Using a IR blaster on a Digital Converter with PVR 150.
Posted by: mkenyon2 - 2009-02-15, 12:15 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

So, I figured I'd use a coupon and try a digital converter box. I hooked it into the Composite RCA jacks on the PVR 150 card. I can view 1 channel (probably my antenna).

My question is, has anybody used an IR blaster to control one of these? Is it hard? Is it doable? Any tips? I use HIP.

(BTW, is HIP still one of the better options for remote control handling?)

PVXR2 doesn't run - no, this is not easy ;)
Posted by: rmorein - 2009-02-15, 12:12 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Sub, any comments about this?
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=40843

The dump indicates that the system "probably does not support VMR9". It does, it was running 1.2.9 fine before an unrelated crash required reconstruction, and it has had the both the latest Asus driver and the latest ATI dist., 9.1

All the other rendering choices fail in the same way: PVXR2 exits before display. The desktop is unaltered.

XP/SP3, all Microsoft patches, 3gb ram, Asus M3A78-EMH-HDMI motherboard, 780G graphics, 700MB shared memory, Athlon 64x2, 2.8gHz, two Hauppage 1250 cards.

A line from the dump:
2009-02-14 18:58:29.875 ERROR [1] Shutting down due to error (probably no VMR9 support): System.TypeLoadException: Method 'PlayVideoFile' in type 'GBPVRX2.xdd215986d9a64c86' from assembly 'PVRX2, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' does not have an implementation.

  HDHomerun help please
Posted by: kkozma - 2009-02-14, 09:41 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

I have followed all of the instructions. When I try to remap the digital channels to the epg data I get a .net framework crash with the option to continue or quit. Then it says that GBPVR was unable to start the BDA device I have configured. I'm about to pull my hair out.

  Virgin Media Box into PC ? ? ? ?
Posted by: RTTC - 2009-02-14, 09:40 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

Is it possible to get a Virgin Media Set Top Box (Samsung SMT-2110C) linked to a PC?
(instead of the TV)
There is RF out or scart from the set top box.

The PC's 2xDVI graphics card (NVidia GE Force 7900GS) has an S video socket - can that be used?

or will I need a separate PCI card?

I'm happy to use the Virgin Remote to change channels although would prefer using gbpvr!

MKV with OGG soundtrack - no sound on pc
Posted by: psycik - 2009-02-14, 09:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm uploading a sample to rapid share, but hoping someone can help. I tried a script that mvallevand helped me with to get the nz freeview|hd files working on the popcorn hour, but could never get the sound synced up.

Basically I'm trying to change the sound of these files to h.264 video with ogg sound and store within a matrokosa container.

Have found with ogg, that sound works on the popcorn great. But I can't get the sound on the pc.

I've installed the ogg codec (from http://www.xiph.org/dshow/) , and have the haali media splitter installed, but when i render with graphedit it doesn't connect up the sound. I'm wondering if I've installed the incorrect thing.

Can someone advise something that will get this working on their pc, with either gb or wmp, and not vlc, and I'd prefer not to install ffdshow.

newbie question about setting up recording source
Posted by: lancedefrance - 2009-02-14, 08:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi

I currently have GB PVR set up to record from TV through my Hauppage 150 MCE card.

I have an antenna that connects to my card and have set up my recording source as 'analog recording plugin' in the GBPVR config screen and have the channels tuned in.

I also have a sky receiver decoder that I want to record from that has RCA output at the back (1 video, 2 audio out).

I want to connect that to my PC so I can record from sky, however this is what I need help with. What do I set the recording source to? do I select digital recording plugin knowing that there is no digital signal on my sky decoder?

Its also worth mentioning that my card has only 1 tuner but I only want to record 1 show at a time so thats not a problem.

Thanks for you help Smile

  Recordings Renamed in DB
Posted by: taz - 2009-02-14, 06:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I recently enabled the "Auto-Convert MPG recordings to: Video Ipod" in the config. I found that this also renames the file in the gbpvr.db3 database to match the converted file. Is there a way to keep from changing the filename in the db? I see there is "<AutoRenameSonyPSPConvertedFiles>true</AutoRenameSonyPSPConvertedFiles>" in the config.xml for PSP converted files. Is there anything for the other conversion options?

Taz

  Installation Error
Posted by: fletch99 - 2009-02-14, 03:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I'm trying to reinstall after clearing up some Video Driver problems. All I get is a message that an Installation error has occurred. I'm trying to install 10311. I've got a Radeon 1300 and the CCC & WDM are installed.

W'XP SP 3.

Where do I begin to look.
