PCH A100 vs Egreat
Posted by: soccerdad - 2009-08-19, 04:46 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (11)

I am getting ready to buy a NMT now. Given the $99PCH refurbs are available, is this a better deal than the Egreat? It does not look like I would give up much by buying the PCH. I only watch .ts shows from HD QAM recordings and sometimes DVDs that saved as ISOs but I can convert them if needed. I don't need anything except basic stereo output but digital sound would be nice in the future. Is there any need for a hard drive? from what I have read, I take it that I would not need one.

  Recurring
Posted by: Paul D. Bellamy - 2009-08-19, 03:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Sorry for this simple question, but I've gotten blind, I guess.

How do I turn a "one time only" recording of a program into a "recurring" recording of a program? I've tried everything I can think of, but I can no longer accomplish this. (I have done it before, but can't remember how).

I can't find the answer in the manual, either.

Thanks for any help. BTW, I have Win XP and 1.03.11.

  "Waiting" Animated Popup
Posted by: TonyXL - 2009-08-19, 02:33 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

When doing a "Search Guide", it can sometimes take a while to get the results if you have a lot of channels. It would be nice if the interface displayed a popup with an animated clock that said, "Please wait..." or something like that. Currently the screen just sits there and it appears frozen while searching.

This would be nice in other situations too. Sometimes if I delete a recording when there is other hard drive activity happening (i.e., guide update), it takes 5 seconds or so. It would be nice to see a "Please wait..." animation here as well instead of a frozen screen.

Thanks,
Tony

  Exit MVPMCX2 on Egreat M34A?
Posted by: wsmaal - 2009-08-19, 12:51 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (12)

I use GBPVR many years on my (Windows) PC mainly as PVR after (automatically) skipping the commercials with comskip.

Installing mvpmcx2 with CSI is a peace of cake. On my NMT GBPVR works well but I can't exit mvpmcx2, except reboot the NMT ;-( The power button of the Egreat M34A remote (the red one in the top corner) switch off the NMT (no standby feature). After purchasing the Egreat M34A I discovered that the remote Control of the Egreat M34A missing many keys (F.i. the colored keys too).

The "exit button" on the (client) GBPVR main menu isn't available and the exit button in "system" doesn't work. How can I exit mvpmcx2 (GBPVR) with the RC of my NMT (Egreat M34A)?

Recording jumps x seconds during playback - WAF is dropping fast!
Posted by: McBainUK - 2009-08-19, 12:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (27)

I've found that a number of recordings jump during plackback, skipping anything from a few seconds to 5 minutes worth of video. Watching the OSD timeline you can see it freeze and/or elapsed-time shown will speed up prior to the jump.

I can repeat this on several GB-PVR installations with a variety of combinations of audio and video decoders. I wonder if it's the GB-PVR .ts reader not handling the file (corruption?) in the best way? VLC and WMP play the file OK.

Any suggestions?

edit: I can supply an example file (or a snippit of it somehow) if required

  No Video on Live TV
Posted by: DrisannaH - 2009-08-19, 10:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I'm at my wit's end here. Everything works fine except Live TV. I get no video. I can record, and the recording is fine. If I pause Live TV and then resume, I get video. But no amount of changing the renderer nor decoders has worked to get video when I try to just watch Live TV. I get sound just fine.

I am running XP x64 SP2
Athlon64 x2 2.70 GHz
4 GB RAM
GeForce 8800 GT
Hauppauge WinTV HVR-2250

I would appreciate any insight anybody is able to give me.

Dual HVR-2250 problem with Analog and Digital recording
Posted by: j3dante37@gmail.com - 2009-08-19, 06:37 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I recently removed all my devices in GBPVR and readded them because I thought there was an issue with my program guide and I wanted to add my PVR-500 as a way to get my set-top-box added to the mix. I haven't gotten that far.

The last go around I added a total of 8 capture devices (4 analog + 4 Digital = 8) (2 HVR-2250's). I tried that and it wasn't working. I made some changes and it appears now that I can record 4 digital channels at once if I have 2 digital capture devices. The only way that I can capture 4 analog channels at once is if I have 4 seperate capture devices. BUT if I try to record 4 digital channels and then request to add an analog channel I'm not stopped.

How do I get GBPVR to recognize that the card is busy?

J3

MovieWiz - Movie Sorting - Sort By Release Date
Posted by: NeoH4x0r - 2009-08-19, 04:58 AM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - No Replies

I was hoping that we could have the sort options updated to include (in both the Manager & GBPVR Interface <== Especially in GBPVR):
Sort by Release date (ascending & descending).

That way the newest released movies would be at the top/bottom depending on the above mode.

Thanks.

  Plugin notification of stopped media
Posted by: mvallevand - 2009-08-19, 04:03 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (7)

Is any message sent back to a plugin when media is stopped outside of the plugin or while the plugin is in screen saver mode? If not is there a way to add an event handler to PluginHelperFactory where I could do some clean up code?

GB-PVR startup: signal strength zero after reboot
Posted by: hbradlow - 2009-08-19, 02:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I am using a USB dongle based on the E3C EC168 based chip (the Tuner is a Sinovideo SV 3420F DVB-T. When I reboot my machine and open GB-PVR it shows a signal strength and quality of zero for all channels. If I then run the software that comes with the tuner, it plays all channels. After that GB-PVR works perfectly with all channels.
It is almost as though the tuner needs its accompanying software to wake it up. Is that possible? Any suggestions?
