  .mkv playback
Posted by: BigMoose - 2009-03-02, 12:31 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

This is probably a dumb question hence I've not put it in the support forum, but to play .mkv files, do I need the haali splitter? Is there another way to get them to play? I removed it as it was giving grief for Bluray disk playback but now have some .mkv's I want to play, which GBPVR currently does nothing with. It'll be annoying if I can only have .mkv playback or sensible Bluray disk playback!

  Getting posters from the net
Posted by: fhmanas - 2009-03-02, 12:30 PM - Forum: XSuite (Xrecord, XSearch, XGuide, CDK Scheduler) - Replies (4)

Does XRecord have an option for getting posters from the net like imdb for shows recorded? If not, what would be the next best plugin that would do this as Video Archive seems to be slowly moving towards being unsupported. This was what I used to use to get the posters and dvd archiving to GBPVR.

  Problems with Analog Channels
Posted by: Gdswll - 2009-03-02, 05:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I'm a noob to the GB PVR software, so please forgive me for any dumb questions.

I am running the version number 1.3.11 in Windows XP Service pack 3 using an HVR-1250 Hauppauge card.

The problem I am running into is, when I try to watch any analog channels the screen will go black and them dump me back out to the guide information or the main menu, I am able to see all of my channels there with show information. I am able to watch HD (QAM) channels with out any issues. If I use the Tuner assistant that comes with the GB PVR software I can see the channels and the correct numbers but after going through that program and hitting ok on each channel, still no luck.

I have been struggling with this for a while, I can get the analog channels to work correctly in Win TV 6, but I would prefer to be able to watch both analog and HD (QAM) channels with out having to close one program and open another. I tried using the Divx, Intervideo and MPEG codecs and a combination of those with no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached all logs that I receive when I open the program and try to watch any analog channels.

Install problems with Nebula DigiTV USB
Posted by: BOL_Schven70 - 2009-03-02, 02:04 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi there, just found gbpvr and thought I would try it out.

So I downloaded the latest version 1.3.11 and installed it.

I then setup a Capture Source using Nebula DigiTV USB device which was detected on the machine.

I finally worked out how to down load my EPG data from IceTV, very easy!!! just place the web link into the file location and viola it downloads!!! (I felt foolish after having spent a bit of time trying to work out how to down load from IceTV using mc2xml etc)

Then I have clicked on the Map digital channels to EPG channels buttons and brought up the mapping screen and then while scanning got the attached .NET pop up.

I have tried using DVB EPG Broadcast & None as the EPG options and the same problem.

I have noticed that the scanning seems to continue behind the .NET window but no channels get listed.

I have checked that I have all the .NET updates from Microsoft. I am currently running Windows XP Pro SP3.

I have attached the log files as well.

Can't get MVPMC to work (no telnet, main menu, web, etc)
Posted by: brn5336 - 2009-03-02, 12:21 AM - Forum: MVPMC dongle - Replies (4)

I had MVPMC working fine on my Windows XP PC for some time, the menu would come up and I would choose the option to go into GBPVR. Also telnet and web access into the MVPMC worked. This weekend I tried setting up MythTV on Ubuntu 8.10, then tried getting MythTV to work with the MediaMVP. I couldn't get it to work, kept saying "Failed to Locate GUI server". I decided to revert back to GBPVR on XP, however now I cannot get the MVPMC menu to come up or telnet/web access into it. I have GBPVR set to load the mvpmc dongle from 3-1-09. (http://www.mvpmc.org/builds/dongle.bin.mvpmc-20090301). MediaMVP just boots right into GBPVR, never showing the MVPMC startup screen.

Please help me get back the MVPMC menu and telnet/web access into it!

I have the MediaMVP wireless rev H3. I tried both wireless and wired, same problem.

  xmltv.xml file corrupts my gbpvr.db3
Posted by: curt1s - 2009-03-02, 12:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (26)

Hello,

I have been using mc2xml to generate a xmltv.xml file. Whenever I updated my EPG, the gbpvr.db3 gets corrupted.. The only way I can get it to work is to first clear the EPG and then update it, and it works, however this deletes all my scheduled recordings.

Is this a GBPVR bug or a mc2xml bug?

Thanks!

  S/PDIF 5.1 output...
Posted by: JohnInSJ - 2009-03-01, 11:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I've finally added the s/pdif output connectors to my shuttle running gbpvr. Which lead to several hours fighting with the configs.

Apparently the key is to get ffdshow audio to do all the audio processing, with various settings suggesting it should use s/pdif as appropriate...

I've got all the settings that are working for me if anyone needs/wants me to dig em up, but right now I'm getting 5.1 out of TS playback (assuming it was there in teh source) as well as from ripped dvds and downloaded content.

It's all very nice Wink

Yeah I'm home sick so I have time to play with the much neglected HTPC.

dual digital tuner capture source setup question
Posted by: fdm225 - 2009-03-01, 09:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi,
I have a HVR-2250 card and I am trying to set it up to use both digital tuners and none of the analog tuners. So I in config.exe under the "Capture Sources" tab I have two Tuners (Tuner-1 & Tuner-2) setup. My question is when I setup the digital recording plugin would have a device number of 1 for both sources or would Tuner-1 have device number 1 and tuner-2 have device number 2? Reason I ask is I have tried it both ways and am still getting conflicts.

Thanks,
dave
ps. sorry if this has been covered but I searched the forum and went through the 2250 threads but could not find anything that specifically spoke about this.
