Remote + IR Blasters that work in V64-bit Vista
Posted by: qaxooti - 2009-03-10, 01:22 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hey, I have the HVR-2250 MC-Kit and it came with a Hauppauge MCE Remote + IR Receiver + 2 IR Blasters.

I have tried everything to get the blasters to work, but they haven't (I've tried replacement drivers, different software (IRServer, HIP, EventGhost, Girder). I am done tinkering around with this.

I am at the point now where I am willing to buy a new remote and blasters that will be compatible with gbpvr (maybe a USB-UIRT or something).

Does anyone know of the cheapest solution that will work for me (and will work in 64-bit Vista)?

I am using the blasters to change the channel on 2 set-top boxes. Also, are the hauppauge IR blasters compatible with other IR receivers? Could I just buy the IR Receiver (the microsoft one, for example) and still use my Hauppauge blasters?

I would appreciate any help in this matter.

  No picture/sound with multi-record enabled
Posted by: JohnD - 2009-03-10, 12:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I've just upgraded to v1.3.11 and was eager to try out multi record. All seemed well until I discoverd that when I tried to record two specific TV staions (ITV1 and Five) they failed to show a picture when I tried to play them back either during recording or after recording had bee stopped.. In one instance (ITV1) the sound was present. The files had recorded and would play back using VLC but not using GBPVR. Both stations show picture and sound when I watch Live TV and both are OK if multi-record is not enabled. They are not on the same channel (frequency) and other stations on the same channels (frequency) behave normally. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

  Changing channels display in EPG
Posted by: daveangel - 2009-03-10, 10:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi all, my EPG shows the channel names which are in the format:

101 BBC ONE
102 BBC TWO

I want to change them so the numbers are removed:

BBC ONE
BBC TWO etc

I have changed the config.xml file to show 'just names', but I have now found that the names themselves actually contain the numbers too. I can't edit the names in the config.exe either. Stumped.

Thanks

Getting iso's to play from Video Library
Posted by: Lao Pan - 2009-03-10, 09:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I spent most of last weekend trying to get iso's to play from Video Library
I have latest Daemon Tools Lite installed along with AnyDVD HD
I can only get this to work by increasing the daemon tools preplay delay to a minimum of 14000 (14 secs) and disabling ballon tips in AnyDVD.
In the slysoft forums there seams to be a consensus of opinion that Anydvd and Daemon Tools are not happy together and to use Virtual Clone Drive (Freeware no adverts or hijacking) It is meant to be compatible with 3rd party software written for daemon tools, but after hours of trying I gave up
Has anyone got Virtual Clone Drive to work with GBPVR or is there a way to decrease the delay for Daemon Tools to start and still play iso first time. (14 secs = 50 button presses in wife time Big Grin) )

Help would be very much appriceated as most things are now working purfectly

Help! - Hauppauge IR Blasters don't work in Vista 64-bit
Posted by: qaxooti - 2009-03-10, 04:12 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hey, I have the HVR-2250 MCE-Kit that comes with an IR Receiver and 2 IR Blasters. I have Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I have used this in VMC with no problem.

Here is my setup:
I have 2 Set-top boxes which are connected to the HVR-2250 card by s-video (for video) and composite (for audio). I have a receiver connected via USB to the PC. The two IR blasters are plugged into the receiver and are on the front of each set-top box (to send the IR signal to the boxes). This setup works fine in VMC (channels are changed in set-top boxes correctly), but I tried using it in GBPVR and have had limited success. I can navigate the menus and everything, but the channels on my set top boxes (2 of them) do not change.

HIP doesn't work (it crashes when I try to start it) and I haven't had much success with either IRServer or EventGhost.

I installed the MCE replacement drivers, but that didn't work either. The closest I got was IRServer recognizing my IR receiver, but when I tried to learn commands, it would say "Learn IR Failed".

Has anyone gotten this to work with the Hauppauge MCE remote (specifically the one packaged with the HVR-2250)?

I'm at a standstill and am open to suggestions. If anyone has gotten this to work, I would greatly appreciate a detailed explanation.

I feel like I've tried everything, and nothing has seemed to work.

Thanks.

  Config GUI error
Posted by: skreien - 2009-03-10, 03:05 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Sub,

Got an odd problem with the tuner setup. When I do a scan for mapping channels, the initial scan and matching all the channels to the guide works fine. If I hit rescan and then subsequently try to change any of the channels, the config gui errors out. I've got almost all the patches up to current installed. I thought it was just my computer, but I got this on another family member's computer also.

The errors should be in the logfiles I just uploaded about the HDHomerun problem if you want to see them. I'll save you the bandwidth and not upload them a second time. Let me know if you want me to post them here or if you want anything else.

  Upgraded pc..i'm missing something.
Posted by: RandyAdamsTN - 2009-03-10, 03:02 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I finally upgraded my box from a p3 to a AMD athalon 2000+. I installed windows xp sp1 fresh then strait to sp3. I installed the .net2.0sp1, vcredist_x86, and the drivers from my two huagpauge wintv 250's. next i got the remote control software installed. then last gbpvr.

I setup my cards, and added the SD chaannel sources.

I play livetv, and blam... no picture. The sound is fine. even the OSD works.

SO.. I thought that the wintv 2000 app had to be installed, so I did that. It plays tv and records live tv. no problem. then I thought about winodws media player. I installed version 10. Still no picture.

What am I missing? the logs talk about some errors but they are greek to me.

I have attached them here. can you take a look and see what you see? its probably something simple.

Thanks so much... and my kids thank you.

Randy

  HDHomerun firmware 20090305 breaks GBPVR?
Posted by: skreien - 2009-03-10, 02:51 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hi everyone,

My computer crashed over the weekend, and I'm in the process of reinstalling it. I downloaded the HDHomerun app from the Silicondust website, installed it, configured it, and got it setup in GBPVR just fine. Live TV works great. But all my recordings stay at zero size when they are recording from the HDHomerun, and the HDHR gui shows a zero network rate. No errors that I can see otherwise. I can even watch TV with media player just fine. For whatever reason, the feed just isn't being sent to the file on the hard drive.

I've attached logfiles. The problem recordings should be within the last 1.5 hours or so of the logfiles. Thanks for any ideas.
