Unable to schedule recordings from the web
Posted by: philly_phenom - 2009-03-09, 04:19 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (3)

From the log, it appears that the web admin thinks there are no tuners available.

However, I checked and there are no recordings scheduled at the time (last attempts were ~12:07 at times I knew I wasn't recording anything else).

I'm at work, so the only log available at this time is the one I got from the Web Admin.

If others are needed, I can collect them tonight.

BTW: I called my wife & she is able to schedule via PVRX2...

  Need recomendations on hardware
Posted by: seansco - 2009-03-09, 02:44 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

I am setting up a GBPVR system. Currently we have DirecTV and a digital antenna converter box. I would like to be able to watch live TV and record at the same time from either input source.

Any recomendations on a Capture Card?

Unable to find digital channels - compro videomate DVB T300 tuner
Posted by: reido - 2009-03-09, 01:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hello,

Thanks to the helpful information on this forum I have managed to get the EPG set up (I get the list of channels and got the capture source to recognise the device type.

I am then trying to map digital channels to EPG channels.

The scan reports - "no channels found"

I am getting a good signal on the compro DTV program.

Has anyone got suggestions how I can get gbpvr to find the channels?

Do plugins need to support the "Slick" skin now?
Posted by: fla - 2009-03-09, 01:23 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (4)

I've noticed some users struggling to get plugins working because they are set to use the "Slick" skin and many plugins only supply a "Blue" skin.

  • Is the default PVRX2 skin on a new install the "Slick" skin?
  • Isn't the "Blue" skin the only required skin for plugins?
  • Did I miss the policy change? (I don't follow the forums that much except to help XSuite users)

HDTV SD in one guide, same channels.
Posted by: djphatjive - 2009-03-09, 01:15 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

I hope some day you can separate the HD and SD channels in the Guide so we can actually pick what show we want in HD or SD. Kind of how Snapstream Beyond TV does it. For instance. Have ABC, CBS, NBC in SD in the guide, and then have a different HD guide data for the same channels all mashed together into one guide. So two different lineups all into one guide. That would be awesome. Look at Beyond TV. Thats how they do it and it works awesome.

Love the program. But I can't use it until it does that.

  HVR-2250 and Comcast
Posted by: bnollar - 2009-03-09, 12:02 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have an HVR-2250 with Comcast digital (no STB). I have it configured with an analog capture source HVR-2250 and Schedules Direct. I get the schedule and if I try to select a program from schedule or watch Live TV, I get audio, but no video? Any thoughts? I tried to set up a digital capture source, but it locks up.

  record failure > "undetermined error"
Posted by: RedDawg - 2009-03-08, 10:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I'm definitely a newbies' newbie, so forgive my ignorance ...

GB-PVR v 1.3.11

Have made 8-10 OTA manual recordings, everything worked fine.

Set up a record for Friday evening, and when checking Sat morning, there was no dvr-ms file.

on the GB-PVR > Recordings screen > "What's new" shows

manual recording
9.1 KMSP-HD(000)
3/6/2009 7:00 -9:00 pm

with a red text "FAILED" in the upper rh corner

The PVRX2.exe-native-1.log shows the undetermined error, prob about the time I was setting the record, but I received no error notice at that time.
Because I'm having issues with signal strength with the digital OTA setup, I usually set the channel I'm going to record, then do a watch to make sure the Hauppauge Digital Signal Strength utility shows adequate signal quality, then complete the record settings.

Thanks in advance ...

post processing .ts file with ts doctor
Posted by: imagn - 2009-03-08, 09:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

As i play most of my recordings back on my pch and as i have learned the PCH does not handle recorded .ts files well all the time. TS doctor has been a great tool in correcting the issues and have yet to have a play back issue when running my files through it. But as a convinience factor i would love if this was automated as a post process bat file.

I would like to set it up that sometime around 11:30pm the ts files are run through ts doctor

is this possible and how would i set it up

  Distributed recording/processing, when to reprocess
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2009-03-08, 08:08 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I needed a third capture card to be able to record all the shows I wanted (good shows/documentarys tend to show up at the same time), but was out of free PCI-slots in my HTPC. But I had a (mostly) vacant pc, so I got a new card (ATI-550Pro) and istalled it and gbpvr in one of my "kitchen machines"Big Grin. I use WEB-admin from my htpc in the living room to schedule recordings on that system, and, after hours of head-scratching, I came up with a system that process and transfer the recordings to my htpc as well as import them to gbpvr's database automatically. (If anyone is interested in the setup I can post a how-to here).

The processing runs in the early morning hours when no recording normally is scheduled. But if the recording (on the kitchen machine) is finished early and there is no more recordings until next day, why wait until 04:30AM to process?

So my question is: Is there a way to obtaining information of when the next recording is due from a .bat file? If there is, simple math can be used to see if there is enough time to finish post-processing before the next recording kicks in.
