  Trouble Scanning Channel 5
Posted by: weisguy - 2009-09-08, 01:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

For some reason, none of the cable channel scans options in the (BEAUTIFUL!) new interface are picking up my USA cable 5 channel frequency, 77250 MHz. I had the same problem on my last build and used to overcome it using qam.ini manager as described here:

http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=13

...and in fact I helped whurlston realize qam.ini manager was forcing the wrong frequency, too, which triggered his latest revision.

It looks like the new scan interface doesn't allow qam.ini manager to meddle, so I am trying to manually scan 77250 Mhz, on which Comcast sends me two channels. The manual scan button, which allows me to specify just this channel/frequency, just picks up the first one over and over again, slowly filling up the screen (with only one attempt - I am not initiating the scan more than once):

What's the easiest way to definitely get gbpvr to pick up both channels on 77250 Mhz?

Thank you!

  Suddenly Stopped Recording
Posted by: talkinggoat - 2009-09-08, 01:34 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I've been using GB-PVR for about a year, now, and it suddenly stopped recording. The service is running, I have loads of free space on the drive, and pvrx2 starts, but when I try to watch TV, the screen either stays black or goes back to the guide. What's up? There are no errors on in the event viewer, or anywhere that I can see.

  Problems with Network Browse...
Posted by: forzaKGB - 2009-09-07, 09:48 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (24)

Hi

I just bought a NTM A-110 and happily installed it tonight, have been using a MVP för a few years now and have been quite happy with that.

After installing with the NMTInstall (upgraded to 1.4.7) I could get no further, I have tried almost everything I can think of and have gotten a bit on the way.

My problem lies in my mediaserver with the Network browser. I do have Simple filesharing enabled. But I cannot access the mvpmc share on the machine (not from my other computers either, no matter what credentials I try) so there are most definatly something wrong with the server. I do have a couple of shares that I CAN access and when I put the files in one of those folders I can view GB-PVR.html but get no further...

And trying to access the share with other credentials (including Administrator) will not work either.

Is a complete re-install of the server the only option or can this installation be saved (I have been thinking of building a new system but as we are currently rebuilding our kitchen so I thought I would limit the expenses a bit)?

Hope you can follow my problem, I feel quite tired and will try to perhaps make more sense tomorrow.

  1.4.7 + MVP + long file names = reboot?
Posted by: pbj - 2009-09-07, 09:12 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

I haven't used my MVP in a long time, but following the 1.4.7 upgrade I decided to give it a run round the houses to check I hadn't done something daft and wouldn't you know it...
It appears that the MVP reboots if the filename is long. I haven't got to the exact length when the reboot occurs, but it would seem to be happening with filenames (including path) of more than 120 characters.
In looking in the MVP log it just looks like the MVP quits (see below)

I'm running from XP with the standard dongle.

GBPVR has been stable for me for so long, I've forgotten how to fix things! What have I broken?

Start and end time -25:-49:-45 on PCH, but looks OK on PC client
Posted by: Sheik Yerbouti - 2009-09-07, 06:33 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (59)

Yesterday I recorded a TV show (DVB-C) that has a strange start and end time in the time line of the OSD on the PCH. But when I play it with GBPVR on my PC the timeline is fine, and skipping works to. I do notice that GBPVR has some trouble getting the right end time, the seconds change a lot in the beginning of the file.
I've had several of these recordings lately, and the problem is that I can't skip forward (or backward) with that messed up timeline. There probably are some reception errors in the file, but since it plays in the PC client, I'd like the same behaviour in mvpmcx2 Smile

  (new) DVD playback is poor
Posted by: pduncan67 - 2009-09-07, 06:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I have been running my system without issues for some time. I just installed a DVD drive. When I play video on it, the picture 'shimmies' from side to side. It occasionally stops the side to side and plays correctly, but then starts it again.
I have the same problem when viewing w/ windows media player as well as gbpvr.
Any ideas how I can fix this?

Hi all
I think there is a config problem in the last version of gbpvr.
If i delete one tv card from source and i try to add the same one, after the setting when i try autoscan on the screen appear the title message.
I suppose that the program doesn't delete the deleted card setting.

somebody had got this issue?

  16x10 aspect ratio not right
Posted by: StumpyB - 2009-09-07, 05:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi sub.

I have a 16x10 monitor (1920x1200) and select Television Shape Widescreen (16x10) in GB-PVR.

In 1.3.11 I used to get small black bars top/bottom of a live TV window - and the picture looked correct aspect ratio wise.

In 1.4.7 I now see a picture stretched to fill the frame (no black bars, incorrect aspect ratio). Playing newly recorded .ts files with VLC they still have the correct aspect ratio - they're just wrong when playing them through GB-PVR.

I don't often play recorded .ts files through GB-PVR, but thought it was worth mentioning ...

Cheers, Simon.

  First Time Set-Up Help!
Posted by: eternalwonderer - 2009-09-07, 05:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

Hi everyone!

I have just downloaded GBPVR and am trying to get it set up to receive Freeview, Freesat, some channels from 19.2E and the MPEG4 DTT service from the ROI.

I have tried to set up the DVB-T side of things but a scan is not bringing anything up. I have went through the sticky with the walkthrough and checked the settings and they are what i believe to be correct but a scan still finds nothing. Can anyone offer any help?

Also, I would like to set up my dish which is on a Diseqc for 28,2E and 19.2E. I notice too that Eurobird is set up as a seperate satellite too, so do I have to then set up 3 different tuning parameters for each satellite or is there a setting that will do at least the 28.2/28.5 in one?

Many thanks for any help!
