Divx videos in the video library play just fine on the client. Also, if i copy the recording to the client and then try to play it it plays just fine. Im guessing there is some problem with the way i have the network setup but i cannot figure it out. Im using file sharing and i can see all the recordings on the client machine but when i goto watch them the screen goes black and then eventually it brings me back to the recordings screen. Ill attach all the logs from both machines. Thanks!

I reinstalled my test box since things were going slow and programs begin to crash......started fresh. After adding to the bda file all the hdhomerun info and using the QAM tool/center freq. to scan, I got a number of channels but upon reviewing them to map, I see or hear nothing on all of them (probably close to 150 or more). On this same system with same drivers etc. last time I had no trouble but I think I must have missed something when I reinstalled things......can anyone tell me what that might be?

I've just installed GBPVR on an XP machine to control a new HD PVR. I was able to create recordings in TME and control the IR through BlastCfg.

Now that I've got GBPVR installed, whenever I try to record something, it creates a 0 kb .ts file that never grows. I am going to the TV Guide and selecting a program to QuickRec, and the first time through it will change the channel (using haupblast), but create a 0 kb .ts. When I cancel the recording and try to record another program in the same way, it won't change the channel (and BlastCfg will now say there is no IR hardware). Then it creates another 0 kb .ts file. Sometimes is will create a 128kb .ts file, I think maybe the first time after a reboot, but I'm not sure.

Anyways, I hope someone can point me to some answers or suggestions. I tried to search the forum, but it says most of my search terms are too short or too common, so I haven't found anything relevant yet.

I tried uninstalling the Arcsoft software thinking it might conflict, though I don't know if that was a good idea or not. I seem to have the same behaviour though, so no change.

trying to use 2 Hauppauge HVR-1600 for over the air recording 2 shows same time using digital plug in drpdpwn list shows 1 Hauppauge HVR-1500 digatal atsc and one Hauppauge HVR-1600 atsc and one Hauppauge HVR-1600 qam
tried setting one Hauppauge HVR-1600 on device 1 Hauppauge HVR-1500 to device 2 did not record then tried Hauppauge HVR-1500 on device 2 still no recording allthough it says recording it gives 0 byes when i open drive where recorinds are window locls box pops up when i open it it say error mpegsplitter.ax not show what to do or how to sett both cards up correctly they are both Hauppauge HVR-1600 but difrent versions of the HVR - 1600

I can't find a lot of comparisons on GBPVR vs MCE surprisingly so I thougth I would list a few of the things that bug me about MCE and tell me if it would be better under GBPVR.

1. I run MCE full screen on my TV (2nd monitor) and it locks the mouse so can't use the computer for anything else if someone is using MCE.

2. No easy way to close MCE with the remote. Have to Alt-F4. This is only a pain because I have my computer digitally outputted to my stereo and I don't turn it off so don't want to hear my computer in the middle of the night.

I guess after thinking these are the only two things that but me at the moment.

I would love any links to anybody who has done a good comparison of the two programs.

For cost reasons I'm working if phases to get my ultimate theater set up in my house.

My first stage was a surround sound.
Check.
Second stage was setting up a PVR solution for our living room.
Check.
Third stage was getting a client set up for our bedroom.
Almost Check. Just need to finish dropping a network cable and all will be
done. (thanks to a coworker who had a box of "junk" to get rid of)

My next stage is to upgrade our current tv sets to one's that can display the new digital content we are recording. We have a 26" in the living room hooked up via S-Video and a 20" old tv/vcr combo set in our bedroom with composite video.

So long story short, I've saved enough to possibly upgrade the set in our bedroom but my quandry is this. Since the client is a PC I was considering purchasing a monitor instead of an actual TV. Here is what I've found.

My thoughts are, the monitor is bigger and has higher resolution and is cheaper but is only good with a PC.
The TV would still be usefull if it needed to be moved to say the kids room as a seperate tv later.

Would be nice to filter by movies, or comedy, or documentary. Particularly movies. There are times when I"m bored with the shows I record I would like to see what movies are in the guide. AFAIK, there's no way to do that now.

I having some codec problems & was wondering which codecs are recommended.
I really only want to do stuff related to DVB so mpeg2/HD/ac3/TS files etc.
some of my ts files need hdtvpump or tsfilesource to work, but I having problems getting them to automatically connect to suitable decoders etc.
I am reasonably familiar with graphedit and changing codec priorities, but still need to know more to setup the system well.
And recommendations on (1) codecs and (2) how to set them up?

Anybody have this board?

I have one and and i am very hapy with it - it is rock stable, nice video quality, but there are problems too.

I am using XPSP3, BIOS F4, 2GB RAM, only Hauppage 1300 TV card is installed, no keyboard/mouse is connected.

Basicaly, i setup my HTPC to go to standby mode after 3min.
GB-PVR should wake up my machine to record, but sometimes it simply freeze (fails to wakeup correctly). MCE stand by tool helps a little, becouse manual standby/wakeup working just fine after MCE instalation.

I checked all possible LOGs, event wiever, but there is no info about hang :/

I am afraid it can be some MB issue... Who knows?

Any tips?

Scheduled recordings just don't seem record at all. I changed my DVB-T cards for a DVB-S HVR3000 and all was working sweet until I installed a Nova S, then recordings stopped recording for some recordings. I had a play and uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers and also gbpvr and now all recordings fail. Please find attached my logs. I have no other TV apps using the cards and I know GBPVR can use them as they work in config when tuning channels just fine.
