-05, 07:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

---SHORT STORY---
I get some channels that have picture & sound while other have either picture or sound. I've read the posts and have tried what was suggested, but the problem still exist. Does anyone have any insight into why this occurs and how to fix it?

---THE TALE---
I've been using this product for a little over a month and have managed to figure out and find various answers in support. However, the number one problem that I'm having is the picture & sound issue. I've installed, reinstalled and modified the config file to no avail. I've even used the QAM.ini manager to create QAM files and spent alot of time scanning and matching channels. And it's not always the same channels that has the problem. What I ultimately wanted was to have all the channels available to me on my HDHomeRun to also be available to me on GBPVR. On this last reinstall (wiped everything off) I discovered that HDHomeRun actually creates a QAM file with all the frequencies that needed to be scanned for same channels. And it worked. But as I said earlier there is a problem with some channels having either picture or sound and not both and this prevents me from watching and/or recording those channels. I'm sure there is an easy solution to this problem, but I have not found it yet. Hopefully someone in the know will have the answer and will tell me the solution.

  built in encoding que
Posted by: tvshowman - 2009-10-05, 07:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi!

Is there any way i can view the current encoding que and am I able to open the file in notepad to rearrange it as needed?

Also does gbpvr continue from the que after a reboot or crash or is there a way to continue the next file in the que after reboot?

Thanks so much

  fm radio on pvr-150 MCE
Posted by: pastro - 2009-10-05, 04:37 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have a PVR-150 MCE card with FM but the FM radio plugin doesn't show up. I am using the standard pvr-150 driver and not the MCE driver. I seem to remember I download a separate driver for FM a long time ago when GBPVR used to support FM. Is there a separate driver for FM, or do I need to load the PVR-150 MCE driver? Or something else?
