  NMT locks when starting GBPVR
Posted by: sixeyes - 2009-02-15, 08:23 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (16)

I've tried to get my NMT (A100) working with GBPVR. After several hours failing to do it by hand I decided to enable simple file sharing (I normally use username & password) and enabled the guest account. I ran the NMTInstall.exe and everything seemed fine. I used the NMT to browse to my new share and selected the second GBPVR option. The moment I do so the screen goes black and I have to reboot my NMT.

Having messed around with the files for hours earlier I decided to have a look at startmeup and changed it from the default to 720p / 50Hz to match my settings but it hasn't helped.

Can anyone suggest anything for me to try?

My GBPVR system is running XP Pro with SP3, with GBPVR v1.3.11.

  5.1 audio problem
Posted by: Ranger One - 2009-02-15, 08:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

GBPVR latest version
FFDShow audio decoder setup 3/0/2-5 channels "LFE"

AC3 Decoder:
FFDShow Audio Decoder: Mixer:Output Speakers Configuratiio 3/0/2-5 Channels "LFE"
Output: Pass-through (S/PDIF,HDMI) "AC3" "DTS"
Supported outputsample formats "16 bit integer" "24 bit integer" "AC3 (S/PDIF encode mode}" Bitrate "448"
Connect to: "Direct sound" "Apply only to S/PDIF output
Multichannel device: "use default device"
"Allow direct to file output"

Audio Renderer: "RealtekHD Audio Output"

I have 5.1 working but the one problem I'm having is with an ATSC station from a Hauppauge 1600 ATSC tuner. When I "map" the channel & click on the stream it plays 5.1 audio yet when I view the channel thru GBPVR I'm only getting 2 channel audio.

As it's my local NBC station I would like to get the 5.1 sound. As I've been using GBPVR for quite sometime now I'm perplexed as to why this isn't working!

  EWA pain...
Posted by: mattyb - 2009-02-15, 07:58 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (17)

I'm starting to tear my hair out with the EWA...

I've running GBPVR 1.2.9 and have installed v79 of the EWA (the latest release) and I have my router configured to forward ports 7647 and 7648. When I browse to: http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/guide.aspx on my GBPVR machine I get rejected immediately to a "Internet Explorer can't find this page" error.

I've tried installing v78 and that actually worked for about a day then it too just magically stopped working with the same error as above. So then I tried installing v79 again and still the same problem.

I've also messed around with my router A LOT and talked to my ISP as well as the router manufacturer, and I'm now 99% sure I have it setup correctly. When I had v78 installed and working (briefly) via the localhost, I could also get to the EWA via another computer on my home network by going to http://local-ip:7647/gbpvr/guide.aspx

I don't even really need external access as I use Logmein to access the GBPVR machine and then all I need is the localhost access to schedule recordings etc. If my video card was able to render the guide via Logmein then I wouldn't even need EWA either, but alas it won't.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Movie image preview (folder vs file)
Posted by: davreh99 - 2009-02-15, 07:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Why is it that the image preview looks so much better on the folder than the file?
When navigating through my movies the folder always looks crisp and clear, but the file image is always pixalated and has bad quality.
They are the same image, just renamed properly.
(ex.) Mymovie.avi will be inside a folder. Then I have a image for the folder called "folder.jpg" and a copy of the image called "Mymovie.avi.jpg".

Is there a setting I can change so the quality of the file image is the same as the folder image?

Unable to scan fro German channels
Posted by: azzi - 2009-02-15, 05:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (26)

I am a newbie with this product and have come across some problems which I could use some help from the more experienced.

My hardware setup:

Mainboard - Asus M2A-VM
Processeor – AMD x2 4200
Video Card – ATI onboard x1250
SAT Card – Technista Skystar HD2

Software:

Vista ultimate +SP1
Technisat Mantis BDA driver – ver 1.0.1.5 Date – 25 Jan 2008

I have updated the technisat in the bda.ini as suggested in the wiki using graphedit
I have used mc2xml as suggested in http://mc2xml.110mb.com/#gbpvr to retreive the EPG for Germany.
Configured “Capture Sources” and selected “Digital recording plugin” - this found my Technisat from the updated bda.ini. However “Country:” show only “All Countres” instaed of a list of countries. So I selected Astr 1e,1f,1g,1h,1kr,2c. I selected the EPG source that was exported with mc2xml. Clicked on the “Update EPG” button and got the german channels. I selected “Map digital channels” and started scanning. The scan finds lots of channels except the german channels. It also alway:confusedConfused crashes at “Scanning 22 of 77”.

How can I get past this problem? Is there a way I can troubleshoot this issue?

TIA

32-bit Windows 7 beta and GBPVR
Posted by: observing - 2009-02-15, 05:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Sometime ago, I reported on my attempt to run GBPVR under 64-bit Windows 7 beta. Since then, I have been evaluating the 32-bit version and installing the same applications. GBPVR appears to work with no problems. I am also using the PCH A-100 as a media extender, so I can vouch for mvpmcx2 as well. The difficulties I had with the HDHomerun tuner under the 64-bit version didn't happen with the 32-bit version.

  Random lock ups on recording
Posted by: Bluethunder - 2009-02-15, 04:08 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I was wondering if any one had some advice on tracking down why my computer hard-locks (screen stuck, no mouse, etc), occassionally while i'm recording.

There is no event log that shows it dieing. Its normal right up to the time it dies, then resumes right there on restart.

I ran the microsoft ram test cd on the computer a number of months ago, and it was ok. I am going to put it back on again, and let it run for a day or two.

The computer is fine most of the time. It doesn't lock when i'm watching videos, etc. This morning, a recording started at 8:00, and it was hardlocked at 8:14. Yesterday, it recorded 3 hours of TV with out a hitch..

Thanks

how do you tweak community skin?
Posted by: pduncan67 - 2009-02-15, 02:50 PM - Forum: Community Skin - Replies (10)

I have downloaded and installed 'Community3x.exe' and 'SkinPlugin3.2.2.Setup.exe'
I have the new skin working as default in PVRX2 (and it looks great!)

When I launch the config utility, on the plugin tab I see 'Skin' is checked - but do not see any options to be able to configure it. I am missing something?

GB-PVR v1.3.11
Community 3.2.2

  Postprocessing with que issue
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2009-02-15, 11:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Since my harddisk completly chokes if a postprocessing runs concurrent with a recording I have installed Zehd’s PostProcessing.bat with deferred Transcoding and have it run late when no recordings normally occur. Works great except for one problem:

While transcoding, the second of two back-to-back recordings always comes out with a 25-27 seconds total length .avi file (the original .mpeg file is ok)
At first I suspected that it was because gbpvr would use the second capture device since it's first choice was busy, so I swapped the order of the cards in config-app, but strangly the result is the same!

I'v attached the files that might give a clue of what's going on.
Does anybody have a solution?
