Forgive me, I'm new to the whole networking thing.
I noticed in the firewall that I could allow a Remote Desktop through.
I did a quick look up on what that was and it appears it may do something I would really like . . .
I hate having to pull the htpc out of the entertainment center to hookup a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to do upgrades and other tasks that require me to run programs on the htpc (I can easily move files on and off through the network).
It appears that the Remote Desktop would allow me to do that?
Or is there limitations to it? If so, are there other programs that would do that? (cheaply?)
I have uploaded a new version of mvpmc2 which I believe is the first big step in making the NMT a richer GB-PVR client. Anyone with component, composite or svideo output will be able to immediately see improvements in mp3 audio playback. The full GB-PVR UI will be available during playback so you can select new music, run slide-shows, or have a screen saver, just like the MVP or PC client. If the file is not an mp3, the NMT player will be used.
Notes
The usage instructions are straight forward (HDMI is not supported)
- change to use the new PCH2 type <MVPClientType>PCH2</MVPClientType>
- Play your audio files and have fun. I have not implemented Pause yet but Mute should be working
- If you use the USB Eject key when selecting Internet Radio the stream will be consider an aac+ stream

Please leave me any feedback good or bad, but don't ask when HDMI support will be added or a new version will be released. Before posting if you try and play an mp3 file and the NMT player starts, you have an older PVRx2.exe, mvpmcx2, HDMI has been detected or the PCH2 mode is not selected.

The goal of this next phase of development is to work with sub to take advantages of GB-PVR power in media playing where appropriate especially as it relates to mpeg video and audio streaming. The NMT players do a really good job with DVD, BD quality video, mkv's, avi, etc that I will not attempt to change how these work, but I want to improve others.
I use a USB-UIRT to, in theory, change channels on a Pace cable set top box. However, this only works when using Live TV - when using scheduled recordings, nothing happens. The activity LED on the USB-UIRT flashes when Live TV requests a channel change, but nothing appears to make it to the UIRT for scheduled recordings - looking in the recording service native log, the USBUIRT fails to open.
I've searched the forums for USBUIRTHelper and there is a thread from a few years back with a similar problem. I've updated the drivers, updated the UIRT flash several times, but recording doesn't want to play ball.
Logs zipped and attached - hopefully some light can be shed on the issue.

I suppose this request is as old as PVRX2, but any chance of getting a function call for plugins to pop-up a line of text over video? I'd really love to implement CallerID, but the old CallerID plugin (or any potential new plugin) can't be resurrected until there's a way to do a pop-up. Nothing fancy is needed, just a single line hard-coded to the top (or bottom) of the screen will do to get things started.
I currently have my music files in ML 3 and they are saved on my pc at C://music. I want to be able to see album art in ML 3 when playing my songs.
I imported my music into WM11 and that created album art for my music. This can be seen when I open WM 11. I do not know where this art is stored on my computer.
I would like some help bringing this art into ML3 . Currently when I open ML 3 my music is in list form. Can I get some assistance helping me with this task.
Hey, I have the HVR-2250 MCE-Kit that comes with an IR Receiver and 2 IR Blasters. I have Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I have used this in VMC with no problem.
Here is my setup:
I have 2 Set-top boxes which are connected to the HVR-2250 card by s-video (for video) and composite (for audio). I have a receiver connected via USB to the PC. The two IR blasters are plugged into the receiver and are on the front of each set-top box (to send the IR signal to the boxes). This setup works fine in VMC (channels are changed in set-top boxes correctly), but I tried using it in GBPVR and have had limited success. I can navigate the menus and everything, but the channels on my set top boxes (2 of them) do not change.
HIP doesn't work (it crashes when I try to start it) and I haven't had much success with either IRServer or EventGhost.
I installed the MCE replacement drivers, but that didn't work either. The closest I got was IRServer recognizing my IR receiver, but when I tried to learn commands, it would say "Learn IR Failed".
Has anyone gotten this to work with the Hauppauge MCE remote (specifically the one packaged with the HVR-2250)?
I'm at a standstill and am open to suggestions. If anyone has gotten this to work, I would greatly appreciate a detailed explanation.

I really like the Weather Plug-in. I certainly can use it the way that it is right now. But here are a few ideas that I think would improve the weather plug-in.
If you're like me, you live in an area where the weather services usually only provide a simple radar image of your state (or half of your state) that shows about a 200 mile range. That can be a two hour period in many instances. To get a complete idea of what may be coming within the next 24 hours or so, you need to add several more radar sites.
I live in Minnesota and I currently have the weather plugin set up with radar stations to cover: north and south of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and eastern Colorado (weather in Minnesota rarely comes from the east). Along with the radar data, the plugin also downloads the complete forecast information for each of these locations. I would like the weather plugin to limit its data from other locations to just radar images. I would also like to see this radar data on a composite image that comprises all the land within my selected radar image (instead of having to key from radar site to radar site to get the information from all the sites).
Similarly, I would like to see temperature and current condition (rain, cloudy, sun) for some selectable cities within a selectable map area. (for me, that would be the entire state of Minnesota, and then show cities such as Minneapolis, St Paul, Rochester, Albert Lea, Duluth, Fargo, Grand Forks, International Falls, and my home city).
I certainly can use the plug-in the way it is, but in this day of having live weather images that you can zoom in and pan around on, I don't know why the GBPVR plug-in would want to settle for something less.
Having just moved from Windows MCE, one thing that I used constantly was the 'original air date' in the EPG. This quickly told me if the program was new or a repeat (as they often are in the UK!). Although the MC2XML EPG grabber works fine, this information appears to be missing so I have no idea if something is new or not. Anybody know a workaround or another EPG source that provides this?
This was working before I added the STB to the HaupRCA.

Those settings were working before my whole mixup w/ adding the Digital linup for the STB.
I try UpdateEPG for the AverRCA, but it doesn't help.
Any thoughts? Where should I look?

i have a HVR-3000 and i would like to use it in GB PVR for analog TV. First i've checked the site of GB PVR and found that analog was not supported. But i've read on a Tweakers post it is experimental supported. I have to install the SoftMCE from Hauppauge. I've done that, but was not able to make it work. Does somebody has some hints?
