  Shutdown/Restart Exits to Desktop
Posted by: smajor - 2009-09-06, 06:18 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I'm afraid my forum search-fu has failed me.

Several versions ago there was a setting that sub left in place for testing purposes that made it into a release. When choosing shutdown or restart from the main, it would instead just exist to the Desktop.

I'm taking my long weekend (Labor Day here in the US) to clean up little annoyances. I'm afraid I was too lazy at the time to fix this, now I can find the setting.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

  pvr 150 mce + hip + shaw digital box - not working as expected...whats missing?
Posted by: pogimon - 2009-09-06, 05:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi All,

I just installed a second capture card (pvr 150 mce) mostly because of the IR Blaster so I can control the shaw digital box. I have installed it, configured it using Hip (following the hip guide 2 from the wiki). I have updated my epg to pull the proper channels that I want (including the higher channels above 70 which require the digital box).

So, I am now able to go through the guide and watch the channels as before (channels 2 - 70) but the higher channels I not able to. My thinking was that the tv channel needs to stay on channel 3 and the blaster will be changing the shaw digital box's channel. What it looks like is that when I am in gbpvr and changing the channel, its still changing the actual tuner channel. I think this is the cause of why I cannot watch the higher channels.

What I am missing in the settings of gbpvr so that the actual tuner channel stays at 3 and that gbpvr actually changes the shaw digital box channels instead?

Just to reiterate, I do have HIP configured as per the wiki using the same files as attached in the wiki, the tuners set up with the correct device # in the config, and the epg pulling all the proper channels and mappings.

Please help!

  subtitle in video library
Posted by: pBS - 2009-09-06, 03:44 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

it would be really nice to have the subtitle and description show up in video library osd just like when playing in recordings, if the info is there in metadata or xml.....

and i guess i should make an official request that subtitle be even shown in video library for that to happen...Smile [currently only title and description and genre and running time]

makes client usability greater cuz comskip works great in vid lib, making for an almost complete recordings screen replacement for use in streaming mode..

i had to bump up client caching to get skip free client mode in this release...? [1.4.7]
first time in ages i've had to do anything to make client mode work..

  HVR 930c, missing some recordings
Posted by: mila06 - 2009-09-06, 10:33 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have a HVR 930 and uses the "c" part. Normaly it records as expected, but occasionally it seems like it is recording, but it only creates a file that is 5 kb. This can happen when i just turn on my media center, open the EPG and hti the record button on a show that is already started.
Yesterday i did this in the second half of a football game, and i think the log looks "funny"(20:53 to 22:15).

Can anyone tell my what's going on?

NB:
I uses MS DVR Mux!

I've made a few minor changes to MovieWiz skin you may want to include in your next update.

  • List position info counter (with clickable arrows)
  • Color remote button info on bottom of screen.

  Config hangs on HDHomerun scan 1.4.7
Posted by: TonyUniopolis - 2009-09-06, 02:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Weird issue with HDHomerun scan. Deleted all of my capture sources after upgrading to 1.4.7. Reloading sources to reload channel lineups after many cable company changes. Performed the new load of the HDHomerun software and performed the scan.

My qam.ini now includes the following:
[CABTYPE]
1=All Countries
2=All Frequencies

[DVB]
0=12
1=529250,0,0
2=565250,0,0
3=583250,0,0
4=589250,0,0
5=595250,0,0
6=601250,0,0
7=619250,0,0
8=685250,0,0
9=691250,0,0
10=709250,0,0
11=739250,0,0
12=745250,0,0

Then I proceed to do the digital mapping scan and the config app hangs after scanning the fifth frequency. I have to end the application and have tried everything from restarting to deleting the source and starting again. Same result each time.

Finally I try a manual scan and enter '619250' from the list and the scan begins. The first found entry in entered over and over in a loop to the 'Digital Channels found during scan:' window until the application hangs. I have tried this with all of the entries after '595250' and they all exhibit this behavior.

It never seems to move on to scan other channels on this frequency. (and there are other channels on these frequencies.) Am I missing a config setting?

I've attached the logs folder. There are different messages, but I'm not sure what they are telling me. The 'VERBOSE SIGNAL???' message seems to be in all scans that are having this issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  20080930 dongle problems with wMVP
Posted by: JavaWiz - 2009-09-06, 02:04 AM - Forum: MVPMC dongle - Replies (2)

I've recently resurrected my wMVP and have been trying to get the mvpmc dongle working. I downloaded the dongle.mvpmc-20080930.bin and have been trying to use that. Note that I can get the wMVP working with the Hauppauge dongle.

With the 20080930 dongle selected, I can get through the load from GBPVR, then on the reboot of the wMVP, the mvpmc screen appears, on the 7th block, it stays blinking from white to blue.

As the dongle is being ftp'd to the device, I can ping the wMVP, once complete, and wMVP reboots with the new dongle, the device becomes unreachable and gets stuck on the mpvmc load screen as described above.

Is there a problem with that version of the dongle and wireless? I have not tried wired as the wMVP setup is in a different part of the house without any wired connection availabe.

  How to do a clean install and retain history?
Posted by: time_lord - 2009-09-06, 01:05 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi, This week I want to do a clean install of GBPVR. I.e on a freshly formatted hard drive, clean install of windows (which is currently ropey), I want to install GBPVR without upgrading a previous install. (Since I've had several versions in the past and trial & error with countless codec packs until I got good ones, this is a good opportunity to clean all that up.)

The only thing is I want to retain all my old recordings. Is there a way to do a clean install but also port over that part of the old database?

Cheers

  Checkbox for enabling/disabling tuners
Posted by: liteswap - 2009-09-06, 12:17 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

As someone who's had to do a bit faffing about enabling (adding) and disabling (removing) the same tuners, each time adding to the scan cache number, each time having to add and map channels etc., would it not be a great idea to be able to disable a tuner by deselecting a checkbox, rather than removing it?

This means you keep all the channel mappings and scan cache items associated with it - it just doesn't do anything while disabled.

Sub: any reason why not?
