I added an m2ts file that I ripped from Blu-Ray. I went into MovieWiz and did a search on m2ts. I was able to add it to the library. When I went to my PCH and selected the movie, MovieWiz got non-responsive. I could exit or powertoggle, but I couldn't do anything else after hitting play. When I tried to go to the video details, it got real slow (I thought it locked up). I checked the config.xml for GBPVR and m2ts is in the extensions list.
I connected my GBPVR to SwissCenter and was able to play the m2ts from the PCH fine. I am guessing this is a MovieWiz issue, but not sure. I looked through the support forum and this forum and didn't find a similar issue. If you need a log file, let me know.
My current set up is GB-PVR on my PC (in my home office it is are main PC) and a wired MVP in the family room connected to the plasma. Will this plug in allow me to download movies via our Netflix account to watch on the plasma?
I'm toying with going the Freesat route, since I can't get anything other than four analogue terrestrial channels where I live.
I've searched the forum and come up with these potential gotchas:
1. Getting a dish installed
2. EPG - is one available?
3. CPU - will I need to upgrade the PVR (see sig for current setup)?
4. Simultaneous recording/viewing - excuse the stupid q but can one DB-S receiver enable simultaneous channel reception, or is it like analogue, where I need one receiver per recording?
I set PVRX2 to record "Being Human Unearthed" which ran from 0110-0210 and it failed to do anything more than create and empty folder because the clocks in the UK all went forward at 1am which then became 2am so PVRX2 thought the programme which was an hour long had already ended. When I looked at the TV Guide I found that on every channel at around this time at the end of every programme there was a blank box saying "(no show details)" for the length of the programme before it ie. 0210-0310 which is where the programme should have been. The EPG on my set top box did not suffer from this problem so it must be the way PVRX2 stores programme times which is to blame.
Isn't there some way of storing the EPG information using UTC which isn't affected by changes in British Summer Time so that when Windows changes the time on the computer clock at 1am to BST the time of the recording isn't affected since it is stored as UTC which can be deduced from the Windows clock by knowing when BST starts and ends.
I can't figure this one out - it happens often to be a PITA though... 1.3.11 - Nova-T 500 - UK Freeview...
I was watching live TV via the MVP. There was a recording scheduled to start at 17:00 with 5 mins pre-padding. A few seconds before 17:00 live TV gets kicked back to the main menu. The recording started OK, but with no pre-padding.
It looks like recordingservice decided to use tuner#2 for the recording - I can't figure out from the logs why tuner#1 wasn't available...
Are there any sites, software or plugins that would let me select a movie and would then notify me when it's going to come on network/cable tv (email rss or other alert)?
It seems like a sufficiently useful service that someone would have thought of it, but my googling did not turn up anything. But I figured if it existed, someone here would know about it.
