  Splitting mpeg-ts files
Posted by: mvallevand - 2009-02-17, 06:22 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

I have noted that some mpeg-ts file are actually joined streams with the PTS changing between "files" Would it be able to record streams as separate chunks if there is a signficant difference in PTS within the file? Often these chunks are full programs while the other pieces could be padding.

No TV Picture when starting PVRx2
Posted by: kdsm - 2009-02-17, 06:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I have finished loading GBpvr and I hope all the needed files and configurations done correctly. But, When I click on PVRx2 to watch some TV nothing shows. It's as if the application is hung but I can click on x in the right hand corner and it will close. So I'm thinking that I've missed something.
Here are my details. Windows XP sp3 Pentium 4 2.20 ghz 512 mg. Gbpvr 10311. Microsoft .net 2.0. One other note. I used the tuningassistant and it fines the working channel. Oh! I forgot to say that I have Win-pvr-150 and Dish Network so I realy only need to tune in one channel. But I also have setup an epg plug in.
So what have I missed? I had this running on a different computer some time ago and only now have I had a chance to get it setup again.

thanks for your help

  recording playback freeze on skip
Posted by: gunterhausfrau - 2009-02-17, 06:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I try to skip during a recording and the image freezes and will not play back. I think this might have started when I did the latest update on the software. I also changed the tv card at the same time. If I look at old recordings they look to be in MPG format, the new in DVR-ms. Other formats look to behave, but not the DVR_MS. Is this a codec problem maybe? any suggestions about a solution path? Thanks.

HVR-2200 Users Getting Prime(NZ) on BOTH Analogue Tuners?
Posted by: pcrosley - 2009-02-17, 04:37 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Not finding any answers anywhere so let's get specific...

If you are using the HVR-2200 with an Analogue Cable setup (like say the Sky STB feeding the card) are you able to receive Prime (NZ channels like 316 or 319) equally well on BOTH tuners?

If yes, can you tell me anything about how you set the card up?

I took my card back and was able to swap it out (thanks, ComputerLounge!Smile) but I still cannot get Prime on analogue tuner #2.

Cheers!

No recorded audio, Live is fine
Posted by: JimPletcher - 2009-02-16, 10:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Version 10307, Hauppauge 1600, antenna connected to ATSC input, Vista Home Premium, AVG Free AntiVirus.

After switching to digital recently, I experienced video display problems which Sub correctly attributed to the decoder, so I switched to "System Default", and everything seemed to be OK.

However, any recordings made since then playback without accompanying audio.
Recordings made before that date (analog signals) still playback fine, and Live TV audio is OK too.

Any suggestoins?

EDIT:
I was unable to solve the problem from within Config.
BUT, I eliminated the problem by uninstalling GBPVR (via Windows), then installing the newest version - with only minor configuration.

Setting up a Set top Cable box with HIP and IR Blaster?
Posted by: mkenyon2 - 2009-02-16, 09:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I was looking for instructions about getting GBPVR to use the Cable company's set top box. I have HIP set up, and set to send IR to the box. I have a Hauppauge IR Blaster.

Couldn't find out where the instructions were.

  What exactly does KEEP: do?
Posted by: bholio - 2009-02-16, 08:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I'm currently a replayTV user and realize that I need to start planning to move on to something else in the future. For one thing, I'd like to record QAM. GBPVR is the first PC based PVR I've tried.

One of the things I like about the replayTV is that it automatically cleans up old shows. I can tell it to record all episodes of SpongeBob Squarepants, but only keep 5 of them. When it records a 6th episode, it deletes the first. Basically, it can record forever without ever missing new shows due to lack of disk space and without me having to ever delete anything.

Is GBPVR able to do this? I see the 'KEEP:' option when scheduling a recording, but I don't see a description in the documentation.

What is supposed to happen when I tell it to KEEP 2 episodes? Does it record 2, then cancel the recurring recording so it will never record again? Or does it delete the first episode when the 3rd episode appears?

Thanks,

  Strange PVRX2 crash
Posted by: skreien - 2009-02-16, 04:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

OK, this has to be one of the strangest things I've seen. I have a newer Dell dual core with the onboard video, and a Hauppauge HR1600. I never had the digital side hooked up until recently, and at first when I did everything worked fine. I was running the screen at 1024x768. I changed to a widescreen monitor and changed to the 16x9 option in the config program. Now whenever I play HD video PVRX2 crashes! Through experimentation I've found that if I decrease the resolution of the monitor from 1680x1050 to 1280x960 (both are widescreen resolutions) the HD video will play just fine. Analog video will play fine at either resolution. PVRX2 crashes when I try to watch a HD channel live or a recorded program. It seems to record just fine though. I've also tried rolling back quartz.dll to the 9.0b version, no difference.

I've attached the logs. Hopefully somebody can give me a few ideas.

Thanks

Disable DVD eject when no disc detected
Posted by: imilne - 2009-02-16, 01:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I guess this is part support, part wishlist, but is there any way to stop gbpvr ejecting the drive tray if it doesn't find a DVD?

I use AnyDVD and it can sometimes take 20-30 seconds from inserting a disc to it becoming "visible" to windows/gbpvr. This often results in the wife putting a disc in the tray, getting back to the couch, hitting play, then having the disc ejected back out because it wasn't seen yet. Cue grumbling :-)

The obvious solution is to wait longer, but if a simple option exists to *not* eject the tray that'd be great.
