  Playback hangs
Posted by: JimPletcher - 2009-03-26, 06:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Version 1.3.11, default codec, on Vista.
I think (meaning I',m not really sure) that this just srarted recently.
We havent been recording for about a month, but everything seemed to be OK then.
The video and sound halt while veiwing a recorded program.
When this happens the (forward, etc.) controls on the remote don't function properly.
Veiwing the same program again (after restsrting GBPVR) does not cause a hang at the same place - but it does hang again.

Any ideas?

  Problem with Client playing video
Posted by: haberbe - 2009-03-26, 06:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I have been using GBPVR for a few years now, and has always worked great. i recently set up another HTPC in a different room, and am attempting to get GBPVR installed in teh client congifuration. i think it is set up all good now, but i am having some issues. I can see all of the recordings on the server, but when i try to play one, i either just get a black screen that hangs up, or stuttering audio only. Also, if i try to acces the videos directly from the video library, the screen goes black for a sec, and then kicks me back to teh directory list. Any thoughts? i have tried playing teh videos over teh network with vlc and they play fine, just can't get GBPVR to play them.

Lift and Drop -- help needed!
Posted by: daneo - 2009-03-26, 05:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi Everyone,

my new HTPC is coming tomorrow!!!!

Instead of the MVP, I will have a dedicated PC for the television (Dell Studio Slim 540s, Core2Quad, etc) and want to find a way to easily move the current setup onto this new PC.

I had though of installing the current release (same as my backend today) onto my new PC (Vista this time, not XP), and then copying in the current GBPVR directory after shutting down the processes and recording service.

This of course assumes that all BDA and Hauppauge drivers are installed!

I also want to use my current Hauppauge remote control from the MVP with my new rig -- assuming that I scrounge up a USB IR receiver, is this a valid option and what would I need to do to sew it up? Our familiy is used to the Hauppauge MVP remote and changing that would be fatal.

Has anyone had success with this type of migration, what pitfalls could I expect?

Thanks,
Dane

  Channel scan crashing with NovaT500
Posted by: JP23 - 2009-03-26, 03:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi,
All the DVB-T frequencies in my area have been changed as of today, so I need to do a rescan. I've tried every solution I can find in the forum for fixing this problem, but I'm still having no success. The scan finds a few channels but then hangs on channel 18 of 57.

I know the card works fine as it was receiving all channels perfectly yesterday.

Any ideas?

I'm using 1.3.11 with XP and have added the three files at the end of the survival guide.
Logs attached.

  Wireless MVP is it useless
Posted by: divinehammer - 2009-03-26, 01:39 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (13)

I am looking at getting one of the wireless MVPs but I have seen the reports of slow performance and what not is it because the built-in wireless gear is crappy or outdated or is it because it is just slow all together. Do you think it would be more beneficial to get a wired MVP and a Wireless adapter like Linksys. I really dont want to run wires at this time. Thanks.

  Toshiba sd290
Posted by: Clanky - 2009-03-26, 01:24 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Just bought a SD290EKB dvd player for use in my bedroom on an old crt tv.

It has a usb 2.0 slot & is advertised to play Divx, mp3 & jpeg media.

I was most impressed when it played xvid & mpeg files on a usb stick that were recorded via GB-PVR. It can even open folders containing these files.

This is a very cheap player (£40.00 approx) & quite good quality. There is no HDMI slot though.

I was thinking about building a client pc for my bedroom but this little beauty has changed my mind Smile

  Support for HD-PVR
Posted by: bubba - 2009-03-26, 12:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

There don't appear to be any drivers for my Hauppauge HD-PVR (http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html)

I tried all the other Hauppauge drivers and non of them work. I tried using the "only show devices detected on this machine" and that didn't work. The only HD model listed under "analog highdef recording plugin" is the Hauppauge WinTV HD-PVR.

Is there an update? One coming soon?

Thanks

  Reading config.xml
Posted by: McBainUK - 2009-03-26, 11:28 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (4)

Is there anything built in to the GB-PVR plugin framework that plugins can use to read/write settings into the config.xml file?

edit: kind of related, are there any docs (other then forum Q&A posts) on the GB-PVR plugin interfaces and how it all works, and recommendations for using things like GetImage callbacks etc?

  PCH-A110: no sound within music-apps
Posted by: Turas - 2009-03-26, 08:37 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (4)

i have recently setup a pch-a110.

gb-pvr starts from hd without problems (including wol by ether-wake which i added to the startmeup script). i'm using 1080p resolution over hdmi.
i can watch television (dvb-c/ts-mux) and recordings, both with superb quality and with working sound.

problem that i have now is that neither mp3's nor wma's produce sound when i use the gb-pvr music-apps (music library, music, music library 2 + 3).

playback from within pvrx2 from the gb-pvr server and the pc-client works.
playback from within pch-a110 and its internal hd works.

br turas.

Nova S plus can't find channels
Posted by: Warwick - 2009-03-26, 08:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I have set my source up as a Nova S plus. Using Optus D1 (NZFTA), LNB 11300, switch 0 but this doesn't get the either the DVB EPG or any channels when it scans.

This is the right card and it works fine with Vista media centre on the same computer so no problems with card or signal and settings seem to be what people are using for Freeview on DVB-S for NZ.

What might I be doing wrong??
