  MCE Remote & Keyboard Issues
Posted by: jburbaum - 2009-09-07, 04:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

New user, new installation (1.4.7), new computer (Vista 64 SP1 Pentium dual core E5200, 4 GB ram) dedicated to media center use.

Finally got the latest version installed and working, mostly satisfactory, except that intermittently, the wireless USB devices stop working. I've got a Diamond "All-in-Wonder" setup which comes with an IR remote, one with a green button, so I've supposed it's an MCE remote. It works with GBPVR without any other plugins. I also have an IOGEAR long-range keyboard/mouse that I use with the computer.

Several times over the past couple of days, I've had to restart the computer when trying to change sources. The MCE remote stops working (can't get to menu to exit), although the receiver is still seeing a signal (well, it blinks). At the same time, the keyboard/mouse stops functioning, so I can't do anything other than a hardware restart. It's more of an annoyance than a real bug, but it's happened often enough that I figure somethings not wired in quite right.

Per the "guide" I'm posting logs for expert review.

I'm otherwise absolutely delighted in the performance and features of the package, and appreciate all the hard work that's gone into bringing it to this advanced stage.

IR Blaster to Digital Box Issues
Posted by: meccano - 2009-09-07, 02:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi,

I use the IR Blaster to change channels on a General Instrument (Motorolla) DCT2500 set top box on Shaw cable. My problem is that this works unreliably, about 5% of the time the channel change request fails as it switches to the wrong channel.

I use code set 0081 and have GBPVR set to always send 3 digits. Whenever I test manually, the channel changes work fine but through GBPVR they fail 5% of the time as "005" appears to get interpreted as "00", "043" is taken as "04" or "127" is taken as "27", etc.

I've played with the IR Blaster "Advanced Configuration" a bit but as I can't reproduce the problem I never know if I've solved it until it fails again. Has one had a similar problem and came up with a solution?

  Skinning help - FanArt
Posted by: tm12 - 2009-09-07, 02:28 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

I noticed that sub added "FanArt" to the video library skin.xml How does one use it?

Edit:
Think I've got it sort of working. And also rename the image file to fanart.jpg

Code:
<CompositeImage name="FanArt" size="100,100"> <DrawImage filename="@fanArt" loc="0,0" size="100,100"/> </CompositeImage>

  Config hangs on exit 1.4.7
Posted by: dennit - 2009-09-07, 12:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Config.exe hangs when I try to exit normally. I can cancel, but when I respond OK it just gives me Vista's circular hourglass symbol.

The last line in Config.exe.log is always a simple:

Code:
2009-09-07 08:21:17.576 INFO [1] Config is saving settings
The last lines in Config.exe-native.log is always :
Code:
2009-09-07 08:29:04.027 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: ATI MPEG Multiplexer 2009-09-07 08:29:04.037 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: InterVideo Multiplexer 2009-09-07 08:29:04.052 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: ShowShifter MPEG PS Writer 2009-09-07 08:29:04.062 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: MainConcept (Hauppauge) MPEG Multiplexer

The title bar shows (Not Responding). Eventually I hit the red X and tell Vista to close the program. I'm not sure how long this has been going on, but I usually just open up config.xml or gbpvr.db3 and do it manually.

I've tried disabling plugins, without any improvement. Suggestions would be welcome!

  mux mpeg2 elecard
Posted by: sakamotodj - 2009-09-07, 08:04 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hi,
I have a question about gbpvr mux mpeg2.
On my mediacenter previously there were installed:
haali media splitter
saf 4.0 beta 9
gbpvr 1.47

there are 2 tv cards:
Hauppauge hvr-1300
hauppauge hvr-3000

The problem was, if i tried to watch some channels like k2 in italy or others i could watch video but couldn't listen audio. i tried to modify mpeg audio configuration like ffdshow but without success.

The only way to obtain a good result was install elecard driver from dvbprog installer after that all channels are with audio and video.

Why had i problem without elecard?

Elecard is a good mpeg2 mux but there is always the logo on the top right side on the tv and i don't like it.

Some suggestion to remove it?

Thanks

  Good Windows Web Hosting?
Posted by: reven - 2009-09-07, 01:07 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

anyone have any recommendations for windows web hosting?

i would like
- server 2008 (for iis7)
- url rewrite module installed for iis7
- sql server 2008 (multiple dbs)
- ability to host 3 websites or more
- lots of bandwidth a month (unlimited would be nice, but not needed)
- fast

cheaper the better, but i dont mind paying a few dollars more for a better host.

my current one is far too expensive for what it is

  Program hangs during mapping
Posted by: overlandpark4me - 2009-09-06, 11:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

I'm using the Hauppauge 1800 card and I went through the steps without an issue until I got to the mapping part. The live TV box shows the first channel, and it lets me map it, but when I click to the next channel it hangs the program and I have to close it to get it to work again. I tried some other programs trial without an issue, but I'm stumped on why this is occurring.

OS - XP SP3
Vid - 4850
CPU - 8400

Any thoughts appreciated.

  .ts's over MVPMC
Posted by: steeb - 2009-09-06, 10:53 PM - Forum: MVPMC dongle - Replies (14)

Hi all,

just done major rebuild for GBPVR 1.4.7.

Have been following with interest threads re .ts files for ages so decided to commit on this rebuild. As I was rebuilding/playing I had Live TV working fine over my MVP's with .ts mux.

(Having done the catch all setting for MVP transcode 'false' in config and Mac defaults.)

So this was all working fine whilst I played but now that I've cranked whole system up and committed to it I've now lost Live TV even though it worked fine the last couple of days. I have played with Live TV delay from 600-2000 and tried both the MVPMC dongles that I was using the other day (dated 30-09-08 & 15-12-08).

Just to check went out for my B-day today and recorded a couple of progs on BDA with .ts 1 x transcoded to Mpeg other one still .ts and .ts plays beautifully via MVP and I have to say much improved quality. I know that for many the MVP is end of road now but in my Kitchen and Bathroom it still rocks!

Can anyone spot what I've missed, to sum up no problem with the .ts to MVP, and before Martin tells me I shouldn't do Live TV to MVP :-) i had it working yesterday fine!!!

Cheers

Steeb

MVPMCX2 and 576/PAL support on NMT
Posted by: OrakelJos - 2009-09-06, 06:59 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (79)

As I have already previously indicated on the NMT forum the SD (PAL) picture quality of the NMT in my case is not as good as that from the MediaMVP. After further testing I noticed that when I play recordings directly from the NMT interface with 576 or PAL the quality is as good as on the MediaMVP while with 720P the picture is blurry/not sharp.
It seems that the upscaling from SD/PAL (720x576) on my Pioneer plasma TV is better then the NMT.
I have tried to use MVPMCX2 with GBPVR on 576 and PAL through the component connection but that does not work. I just get a black screen. Of course I have changed the the display settings in the GBPVR config settings but that does not seems to be the problem.
When looking into the binary file I see the command line options for both 576 and PAL but is it possible that those are not implemented?
Martin, can you shine some light on this problem?

Live TV closed captions (ATSC) + HDMI audio missing in timeshift
Posted by: pvruser - 2009-09-06, 06:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

i'm running the latest version (1.4.7) and trying to get live captions to work in ATSC. i'm using multirecord. for later viewing i have ccextractor that gets srt files so that's working fine.

the second issue i have is that even though the captions work fine in time shift live TV (with the intervideo/vmr9 and VMR9 custom settings) the audio switches from HDMI to the directsound (i hear it on the sound card) thus there's no more sound in time shift.

here's the log for time shift (sound not on HDMI but captions OK):

i think it's possible force to always have delayed live TV from config (don't remember the settings now) but it's useless if there's no HDMI sound...

any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks!
