Trying to use the Arcsoft H264 decoder in gpbvr. It shows up as an option in the advanced tab and I can choose it and set parameters. But on playback there is no video - just audio.

Is this a supported codec for H264 content?

I have been using PDVD8 H264 decoder which works okay but I am unable to turn of HW acceleration (XP - the DXVA tab) - well whether I turn it on or off HW acceleration is always on and I need it off for SD content

I am trying to learn how to configure GBPVR with my Hauppage 2250, and wondered about tuner numbers with the multiple analog/digital tuners inside. So, I saw the wiki page about DeviceTypeCheck. Problem is, when I run it, it just opens a blank white window, and it never populates that window with any text.

The contencts of the "DeviceTypeCheck.exe-native" log file are below:

So, why could it not find the requested device? And, why does it think it wants to find a PVR 150?

I just got GB PVR working with my PVR250. The problem is that the Live TV feed starts to stutter after about 10 seconds of play and gets progressively worse. Changing the channel restarts the clock on the problem. I have tried changing the renderers and decoders in the configuration program and got no change. Streaming music works fine. I am using version 1.3.11 with no plugins.

Does anyone have any advice?

Suddenly GBPVR was taking several minutes to go from the main menu into either the Recordings or the Video Library. I had just changed the database directly (deleted some channels, renamed, etc. - yes I know I shouldn't do it this way, but it's imposssible for me to do the correct way) and I'd changed some plugins and MDAPI files. I'd also changed my main recording drive (the old one had filled up, and I had a new one that was empty, so I just changed the pointer to the new one).

Replacing gbpvr.db3 did not fix it, so I undid everything with a restore. This did fix it. I then redid each step carefully checking to see if the slow problem reappeared. After all the steps were repeated, it was still working OK ... for about a day, then it was back to incredibly slow to enter Recordings or the Video Library again.

This time I checked the logs carefully and noted that it was taking a minute and a half after I requested it to show the Recordings to do the "/CheckForRenamedRecordings" steps. There were over 300 of these entries (only two shown below):

ok, i have question that is two fold.

i have a music library that is on a client of the gbpvr the server sees it fine and will play the library no problem. how ever the clients do not see the music.
my music is on a client and syncs to my ipod. i do not want to move the music to the server. all so all the computers in the house look to the network drive for music. the drive is shared but does not allow any one else to wright to it. i have problems with widows media moving files and then ituens cant find them. it gets a mess. any how i want the clients gbpvrs to see the music. should i just set up a maped drive on all the computer and set the music folder there?

all so looking for a plug in that will allow a play list and and random play and not move the files around at all. or convert them. i can alow it to wright to the drive if i have to for some time but dont want to leave it that way.

As the title of this thread says, I can't seem to cleanly install the driver for my new 1600 card. I used the Setup program that came with the card and did an Install Drivers. It says that the drivers were installed successfully and i need to reboot. I then rebooted. I then get a Found New Hardware device.

My problem is that the HW Manager can't find the drivers. I tried pointing it to various directories that have worked for other devices but still no luck.

Can anyone tell me which directory I shold have the HW Manager look at to find the drivers.

I notice somebody trying to use their Blackberry for accessing EWA. Is there a skin or something that will make PDA viewing easier?

Should the following work? There are two UK DVB-T channels (301 & 302) that are accessed on a TV as 'red button' channels, but are available as normal channels. There is no Birtles/Radio Times EPG for them, but there is an over the air DVB-T EPG for them that covers a week. I thought I could add an extra 'source' pointing to an existing tuner and just have the two channels and DVB EPG and GBPVR would see them sharing a tuner and not get upset (a bit like two sources pointing to a PVR150 for both RF and Fixed Channel STB input). Although the normal and 301-302 sources work individually, if I try to record both, the first works and the second fails with low signal, presumably because the driver is not available. Is there a way to get this setup working or would I have to have a dedicated tuner for these two channels? thanks
