  Irremote.ini
Posted by: bethanyrayne - 2009-09-20, 10:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I used to have 32 bit windows and the first line in my .ini file was

GRNPOWER={run(c:\progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\pvrx2.exe)}

I now have windows 7 64bit and it doesn't work.

Can someone tell me how it has to be changed. It seems to fail because 64 bit has 2 Program Files with one having the added X86

My .ini file is attached

Trouble getting 1.4.7 to show my EPG
Posted by: KS4UA - 2009-09-20, 02:23 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

This is a "clean install". I've had it working TWICE in the last two days, but now it's not working, I can't figure out what I am doing wrong, and it's driving me nuts. Wink

In config (and yes...I've done this dozens of times in the past so I am not a newb), I am trying to setup my HVR-1800 analog tuner. BTW it's working in two other TVv iewers/Media Centers just fine, so it's not a "hardware problem". Anway, I setup the HVR-1600 as a Capture Source (chose Analog Recording Plugin) and set the EPG to XMLTV. I know I've got a good XMLTV file out there. If I open it in a text editor, it's full of data.

Then I choose 'Update EGP' and it loads all the channels I can get on my local cable provider. Great...works like always.

Then, I exit out of Config.....it restarts the recording service.

I run PVRX2, select TV and NADA. Bounces right back to the main menu.

Yes, I HAVE rebooted the whole machine.

If I go back into Config, the Capture Source is properly configured. A couple of times earlier today when I tried this...even the capture source wasn't shown as being saved in Config, so I uninstalled GBPVR and started all over again.

Any ideas on what I might be doing incorrectly?

Post processing of TS file for PS3
Posted by: GSpanFan - 2009-09-20, 02:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I recently got a HD Homerun to record HD OTA programming which is scheduled through GBPVR. Since I don't have a dedicated frontend computer, I'd like to stream the files to my PS3 using PS3 Media Server.

Has anyone had success doing this?

The problem I am having is that the TS files recorded by GBPVR seem to not be readable by the PS3. Accordingly, I can either (1) transcode the stream in real time using PS3 Media Server or (2) try to post process the file into a format native to the PS3. I've found that doing realtime transcoding (in a way that doesn't create audio sync issues) isn't very stable and, thus, isn't really a good option. I've also used TSMuxer to post process a TS file to make a M2TS file (which is searchable using the PS3 in a way that is not allowable using realtime transcoding option), but I have had some audio sync issues (even using the timeshift option in TSMuxer cli). However, some files have less sync issues that others and when converted, those seem to run well. I should note that the TS files always play fine in VLC with proper sync, but that the M2TS file do not.

BTW, I do realize I could probably transcode to a different format, but would prefer not to if possible. The nice thing about TSMuxer, is that it can run in about 3 minutes for a 30 min recording and still keep the high resolution of the original recording. But I think converting to an avi would probably take a lot of time and I suspect that I'd lose some video quality.

Does anyone have any advice?

Recorded videos pause every few minutes
Posted by: tomekz - 2009-09-19, 10:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (32)

When playing back recorded videos the video pauses every few minutes, the sounds is still playing but the video pauses.

If I hit the play button or FWD or backwards it starts playing normal again, but will pause in a few minutes.

Anyone have any suggestions?

thanks,
Tom

  TV guide table colour
Posted by: Pob - 2009-09-19, 08:51 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

Sorry if I am being dense, but how can I change the TV guide table colour?
I have changed the font colour in the guide by editing skin2\blue\TV Guide\skin.xml and changing the colour for "ListingStyle" & "TimelineStyle", but can't see where the table colour is set...
Reason is I don't like the white on a black background, it hurts my eyes!

Option to watch Live version of recording show
Posted by: Elmo Putney - 2009-09-19, 06:29 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (10)

Small niggle this..

If I go to the EPG and want to watch the live tv stream of a program I'm recording the only way to do it is to choose a program on a channel next door, get live tv going then channel up or down to the channel the program I want to watch is on.

Would be nice to have a "play" and a "watch now" button in the EPG

I updated my ffdshow filters (to ffdshow tryouts revision 2527) to solve another problem recently and now I can no longer play *.mkv files. I've attached my zipped config.xml and logs...can anyone see what I need to change to be able to play these files again?

  High Processor Usage
Posted by: rbelisle - 2009-09-19, 05:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have a strange circumstance that causes PVRX2 to use almost all processor...

- Schedule a recording, record the show, comskip is run after the show is done.
- Go into PVRX2 and everything is fine, processor-wise. Can look at the recording, tv guide, etc...
- When you go to live TV, processor usage goes up to 100% and live tv starts (delayed for a while because the processor is busy) then all you get is frame updates every couple of seconds.

Shut down PVRX2 and restart the recording service, start Live TV again. Works fine. Start a recording, then cancel it so it doesn't complete. Everything is fine.

Not sure if it is comskip causing the problem or what else it could be.

Logs attached.
