When in the TV Guide, it would be nice to be able to type a channel number and have the guide jump to that channel.
My wife and I do that out of old habit even though we don't have all that many channels, but certainly it would be golden for those with hundreds of channels.
I own a Pinnacle pctv hd pro stick 800e. I have had it for over a year and have never been able to get it to work using the supplied software. I read some reviews that said gbpvr was a good program to use for viewing tv. After reading about it, I was excited to give it a try. However. After downloading the program and trying to configure properly, it seems overly complicated. Maybe Iâm just a moron, but I canât even get past the first step in configuring it. I have read all the past threads regarding 800e configuration and it seems over my head. Adding additional lines to .ins files, etc. I donât even no what the heck that is. Some people suggest running the filtercheck.exe in the program directory, well I donât even have that. If anyone out there uses the 800e capture device could you please provide me with the configuration settings. I canât even figure out how to get my capture card recognized!! Help please!!
I've changed the MPEG-2 Playback to pretty much everything on the list to try and figure out the audio problem, but no go. Tv3 and C4 sound perfect, but the others, they just keep skipping and dropping out.
The Monogram AAC Decoder must have installed correctly, as its on the drop down list...
I'm really confused, I just moved my PVR-150 over to a new PC and now I can't get it to work under GBPVR. I have configured this card on my previous desktop and it worked perfectly, but I am having no luck on my new computer. So far it works on my old computer in both linux, and windows (both WinTV and GBPVR). On the new computer it works in WinTV but not GBPVR, I just get a black screen. I have MPEG codecs Installed, I have tried both Combined Community Codec Pack, Nero, and Nvidia's Codecs. None make a difference...
I can't think of anything else to try... Anyone know what could be wrong?
sub, could you allow m2t and m2ts as valid file types for the MVP and PCHServe interfaces the next time you are in there please? I am not sure if ffmpeg supports them for the MVP but it is no worse than it is now.
Would it be possible to add a USB button to the main control panel that would access any removable drive connected to the computer and let you browse it for any content defined for the Music / Video Libraries?
Currently when a friend brings a USB drive with a movie on it, I have to use a shortcut to the media file and drop this into the video library. Since a lot of DVD players now have USB ports, I thought this would be a feature useful to GBPVR.
I have a Seagate 750gb drive in my HTPC right now but it's getting kinda full so I'm looking at adding a drive.
I see Western Digital has their new 2tb green drive out and so far the reviews are good, but it's expensive compared to the Seagate 1.5tb drive.
The Seagate has had some firmware issues that caused some stuttering when pulling data off the drive, definitely not a good thing for a HTPC drive! But it seems they've released new firmware for these drives and the reviews seem to be generally good as of late. It also seems the data stuttering problem crept up more when used in RAID arrays and I wouldn't be using it in a RAID array.
The Seagate goes for about $130 and the Western Digital for around $250, so for about the same money I could go with two Seagates and end up with a tb more storage so I'm seriously thinking about giving one a try and if I'm happy buying another one to replace my 750gb (I'll move it to my main pc).
Has anyone here used this drive? If so is it behaving for you, or would you not wish it on your worst enemy?
Any and all comments welcomed!
The specific drive I'm looking at is the:
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS 1.5TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

I have looked in the wiki and searched the forum, and did not find any directions on how to set up UltraXMLTV for multiple Schedule Direct lineups. I have a Hauppauge 1600 and would like to set up listings for the QAM channels I have available.
Any guidance regarding how to set up the batch files, XMLTV config, etc. would be greatly appreciated!
