I have a working setup & things have been pretty smooth, so I haven't bothered looking into multirecording with my HDHomerun.

But Comcast changed our channel lineup around, recently, so I'm going to have to mess around with things anyway, so I figured I'd add that in too.

Is there anything I need to do for multirecording other than download the latest HDHomerun SW & FW, and follow the GBPVR instructions on the silicon dust board?

I am grateful you added the ability to rename files with spaces using UltraXMLTV_Renamer. I have noticed a slight issue when UltraXMLTV_Renamer renames files with spaces that include episode information in the subtitle. Although UltraXMLTV_Enhancer correctly enhances the episode information in the subtitle, when UltraXMLTV_Renamer renames the file using the same episode information it removes the spaces between the title, hyphen, and subtitle (i.e., title-subtitle vs title - subtitle).

I know it's a small bug, but I thought you might like to know about it.

I just built a new computer with Vista 64bit and I am looking for a replacement for my Plextor TV402U which is not supported in Vista.

I was looking at the Hauppauge HVR-1950. Does anyone know if this works with Vista 64bit and gbpvr?

After quite a few months, I have my machine back up with 1.3.11. Previously, DVR-MS playback had been flawless. Now, it's jerky. I understand that this is not intrinsic to GB-PVR; it's related to Directshow and drivers. I am looking for insight as to why previously flawless playback is now a bit like the stuttering found in Adobe Flash video.

System specs:
Asus M3A78-EMH-HDMI, 2.8ghz Athon 64x2, 4 gb ram, 780g motherboard graphics, XP/SP3, latest ATI 9.1 driver. No video scaling; the TV is a Philips 1920x1080 native. Graphics driver acceleration is "full." DRV-MS is from U.S. OTA at 15mb/s . There are no dropouts. Previously, VMR9 exclusive was found to be required for pristine performance, so that continues to be used.

Just discovered: If I play the DVR-MS files with WMP11, they play smoothly, but without sound, since AC3filter is required. Does this indicate a mux problem?

Like the subject says... when I view live TV (both SD and US ATSC broadcast) the video's there (and it's NICE) but I have no audio...

If I record the show I was JUST testing out, and then watch it from the recording, it's fine. Audio and video both there.

It's weird... Any thoughts?

Have a strange problem using GBPVR version 1.3.7; Using HDHomerun with cable qam. Am able to watch and record on all digital channels except one. I am in the States and it is digital channel 810 ( WLTX local CBS affiliate). I am using TS mux. I can watch the channel live just fine but cannot record or timeshift. Recording creates .ts files, but they are 0 bytes. I have attached the logs. Hope someone can help

Briefly we had cable TV and all was well. But, now we're using an antenna. I've tried the CyberLink and ATI muxes to record mpegs. These files can be played back GBPVR on my PC but via the MVP they play for maybe 10 seconds and then it thinks it has reached the end of the clip.

I would just use my DTV converter box, and skip this ATSC business, but it is not supported by the hauppauge IR blaster that came with my HVR-1600 card.

Is there something else in the GBPVR setup that might make the files playable by the MVP? A different mux? Or does anyone know of a DTV converter box that works with the IR blaster? Or a way to manually input the codes for my existing box to the IR blaster software?

I have just upgraded to the latest version of the software (SLICK skin is slick ) and pressing f7 doesn't seem to cycle though aspect ratios anymore.

Is this expected?

My GBPVR screen size on my PCH needs to be reduced. On the Recording screen, "Re" is clipped on the left, and "recordings" barely makes it on the right. I ran MVP Position and came up with 1236 width, 44 X offset (started at 1280, 0 offset). Restarted recording service, and no change. Tried changing StartMeUp from "-m 720 &" to "-m 720 --display 1236x720 &" - no change.

Search of the forum resulted in:

- mvpmcx2 needs to have the same total dimensions as you have in config.xml or you will corrupt the frame buffer and get unexpected result.
Not really sure what that means.

What is going on?

I'm trying to put together a low budget PVR, nothing fancy but I'd like to have the facility to watch one channel while recording another, perhaps download and watch some HD or at least hi res videos, play a DVD and perhaps play a Blu Ray when I can afford a drive. I've worked out that GB-PVR is clearly the software to use but I'm a little misty on the hardware I should run it on.

Based on my research so far I've purchased a Pinnacle 3010iX dual DVB-T/Analogue card off eBay (absolute bargain) but I'm at a bit of a loss as to what system to build around it.

My options are that I can go Intel or AMD. In either case I can get a Mobo/CPU combo for about 100UKP and I'll probably spend another 150 on RAM, a silent CPU cooler (these are awesome and will fit in a small HTPC case), RAM and HD. I have plans to build my own case, or at least re-purpose an old chassis I have laying around.

I'm looking for good recommendations for what mobo to get. I don't really know what I'm looking for. Is it worth getting one with a GeForce IGP or one of the AMD variants? Does GB-PVR even benefit from an onboard graphics processor? Where should I spend the money, on CPU grunt, mobo quality or elsewhere?

So far I'm looking at these;

AMD Rig:

CPU: Sempron LE-1250 AM2
Mobo: Either the Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2H or the Asus M3N78-VM.

Both boards seem reasonable, both have HDMI, DVI, 6/8Ch Audio but the ASUS has a nice optical out, the Gigabyte has what looks like a digital coax output. The Gigabyte is based around the ATI Radeon 2100 platform, the ASUS is the NVIDIA GeForce 8200 Chipset.

Intel Rig:

CPU: Celery E1200 Dual Core 1.6Ghz
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H

This board is based on the GeForce 7100. I lost track of the Nvidia model numbers years ago, they just don't make sense any more.

So where do I go from here? Are my mobo choices wildly inappropriate for what will only ever be an HTPC? Have I missed an obvious bargain or have I already shot myself in the foot with the hardware I'm looking at? Any helpful suggestions or gentle nudges towards useful websites or reading material is greatly appreciated.

Better than that would be somebody telling me exactly which bits to buy
